Quite honestly the best vegan food I've ever eaten. Fair prices and a cozy place, but most of all just amazing food.

Breathe - Crispy Shichimi

Unique, delicious, creative and beautiful to behold. The food here is next level. When asked, our…read morelovely, waitperson, Evian suggested we order the Crispy Shichimi, which is a spinach-filled roll with shichimi pepper, sesame sauce, black sesame and pickled red onion artfully strewn atop. When I asked why, she said, "They're crunchy." My eyes lit up. As a vegan I crave crunchy food because so much plant-based food is soft. Evian was right! This roll had texture. It was beautifully presented in eight pieces. Upon the first yummy bite it was apparent this was cooking at another level. The fry was perfectly light and clean. Each bite substantial. The taste memorable. I have never had a sushi roll like it and now I want to live inside the restaurant so I can have it forever. We also got five pieces of the yummy Seitan Crispy, which comes with a lovely Doenjang sauce, that is thick and flavorful. These unique, protein boosts are also cleanly fried, delectable and filling. Lastly, my husband got the small BBQ Donburi which was a bowl of rice, a flavorful bbq soy protein, and some mesclum. He loved it. We sat outside on the lovely side street and chatted with Evian who made our dinner a memorable experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and wish I could bring it back to America. Even better, open up a branch in San Francisco!

It's a gorgeous little place, staff was friendly and helpful, and every bite was enjoyable. As a bonus, the cocktails are creative and amazing! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Breathe to anyone - vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore.

Pretty solid, fancier all-vegan restaurant with very creative dishes. We had a reservation for…read more6:45pm, and good thing we did, as the place was full by 7:30pm. Their food menu has 4 appetizers (€10-14) and 4 mains (€19.50-22). My wife & I split 2 of each: -Sesame Marinated Tofu (€13) -- easily the best dish we got, coming in a soy & lime yogurt base, with the tofu beautifully crusted in sesame seeds and other spices/herbs. Delicious -Grilled Green Asparagus (€14) -- very nicely prepared, served in a cashew cream base, parsley pesto, and arugula. Very nice. -Hazelnuts Mashed Potatoes (€22) -- a bit bland, but the mustard vinaigrette and rooibos & tamari cream were nice as a base; the potato mash lacked flavour though and there wasn't much hazelnut character. -Elicoidali Basil & Balsamic Cream (€21.50) -- nicely cooked pasta dish, with eda mame beans, sundried tomatoes, and covered in a pesto and sunflower seed sauce. A bit bland as well, but reasonably done. Service was quick and helpful. Sparkling water is €4.50, but that is written in the menu which you receive after being asked whether you want still (free) or sparkling water. All in all, great appetizers, blander mains. Might not be worth the price, but the experience overall was good.

We were seated at a two top table and our server brought us a bottle of water to share at the table. My husband also ordered some sparkling water for himself. As for the meal, I decided to try the Sesame Marinated Tofu along with a Mediterranean Salad. My husband chose the Chickpea and Rice Pancake along with the Camargue Rice a la provencale. I was slightly apprehensive at first but once the food came out, I was pleasantly surprised. My Sesame Tofu had so much flavor infused into the tofu. Plus the sesame seeds provided such a nice texture to the dish. The mediterranean salad was also tasty and the inclusion of strawberries and watermelon gave it a nice sweet and savory mix. My husband enjoyed his chickpea pancake, especially the cashew cream it came with. He wasn't as happy with his Camargue rice. He felt it lacked some seasoning but the vegetables were fresh. To finish our meal, we shared the chocolate mousse. It was delicious, especially the caramelized pecans and raspberries. Overall, I was completely satisfied and happy with our decision to come to Le Potager de Charlotte.
