The expansive but not too overwhelming menu, unforgettable flavors, and affordable price tag are all what now lands Tien Hang at the top of my favorite restaurants list. Yes - it's that good. So good, in fact, that we had to go a second time, just to make it the last meal we enjoyed in Paris. Our last visit, we just barely escaped the rain on our way but couldn't pass up watching the storm roll over at their open window seat. The space is on the smaller, intimate side but they have plenty of covered outdoor seating. Their flavorful, steamed dumplings, warm noodle bowls [and service staff], fresh, chilled green tea, comforting coconut milk soup and sweet dessert buns not only filled us up to the brim, but left us craving even more. The only thing I would've changed about my experiences at Tien Hiang would've been to have eaten there a third time. great spot for vegan open late! we ordered lemongrass chicken, pad thai with chicken, papaya salad, and a side of white rice! everything was delicious and portions were perfect to share between my bf and i. we got dropped off here so not sure how parking would work. staff was kind and helpful! we were seated immediately and enjoyed our meal. read more

Wow, just wow! I found this place on Yelp and on google searches/vegan blogs for vegan spots in Paris and we were not disappointed! My husband and I are both vegans visiting Paris from MN USA. We GPS'd walked our way here. We thought we missed it, but at last, we arrived! We showed up just in time. There were two spot left and we got one of them looking out the window! It was a nice clean restaurant. The service was super fast, and the food came out even faster! Like wow! Lightening speeds! I ordered the vegan Peking Mock Duck. It came on white rice with some fried tofu, sliced cucumber, and tomatoes. The skin on the mock duck was amazing! So close to the real thing. The texture of the meat, was not exact, but still good! We also had the Black Peppered 'Beef' cooking pot! O.M.G!!!! It was so goooood! The sauce was amazing! So full of flavor! It doesn't come with rice, so I gave my husband half of the rice from my dish!! I wish I could have some right now! I also ordered the Nems and vegan fried 'chicken' to go. I wish I could have had it fresh. I enjoyed the fried 'chicken' so much, but was oily. But it's fried chicken, what did I expect. haha. This place was awesome! We were 2 vegans and 1 vegetarian and we had an awesome time. Expect a wait so come early because you can't make a reservation. Food was excellent, menu was extensive, service was great and desserts hit the mark too! My only complaint is seating. They're little tables and little stools and it was really uncomfortable. I know it's to maximize their space but just keep this in mind. Great place for vegans and for sharing foods and passing things - really had an excellent visit and would come back anytime. Something helpful would've been a menu in English so if this is an issue you can only rely on the few menu photos. Came here twice during my trip and could have happily gone a third time but the ambiance is so unpleasant because the space does not come close to accommodating the high volume of their customers. There is hardly any space to walk and barely any to eat, especially when you want to order as much as possible (like we did). It is extremely loud because of all the people packed in like sardines and the service felt very rushed at all times because they could not hide their urgency in needing to clear us out ASAP. The food is delicious, so it makes it worth the unwelcoming dining experience. Highlights were the perfect Papaya Salad (best I've had), Pho (best vegan Pho I've had), Thai Rice (perfectly seasoned), Black Pepper Beef Hot Pot (super delicious and goes perfectly with the rice or pho). I tried three desserts and they were also great. Would not recommend the Pad Thai--needed way more acidity and the fake shrimp was the kind I'm used to that is a miss as well as the noodles becoming soggy soon after arrival. The Ha Kao wrapper was nothing like Ha Kao with the wrapper being way too tough and filling totally bland. I have had a convincing vegan Ha Kao elsewhere where the wrapper and filling tasted very much like the real thing so this was disappointing. The food also comes out very quickly and is usually great so the kitchen is doing a tremendous job. Easily 5* if they can expand/move to a larger location. read more

An excellent first meal in Paris! The food was absolutely delicious (the black pepper beef and ginger chicken were to die for) and the service was super speedy. They offered a menu in English which put me at ease because my French is super rusty and I was nervous about having to put it to the test. Of the two East Asian restaurants I went to in Paris (the other being Bodhi), I had a slight preference for this one. I ordered the satay noodle soup (€11), which came in a clay pot and was very rich and flavourful. I do wish there was more veggies in there. Fairly filling even if the portion was only moderate. Great! Indeed, it is popular, and you'll have to get there on the edge of early side (7ish) to get a seat and not be stuck waiting outside (there's nowhere to wait inside). It's also a tight squeeze, so there's a bit of squeezing through when getting to/from your seat. The food was so delicious! The ambience was nice as well - comfortable but not too fancy, nor too dingy either. And the prices were really reasonable too! I came here about 3 years ago, when I was on holiday with my mom and sister. We were getting tired of heavy, cheese-filled meals, so wanted something more veggie-focused and with Asian flavours, so my mom found Tien Hiang and we made the trek out here. We had a great meal that was memorable enough that we came back a few months ago when my mom came to visit, and then I came back for the third time a few days ago. Each time I've been here the food has consistently been great. If you don't like veggie "meat", maybe its not the spot for you, but if you haven't tried it before it's worth it to give it a go. I came with my meat-eating boyfriend who had never tried soy meat products, and he can't wait to come back. Last week we ordered 3 dishes with one plain rice between two, and it was the perfect amount. We got the caramelized clay pot chicken (which is their specialty, you HAVE to try it), lemongrass beef skewers (came with some veggies and crispy tofu, really good), and then a pork dish, which was also really good but didn't compare to the other two. I think our whole meal came to around 30-35 euros or so (we also had two beers), which is great for the quality and quantity we got. If you're veggie or even just looking for food with amazing flavours, definitely give this place a try! read more

Tien Hiang is more than a restaurant, it's like a second home for a hungry vegetarian who doesn't eat fish and eggs as well. I first visited in 2012 Jan, have been going ever since. Soy is fabricated to look like meat, and even I was skeptical in the beginning, but was proven wrong. Try everything on the menu! My simple favorites are the tofu frites, Cantonese rice and a few other whose names I can't remember (mainly because I'm too busy polishing off the plate). I started with a -Potage au lait de coco-, a delicious vegetarian soup with "shrimp", tomato, champignons paille, "chicken", corn and pineapple! AMAZING SOUP! Then i ordered the -"Porc" a la sauce aigre douce-, served with pineapples, carrots, tomato, cucumber and corn. (this dish you may ordered with tofu or with their vegetarian pork). As the French say, MIAM MIAM! This place is absolutely delicious, and a great find for vegetarians in Paris. It was quite busy when we stopped in around 1:30pm on a Sunday, and got absolutely packed when a group of 10+ walked in and were graciouly accomodated by the small staff (albeit at different communal tables). I took a menu- thai spring rolls, cashew 'chicken,' rice, and a pineapple beignet for 11E, with a 3E Tsingtao to wash it all down. My dining companion had a craving for pho, and even though he eats meat (and plenty of it!) he said that it really hit the spot. I had a bite or two myself, and was amazed at how flavourful the broth was without any meat. Service was very attentive- our mains came out right after we finished the app, and the bill was available without us having to flag anyone down. We'll definitely be back! read more

Hands down, the best vegetarian restaurant in Paris. Just fabulous. This place is always popular and always popping, so try to get here early! If you get here at opening (7 I believe), you should be good since noone eats that early in France usually lol. Anywho, everything on the menu is awesome and delicious and all around fabulous. They are all made with tofu fake meat, and are pretty excellent substitutes for meat. You pretty much won't even realize you're not eating meat. The food is tasty and filling, and the menu is super extensive and covers a variety of Asian dishes. There's really something for everyone. 5 stars because this place is really one of a kind in Paris, where good veggie restaurants are not really a thing. After 7 days of eating food meant for carnivores with the meat eliminated, this restaurant was a gem and is a must visit if you're vegetarian and in Paris. Would be a 5, if not for slow service (which seems to be the norm in Paris). My family shared the pho, banh cuon, clay pot duck w taro, cashew chicken. All were delicious. Oh also, the menu listed something called limonade... Which was nothing close to lemonade but more like flavored non alcoholic beer... Be warned. Being an unapologetic carnivore, yet one who will do the Vegan thing for the bemusement of my precious sweetheart, I have come to know one thing - that when I'm eating at such places, I rarely ever forget that I'm not eating meat. This is one of those places where the food is so delicious, the thought of eating meat didn't once cross my mind. Specifically, the pepper beef dish is so convincing and satisfying - like meat - that I couldn't wait to lock my jaws on it and sink my canines in again - which I did a second time like a ravenous wolf devouring fallen prey. And if I had the luxury of staying in Paris longer, I would've gone a third or or more times. I also experienced pressure from the watchful eyes of the wait staff who appeared to want us to hustle down our food because of the lineups outside (it seems Parisians are not particularly keen on foreign customers and would rather serve locals as they are more likely to return). To combat this, I decided to make it worth their while by ordering a humongous amount of food and 3 desserts just for myself. But that was like asking thieves to guard a jewelry store. The waitress was visibly astonished as she kept jotting down item after item (I don't think Parisians eat like this). Every bite hit my satiety levels like an amusement park hammer ringing the gong at the top of the tower. Let me put it this way, on my next flight to Paris, I will be taking a taxi straight from CDG to this place. read more

Completely funny to eat amazing Chinese food in Paris, but I'm so glad we did. The service was great, and even though there was a bit of a language barrier, they absolutely knew what I meant when I said I couldn't eat gluten. This little lady is getting an upgrade to a 3.75! Since her sister closed up shop a while back, all of the talent from that place came over here to freshen up the menu. This place is now hopping most nights and the food has improved by leaps and bounds. It's now on par with a typical Asian vegetarian restaurant in the Tenderloin in San Francisco, which is not nothing. They've got a big range of options and most things are well done. My friends had been raving about Tien Hiang for days (they have eaten there several times in 1 week) so I decided to come with them, and I'm beyond glad I did. I got the ginger "chicken" with plain rice, both were incredibly flavorful and filling. I also got the thai rolls, which I would not recommend. Get the fried "chicken" appetizer and bring an empty stomach. I'm used to vegan restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area so I'm not over-thrilled but it's definitely satisfactory. read more

When you think of Paris good vegetarian asian food is not generally what comes to mind. At least for me. Tien Hiang has an impressive menue. Soups, spring rolls, kebabs, clay pots, wok dishes...the list goes on and on. I only tried beef and chicken items. The texture of the imitation meat was great, and the dishes were filled with flavor. The service was very friendly, and the chefs will work to accomodate any dietary restrictions you may have (vegan, gluten free, food allergies). If you go I recommend the banana and coconut milk dessert with sesame seeds. It is to die for! read more

Love this place! My husband and I visited twice in one day because the food was so good. They have a really extensive menu of mostly Chinese dishes, but there are some Vietnamese and Thai-inspired dishes as well. I tried the lemongrass chicken, pho noodle soup, a dish that had vegetables and "fish" simmered in coconut milk and they were all amazing. I ordered glutinous rice with chicken wrapped in banana leaves (lo mai gai in Cantonese) because that was one of my favorite foods before I became vegan. I was disappointed, but then again I can't expect it to taste just like the meat version. Just a heads up, this place gets packed really fast during the late afternoon/early evening. read more

One of us is a meat eater, but both of us are always happy here. We find the service efficient and helpful.
