Out of all the barbecue places I have eaten at, this place is one of the best. They have great service and amazing food. The pulled pork and the ribs are in my opinion the best thing there. Also, they have 6 sauces at every table. My favorite is probably the Kansas because it has a very smoky flavor. The place is also pretty clean along with the bathrooms. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice barbecue night out for lunch or dinner. read more

Great place. It seems much improved lately. I used to be disappointed but decided to give it another try. Much better!

Super Smokers has amazing bbq! They actually do make it on site and it fresh (not out of a store bought package). It's worth traveling for!

I haven't even gotten my food yet, but I love this place. If you choose anything besides this restaurant in this area, we wouldn't be friends. Just eat here and thank me later. read more

My wife and I stopped here on the way home from Illinois. The ribs were AMAZING, loved their sweet and sour cole and homemade apple sauce. If you find yourself in the area you must stop and eat here. read more

When there were locations all over, I probably ate here once a week. When they went back to just the one location, it was super far away, so I went just a few times. I live much closer now, so it's back on my radar. I stopped by tonight for a pulled pork sandwich "Memphis style" (slaw on it), ribs, baked beans and fries. Everything was super tasty! The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. It had a light smoke, but not so much you couldn't taste the eat. The ribs still had a bite to them and were a good texture. I am a fan of their KC sauce, but the meat doesn't need any sauce - I use it for my fries. The staff was very friendly and I will definitely be back soon!! read more

The Cuban sandwich comes with pulled pork, smoked Turkey, bacon, pickle spears and sweet Carolina sauce all on Texas Toast... Amazing!! Great job on this little concoction! And the best kept secret here is the handmade bread pudding. read more

Delicious food!! Everyone in the family enjoys eating here. I just saw on their website, that patrons can BYOB. That's amazing! We'll try it out the next time we go. read more

I recently had Super Smokers cater my rehearsal dinner. Besides being extremely pleasant to work with, considering I was planning everything from NY they helped me figured out a catering menu that my out of town guest loved. The Ribs were absolutely amazing and the pulled pork is something I will be coming back for next time I'm in the area!!! read more

Solid bbq. I've had the ribs, pork cubano sand and some other items. Ribs are a highlight. no sauce needed. However these guys have a NUMBER of good sauces. I usually find one that works for me, but this place has four that I really like. Highly recommend this place. Only critique is that the sides are mediocre. The food itself is great. read more

I expect more out of a small town smoke house. The brisket was shaved and flavorless, was wet so I wonder if they just keep it in some beef broth. The green beans tasted as if they came out of a can, no bacon or onion added. They didn't have mac and cheese or corn bread. The fries were old and tasteless. Seriously disappointed. read more

Not bad. Haven't been here in forever and remember it being better. Ordered the mini sampler. Chicken pork and beef. The meat was good. The slaw and potato salad were alright. The sauces were good. Idk.. Just dodnt knock my socks off.. For $11 read more

Not great, but not awful. My only real complaint is that they're so ridiculously stingy when it comes to giving you enough sauce to go with your meal - it's like pulling teeth to get more than a half-full souffle cup! It would be laughable, if not for the fact that you pay so much for lunch and then can't get any sauce to go with it. Instead, it's why I don't go back there any more. Oh, did I mention that they sell sauce by the bottle? Wait a minute, maybe that's why they... nah, couldn't be... read more

BBQ was delicious! Possibly the best I've ever had! Loved the variety of sauces available. The sweet jalapeño cornbread was to die for!

I used to go to Super Smokers about 15 years ago and it was fantastic. These days, it is quite disappointing. I had the pulled pork during my recent visit. As another reviewer noted, there is very little seasoning and only a subtle smoke taste to the meat. The sandwich was served to me with the meat being room temp. The potato salad was okay, not bad, but I've had better from the store. The fries are very disappointing. I like that they bake their fries, but they are very short and they barely give you any. You know how at McDonalds they have the value fries served in that small paper bag? That bag has more fries than the amount of fries that came with my sandwich. The restaurant was chilly and there are registers about every 10 feet that recirculate the air, making it feel even more cold. I wore my jacket the entire time. The soda tap was in disrepair. Every time I went for soda, water would spray out of the front of the tap and soak my hand with cold water as I filled up my cup. It's frustrating to see a once legendary BBQ joint go downhill. All the potential is still there, but the execution is severely lacking these days. With great BBQ places nearby like PM BBQ and Brown Jerry's, I have no reason to return. read more

Wow! I am new to the St. Louis area and just traveling through. This was my first time to eat here and the barbecue was amazing. I ordered the ribs in burnt ends platter with baked beans and coleslaw. The ribs were the best I have ever had - tender with just the right amount of smoke and what a rub! Spicy but not too hot - fresh and bright flavors. Burnt ends - awesome. Baked beans really nice - sweet and spicy balanced. Coleslaw - fresh and tasty vinegar style. Wow, again! read more

Stopped in here today, June 24, 2018. I had eaten a this place a few times back in the early 2000s and love the food here.. So on the way back from a trip to St Louis today, I was anxious to stop and have some of that great BBQ. Unfortunately there was nothing great about it. My girlfriend and I each had the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich had no smoke flavor, actually didnt have much flavor at all. It pretty much tasted like someone just threw a pork roast in the oven and cooked it. It was also tough, with strands of pork being 2 and 3 inches long on my sandwich. With the toughness of the meat, this made eating the sandwich with my hands impossible. I ended up having to get a knife, and trying to cut it up to eat it. As for the sides, the bbq beans were fair, as was the house salad. The green beans, coleslaw, were just like the meat, totally bland and void of flavor. By far , one of my most disappointing dining experiences in a long time! If you are use to really good smoked BBQ, you will be very disappointed with this place. read more

Over the top service at 11:00 am. Food as always excellent. The pretzel appetizer is the best. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the rest rooms were filthy and smelled horrible. read more

Tuesday my husband and I came into supersmokers for my birthday dinner before heading to the city. Usually I'm excited for my full slab to myself. This time wasn't the same. When my ribs arrived to our table I noticed they were not the usual color and honestly didn't even taste fresh. I ate two bones and asked if they had any other slabs that were fresher. The waitress took my plate in back and I could over hear the someone in the back complain that I sent them back. She returned with another slab that was .... A tad better but still not what I had expected when I first came in. I was very displeased but ended up just taking them home and throwing them away the next morning. Very disappointed in the quality of ribs read more

This food was GARBAGE!! The meat had no evidence of being cooked on a grill...was parboiled then baked. The salads were the only thing good. The only thing that makes people think they are getting bbq is because they have 5 kinds of sauces for the crap. THIS IS NOT REAL BBQ!!! WAY HIGH PRICED TOO FOR NOT BEING SMOKED MEAT!!! I highly advise find somewhere else that serves REAL BBQ!!! Don't go here...you will be disappointed. read more

I had a carry out order from Super smokers a couple of weeks ago, It was awefull, I ordered a half chicken plate and received the smallest chicken quarter I have every seen , the chicken was cooked for 3 days to long, the meat was brown and dry and the bone was even brown from being cooked so long, it was nasty, if I lived closer I would have gone back and complained, it was so bad I had to do something else for dinner. read more

I have to admit, I was skeptical about coming here when Mr. G pulled in the parking lot. It's not that I was being a 'food snob' as he so nicely put it when he saw my look of disdain as we pulled in the parking lot, but I never see people here.....ever. I took that as a bad sign. So yes, I was assuming I would be disappointed when Mr. G announced he was taking me to 'a new dinner spot' close to home and we ended up here. The building itself I'm sure has been around forever, it's your typical country BBQ style décor with plaid tablecloths and a paper towel roll right there on the table. The place was dead inside (as it usually looks) and when you go to order, the menu is scrawled on the wall on a large piece of paper, nothing fancy, just nice and simple. I am not a huge fan of BBQ, so I already was wishing that Mr. G would have taken me elsewhere, but I kept an open mind. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which came with two sides; I went with the jalapeno cornbread and baked beans. Mr. G had a FULL slab of ribs (yes, a full slab) with the corn on the cob and coleslaw. As we were waiting for our food, a few people came in for pickup orders, but no one else was in the restaurant eating but us. The food came out a little slower than we expected (probably because of Mr. G's order of a full slab of ribs) so when it came out, we were hungry, and curious as to how it would turn out. Again, I am not a huge BBQ fan, but the pulled pork was pretty good. It was very dry, which I prefer, and there is an array of 6 sauces right there on the table so you can choose what you are in the mood for. My two favorite sauces were the 'Kansas City' (I know, I'm a traitor) and the 'championship' sauce, which had a lot of kick to it. The sandwich was piled very high with meat, so much that I only had about a third of the sandwich and I was done. Next I tried my sides.....and holy cow, was that jalapeno cornbread good. I mean seriously delicious. It was a big square of cornbread perfectly cooked with little pieces of jalapeno and corn inside, just enough to give it a little extra flavor. It was the BEST part of the meal, hands down. The baked beans were fine, but I'm not a huge fan of beans. Mr. G enjoyed his ribs, but of course he ended up taking half of it home with him; it seriously took up two plate lengths, it was huge slab of ribs. Wouldn't you know it, but those rolls of paper towels on the table sure came in handy! If you are coming here to eat, let me save you the trouble of looking over menu....just order the cornbread for ALL of your sides. I wish I would have done the same. All in all, the food here was good. If I could give 3.5 stars instead of 3, I would. I was pleasantly pleased by this place. It's a shame that this place isn't busy, the food is good but it just seems old and the people don't really seem to care if they have the business. Maybe they don't need it, who knows. So, don't be a 'food snob' like me and go try this place or a place close to you that you normally just pass by, you might be surprised by what you find. Lesson learned. read more

After years of hearing about this place I gave it a try today. I got the pulled chicken. I can buy a roasted chicken and bottle of bbq sauce and do same thing at home. Fries were nothing note worthy. Table slightly sticky and plastic glasses worn looking. Such a let down. read more

Stopped by around 11:45 am and stood in line for around 5-10 minutes before I placed my order. Not a bad wait. I ordered 3 pulled pork sandwiches. Nothing fancy or tricky. The gal took my order at 11:55. She asked me to "total my bill and sign it", which is a very nice way of saying "please tip me." Ok, I gave her $3 on a $20 order which I think is pretty decent considering I was placing a to-go order. The word "tips" is an acronym for 'To Insure Prompt Service", by the way. A full THIRTY MINUTES later, I was handed my order. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I noticed that the owner started informing guests that there would be a wait of about 20-25 minutes. I politely told the gal who delivered my food (the same one who took my order) that it would have been nice if I'd been informed of the long wait. She told me that someone had just left to go to the hospital which left them short-handed. Ummmm... ok. That's reassuring. Why? Was he sick? Did he just lose a digit in the meat slicer? Anyway, I can understand that things happen and I hope he's ok. However, if this were my business, I would have tried to compensate my customer who just wasted 30 minutes in a hot restaurant by offering to comp at least part of the meal. Or give them a free dessert or something. Instead, I got attitude. Never coming back. read more

This place is a bit overrated and overhyped. Their array of sauces is great, but their food is definitely sub-par. The ribs have always been tough and quite dry, the sides bland, and other foods similar to these. The service is fast, but once you get your food the service ends. When I've ordered to go they give you one small cup of sauce that is barely full and doesn't cover even a tiny portion of your food. read more

Variety of sauces. Tried 2 of them, both were good. The pulled pork is the way to go. The brisket was chewy, would not recommend.

I live in the Kansas City area & ouch this place hurt. I felt like I was in the 1st grade with my 2 ounces of french fries, 2 ounces of cole slaw & brisket & pulled pork that tasted like it had sat outside during the 100' weather. On a scale compared to the worst around here I would give this place a 2 @ best. At least they didnt charge to sit in the chairs. Save your $20.00 & go to a Price Chopper or Hy-Vye & you would do better. PS They didnt charge for the lemon in the water. read more

I have been going to this place since it has opened and it is as good as its ever been. I live in Springfield and every time I make a trip to St. Louis I have to stop and eat, usually getting something to go as well. These guys really know how to smoke meat and have it down to a science. After my last trip to Super Smokers in Eureka I felt compelled to write a review. I ordered ribs, baked beans and potato salad, wow did it hit the spot! The service was great and I did not have to wait long to get my food. There are 6 sauces on the table but with their flavor you don't really even need any. I have recommended this place to many people, all whom have been very satisfied. Give it a try! read more

It was 4th of July and we were really looking forward to some ribs. We got carry out got ribs home and they were so bad I had to take them back. They were rubbery and full of fat. The cashier was happy to replace for me and showed me their method of checking for doneness. Got the second slab home and they were dry and rubbery. So I am writing this review only to steer people away because if it's this bad there's little hope for improvement. read more

Short version: DON'T GO! I had heard good things about this place for years, and the Yelp reviews mostly say "great" - wish I would have looked at Trip Advisor's first, which seem a little more accurate, although a few great ones are inexplicably mixed in there, too. So, four adults and my 3 year old granddaughter decided to eat there on March 26, 2016 when we were in the area for something else. It was our first, and last, experience there. Service You order at a counter and get your own drinks, which I didn't know at first. I noticed some reviewers on Yelp have ranked service as "great." I don't understand how you can experience great service, when there basically is no service. At any restaurant, a bare minimum expectation is for them to be pleasant and efficient and accurate when they take your order and provide your food. If they do that, it's not "great" service. The woman at the counter who took our order, and the one who brought our food, were pleasant enough, and our orders were accurate. However, the counter person did not give me the drink glasses or silverware we needed, and I had to make a return to the counter. Because it was my first (and, did I mention last) time there, I didn't know to ask for them before I left the counter the first time. Because she offered none, I assumed the silverware was on the table, wrapped in napkins as it often is at casual dining restaurants, and that they brought the drinks to the table. In short, the place offers almost no service (it's like a fast food joint in that regard), and the little bit they did, they got wrong. Prices Prices are definitely not cheap. On par with a Dalie's, Pappy's, or Sugarfire, and higher than Bandanna's, but the food is far inferior to all of those places, and even a few I know that have went out of business. And, with a Sugarfire location recently opening about 15 minutes east at Hwy. 141 and I44, I predict that Super Smokers won't be in business much longer. Food I had the half slab and two sides (potato salad and corn on the cob), and my meal tasted fine - nothing special, and inferior to the places mentioned above, but the taste was acceptable. However, it was delivered less than warm (and the place wasn't busy), and the ribs had a real tough, maybe burnt, patch near one end, so I couldn't eat most of the last three ribs. Maybe a bad cut, or just a bad batch, but at almost $14.00 for the plate, it was disappointing not to get it all. I also had the Louisiana bread pudding, which appeared to be Angel food cake, not bread. Maybe if you like AF cake, you'd like it, but I don't and didn't. If you are going to fundamentally alter a recipe/dish to put your spin on it, fine, that's what a lot of restaurants do - just let people know when they order bread pudding that it's not bread. I ate one bite of the $4.99 desert, which was also delivered to the table less than warm. The other three adults had food so bad they didn't even finish it - two mini sampler platters and the pick two with ribs and brisket. None had anything good to say and described the brisket as old and rubbery and the food as generally not warm. Their fries looked straight out of the Ore-Ida bag. And, my granddaughter's $5.50 mac and cheese looked straight out of the Kraft box. Nothing wrong with Kraft mac and cheese, but not at $5.50, and one reason I go to restaurants is to get food I can't get at home or not easily get at home. And, it takes a lot of guts to charge that much for a pouch of boxed mac and cheese, served less than warm, a small cup of applesauce, and a drink. Which, by the way, she didn't even get - they serve no milk! Any restaurant that has small children eat there ought to have a milk, or at least a juice, option. Many young kids, including her, don't get caffeinated or highly sugared drinks, like soda or fountain lemonade. So, she had to have water - but there was no offered discount off the price. Cleanliness But what really was the clincher was not the mediocre-to-poor service, mostly less-than-acceptable food, or average-to-above-average prices for said bad food, but the place was just not clean. I can understand on any given day that the counter person or the cook is having a bad day - no one gets everything at their job right every day, or the place is training someone new, or they got a bad shipment of ribs or brisket from their supplier that slipped through the restaurant's quality control. Odds are, though, that not all of that happens at once with five different meals, so my first (and, did I mention last) experience there was probably no fluke, but, it takes a LOT longer than one bad day for a place to get this dirty. I don't see how it passes health inspection. And, what absolutely sealed the deal of no return was roaches in the women's bathroom (one dead, and one alive). I wonder how many more live ones are in the kitchen. I haven't been to Rigazzi's on the Hill in 25 years because of the same pr read more

Such ashame! A slab of ribs from Supersmokers has long served as a treat for myself, when in the area, and-or a gift for others. Not any more. After 3 horrible slabs I wouldn't even feed my dog; EXTREMELY salty, rub, I give up. Once, I had heard an older gentleman complain about previous rub and question current rub. The employee in back assured him it was fine-normal. I did try one more time after dropping $70 bucks in previous purchases. A wise guy manager came out and looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about! I worked in food service 15 yrs and was trying to help. He acted, like, what did I expect him to do, try the food regularly, DUH, yeah, if you wanna stay in business! He then did a buy one get one deal for me on 2 slabs to go. Turned out I, again, had two slabs to pitch, BUT, for half the price. Wonderful! They've got a slab sign out now, and, others are correct. Used to be you saw stuff in the smoker as you arrive. Not the case anymore. Somebody's too stupid to know, once you run off customers, they don't come back. And, too many sites like Yelp to get the word out ahead of time. POOR MANAGEMENT is always the downfall. Who cares what they once won, there food is barely edible, now, and no one seems to care. Too bad they didn't sell the business before they ran it into the ground. read more
