Miller's Grill is a good place for Sunday dinner. It's not flashy, it's comfortable. I ordered the bacon wrapped pork loin served over rice. My friend ordered the grilled salmon. For a side I got the vegetable medley (broccoli, carrots and yellow squash), she got a baked potato. Entrees are served with a slice of Texas toast and a salad. We both got the raspberry balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It was a pleasant change of pace. The kitchen timed food delivery perfectly. We both had finished our salad before the entrees came to table. My medium well pork loin was moist and tender. The peach hot pepper glaze did not overwhelm the pork. It gave a sweet with mild fire kick to the dish. I rarely take my leftovers home but I did this time. It will be my lunch today. The service was good. This was my first dinner visit here but it will not be my last. read more

Its ok, i ordered catfish and a salad and a pina colada. I received 3 small catfish pieces, and a lot of sauce, really small portion. Found a hair in the salad, and in my brothers soup, always find hairs when we come here. We dined here last week and arrived before 6 pm. The parking lot had many cars and we almost didn't stop, but surprisingly, we were seated immediately. Our server was there in a jiffy and gave us the time we needed to place our order. Our order arrived in a timely manner and the food was hot. The tasty grilled salmon on a bed of rice came with sides and Texas toast for $19. The 8 oz Top Sirloin cooked medium arrived as requested with sides and Texas toast for $18. They had a raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing that was quite good. We each had a Perfect Margarita @ $7.29 a pop (very tasty). Keep in mind that this is not a "steak house" so if you're looking for a steak-to-die-for, you might wish to head into the Lou - but - not being a steak connoisseur myself, it suited me just fine. This place is consistently inconsistent. You never know if the food or the service will be the issue. Tonight it was the service. After we ordered our meal, our waitress was MIA. My dad ordered a water with his beer, but the water never came, had to ask a second time. Our food was brought out by posssibly a manager, hard to tell. My dad ordered a salad with his all-you-can eat catfish. It didn't come out first, but instead we had to ask about it when the entrees were brought out. The water and salad were brought out by the hostess, still unclear where our waitress was. She had to come back to ask what the dressing was, clearly the salad was not put in. My mom asked the hostess for a refill on her iced tea but she didn't put any ice in it. The waitress said she was new, but it was not very crowded so I don't think being new is an excuse for her unattentiveness. My club sandwich was ok. Lemonade, I've had better. I have always had good experiences at Miller's Grill in WashMo. Lately, it seems to be even better. My wife ordered a steak recently, and it was really quite good. She tends to prefer my home cooked steaks, and rarely gets one at a restaurant because they rarely do it right, and they are expensive. That just isn't the case here. And, their catfish is the best around. The people here are VERY friendly, too. The drinks are great. It's a fun environment, and one of my favorite restaurants in town. Highly recommended. read more

We thought we would try this place while exploring the town. The food was fine, but the experience with our waitress was very bad. Maybe she was having a bad day, but her personality and lack of interest in our issues is what irritates me the most. It all started when we asked for the type of wine, and she explained they have basic wine and mentioned Pinot Noir which is a red wine, we ordered that and she came with Pinot Grigio which is a white. When we informed her we did not want the white and she did tell us Pinot Noir , well she was unhappy. Then our meals came, and I informed her we did not have our salads yet, she checked her notes, and came back with salads set them abruptly on the table and left quickly. Not sure why she looked at notes since both entries include a salad. I will try this place a second time, but will not accept this waitress again. read more

Arrived on a Friday evening a bit after eight, we were seated right away. However, we easily waited close to ten minutes for our Server to ever greet us. We noticed one employee chatting with a couple two tables over, we had a hunch she was our Server, but alas, she never peeled away from her conversation to greet us. Finally, a young man saw the looks on our faces that we were not comfortable. He asked if anyone had greeted us after being seated. Things got better from there, except my wife's steak was under-cooked. They attempted to make things right with a flood of apologies, including perhaps two managers helping. Not sure they really were sorry when they never offered a discount or compensation to put a better feeling to this. More than likely, we won't be returning. This was another one of our "try a new place before we repeat" places. We walked in on a Sunday evening. Quiet atmosphere, and not many people inside. We were greeted nicely and seated promptly. Drink specials and dinner specials were offered. I took advantage of the all you can eat catfish dinner. Perfectly cooked and plentiful. The "true" steak fries were thick and crispy ended, soft middled and full of flavor. My wife and youngest shared fantail shrimp and steak. There was not much left! My oldest had the pulled pork sandwich and said it was good as well. Nice place to take the fam after church or in the evening. We will return someday. Thanks for the good eats! read more

We had a reservation at Miller's Grill for a larger party (which we put in several weeks ago). We arrived before our scheduled time, fully prepared to wait at least a little while because it was mother's day and the restaurant had said they'd get one table rotation in before our reservation. (So basically, we'd just have to wait if that table sat for a long time). After a a while, we found out that another group had been seated at the table we were waiting for. The manager claimed they were behind, but there wasn't time for two reservations before us so we didn't really understand what had happened. We had several small children in our party and we ended up waiting over an hour and a half before we got seated. This kindof wait isn't fun with a bunch of hungry kids. As we're sitting down, we realize the table is short 5 chairs. They told us they were bringing another table. We waited. No other table ever showed up, so one chunk of our group finally just went to sit somewhere else because we were all hungry. Several people in our party tried speaking with a manager and he was incredibly rude, saying "I never guaranteed your reservation."....I mean, isn't that what a reservation is? A guaranteed spot? When we threatened to leave he basically said he didn't care. As I stated before, we were all fully prepared for a wait when we arrived, but 90 minutes was a bit ridiculous. The manager never offered us anything to make up for it. No free appetizers or desserts or a discounted meal. He truly did not care that we were unhappy. I've worked in many restaurants in the past, and any time there's an issue like that we ALWAYS offere something to make them feel a little better. It's just good customer service. I will say, the waitstaff did a fine job. They were busy and you could tell our waitress was a little flustered (she was very apologetic and seemed a little nervous, actually). I have no complaints there. The food isn't bad. I wasn't happy with my meal this time (catfish wrap...couldn't find the catfish, so it was basically a coleslaw wrap) but have been in the past, and I Think everyone else was happy. But just know that if you go during a busy time, even with a reservation, you're probably gonna wait forever. And if anything is wrong, the manager won't do a darn thing to take care of you. Miller's has a great location. It's about a minute away from the center of town, so it's close, but still not as hectic as it might be on the main drag. I like to eat in the smoking section even though I don't smoke because the room is more of an open space. They've got a few tables in the open area, booths along the walls, and a bar. If feels a lot more social. There's still plenty of privacy, but you can at least see other diners. The dining room is mostly booths with large dividers that seclude you from other diners, almost as if you are the only table there. Can feel a little weird. The food is stuff that you know, but maybe done just a little bit different. Appetizers are quite good. They make their own tortilla chips, and the mozzarella sticks are delicious. The breading used for frying is really tasty and not too crunchy or hard. They know how to make a salad. I hate when I order a side salad at a restaurant and it comes on a miniature plate with just lettuce and tomato. It's not like that at Miller's. Lots of chopped veggies, cheese, and their dressing are unique. Not just your typical Italian or ranch. The fries are so good, perfectly crispy, medium thickness, and with a little bit of seasoning so they don't taste so generic. I've never had a bad piece of meat either. The barbecue ribs are so tender, and the steak is very good for the price. Burgers are pretty good, too. Service is always top notch at Miller's. I've never had to wait for a table, and the waiters and waitresses are very friendly, fast, and they take care of you. I don't know if they still do this, but if you bring in a ticket stub from the local movie theater, Cinema 1 Plus, you get your drink for free. read more

We stumbled upon this place. I'm glad we did. I had the pork tenderloin and it was awesome. My son had the chicken tenders. You could tell they were not the typical frozen tenders dropped in the fryer. These things were huge and delicious. Prices were reasonable. My husband had the all you can eat ribs and they were surprisingly good....fall off the bone good. I had the buffalo chic sandwich and sweet potato fries. The fries were good but sweet which isn't my personal taste. My son had the kids chic strips and the breading was outstanding. His strawberry shake was awesome with a scoop of ice cream on top. It's not terrible, but there are other restaurants offering much better food for your time and money around Fort Leonard Wood. We went here on the recommendation of the guy at our hotel front desk. My friend says his catfish was just so-so. I had fettuccine alfredo and it was alright. nothing to write home about. It was generic diner food but their menu leaves out important details about the food. For instance: they put sugar on their sweet potato fries. Not having been warned and expecting yummy salty sweet potatoes, I was a little weirded out, but I think it could work if you're looking for a not too sweet dessert. In my experience, this restaurant is over priced, with servers who clearly do not enjoy working here. The food quality is average with a few above average exceptions, but this is only the case if there are no other tables or else the restaurant cannot handle the workload. Furthermore, from my booth I was able to see into the kitchen (which is loud and vulgar) where the servers were fingering the food and handling it when they had clearly not washed their hands. And having spoken to the owner and operator Larry Miller, he was clearly hostile and unpleasant. On top of this all, the servers are willing to tell you the unpleasantries with in the business such as the drama that occurs with in the restaurant. I would never return and would never pay 12 dollars for a salad. If I could give it lower than a 1 Star I would. read more

Nice atmosphere, food was good, except for the watered down salad dressings. My husband had the poppy seed and I had ranch, they were so watered down it made the salads disgusting. I hate when restaurants do that, it's such bad business. So they saved a few bucks on the dressing but we will not be back because it just ruins the meal. Especially when your meal is a big specialty salad. Stop watering down the dressings, you lose customers that way so how much are you really saving????
