We opted to eat indoors, while outdoors seating was available and the weather definitely allowed, I just wasn't feeling my best and didn't want to get cold. I tried the fish that was on their special menu, and a glass of Riesling which paired very well with the fish. My mom opted in to get the gnocchi pasta dish and that was also phenomenal. The staff are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. The desserts, especially the mille-feuille, were a highlight. While the dishes are well-prepared, some items felt a little pricey for the portion size, so keep that in mind. The interiors are stunning, rich wood paneling, sparkling chandeliers, and walls adorned with portraits of cinema legends create a timeless, glamorous feel. A bonus for fashion lovers: for girls who love to shop, Louis Vuitton is just across the street, so you can combine a chic Parisian dinner with some luxury window shopping or a little retail therapy

When asked, our…read morelovely, waitperson, Evian suggested we order the Crispy Shichimi, which is a spinach-filled roll with shichimi pepper, sesame sauce, black sesame and pickled red onion artfully strewn atop. When I asked why, she said, "They're crunchy." My eyes lit up. As a vegan I crave crunchy food because so much plant-based food is soft. Evian was right! This roll had texture. It was beautifully presented in eight pieces. Upon the first yummy bite it was apparent this was cooking at another level. The fry was perfectly light and clean. Each bite substantial. The taste memorable. I have never had a sushi roll like it and now I want to live inside the restaurant so I can have it forever. We also got five pieces of the yummy Seitan Crispy, which comes with a lovely Doenjang sauce, that is thick and flavorful. These unique, protein boosts are also cleanly fried, delectable and filling. Lastly, my husband got the small BBQ Donburi which was a bowl of rice, a flavorful bbq soy protein, and some mesclum. He loved it. We sat outside on the lovely side street and chatted with Evian who made our dinner a memorable experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and wish I could bring it back to America. Even better, open up a branch in San Francisco!

Whether you're visiting for lunch, dinner, or simply a glass of wine, the atmosphere is the real star. Went here with the hubs and we had such a fun day. The street was busy and the service was polished and professional, but a little distracted (never got our French onion soup) striking that uniquely Parisian balance of attentive without being intrusive. The food was presented and executed with the confidence expected from such a legendary address. Yes, there are quieter and more intimate restaurants in Paris, but that's not why you come to L'Avenue. You come for the glamour, the buzz, the fashion crowd, and the feeling that you're at the center of one of the world's most stylish cities. An iconic Paris destination that is absolutely worth experiencing at least once. That being said, we will be back! And Americans, when ordering cocktails here or anywhere ask for the liquor you want.

The French are lovely people in a city that is most lovely. This location is beyond compare. So am I angry? Not at all! If they can make a few extra bucks off Americans, I don't blame them. Why not? This restaurant could not exist in Chicago. Why? Because the waitresses here are of supermodel quality. No ugly Tubby's with bad dye jobs. The food? Mediocre. A Smashburger is not a Smashburger here. They don't have the concept down at all. But again: location, location, location. Enjoy the scenery!
