Man this place has got to be on of the oldest taco spots in Oxnard. Even though there are many taco stands around town I still find myself coming here for a burrito. Idk maybe this spot has a just has a special place in my heart. The service is always good. Not gonna lie sometimes it could be a hit or miss. There has been a few times when I noticed the food wasn't as good as the as it was before. I guess we all have good and bad days. This spot is pretty easy to pass by and I only found out about it because a friend recommended tacos from this spot. You order at the counter outside- there aren't any seating options available. They take cash or Zelle. The tacos had a really generous portion of meat so you definitely get your money's worth! The chile relleno burrito is usually really good, but this place is wildly inconsistent. The first time I had it, it was amazing and I couldn't wait to go back. The second time, it was good, but lacking in flavor. Subsequent visits have been hit or miss. This latest time, it was fine but the chile relleno was tiny, so I really just had a bean and rice burrito. Also, I asked for spicy and it was definitely mild. Rarely has an eatery ever been so dirty that it has detracted from my overall experience. Well, Super Taco was kind of expected since it's in Downtown Oxnard, so I just sucked it up and gave it a go. Finally. Carnitas Taco - 3/5. Somewhat dry. I miss the 'deep fried' version from Taqueria El Tapatio. Carne Asada Taco - 4/5. Not bad. Not bad at all. I wish I had ordered two of these instead of... Pollo Taco - 1/5. The chicken was so pink and the fat wasn't peeled off on some pieces. It'll ruin your appetite. Sure it 'might' be marinated, but even the worker had trouble comprehending what I wanted to order (It was the last item on the left hand side of the menu). Thumbs down! Final Mood: Dirty. Wow (3 letter review!) Been to Oxnard a bazillion Times and the last 3 times drove by this place saying: "I gotta check this place out". This time I did - tried 4 chicken street type tacos, you know soft corn shell (small) with cut up onions and cilantro - was going to get three but hay they're small, right? Got a side of Spanish rice with it - the guy asks "hot or mild salsa" - HOT, you bet! These "small" shells were stuffed with tender, almost all white meat chicken, shredded - absolutely delicious - salsa could've been a little hotter - but a solid four star first time experience! Will be back for a breakfast burrito next time....... the rice was good, hot and flavorful with that little extra cup of salsa I was given - $10.75 for a great lunch!!! CABO and El Dorado are my favorites here in town when I want to wash my meal down with some margaritas - this place is perfect for lunch during the work days! read more

THE rockstar taco stand, dive of dives. It's in the worst neighborhood in Ventura County. But I've been coming here since the mid 90's, and although I no longer live nearby, I do return when in the area. I always loved their Chile Relleno burrito, but noticed it's no longer on the menu. I had the carne asada burrito, with extra red sauce. Awesome as always. DO not bring your wife or kids here though. It's a super sketchy area, and has gotten much worse since my last roadtrip here. I never understood why people said that Super Taco was super dirty--I was like "WTF it's a taco stand, it's on the street, of course it's going to be a little dirty." I totally get it now, it wasn't until recently that I discovered that they had an indoor dining area. It's dirty. LOL. Just order at the window outside and take your food to go. I think the reason why the burritos are so good is because of the rice--it's so fluffy and flavorful! Plus, they only cost $3.50 (cheap eats, yay). I'm a fan of the red salsa. It's smoky, as the red chiles are grilled the night before for next day's batch. +1 for being open late; I believe up to 2am Fri-Sat. That's unheard of in Oxnard...wild! read more
