okay, here's the thing: after enjoying a variety of draft ciders recently Angry Orchard doesn't quite cut it and boulevard wheat isn't what I was hoping for... bar has a nice view of the river if you're looking that way, otherwise it's a bar... a bar with lots of TVs (at least eight) assaulting my senses with the sad drama and simulated pagentry of the NFL draft. otherwise lots of natural light from a few well placed windows and some electric lights dangling from the high ceiling. regular crowd of regulars coming and going, drinking and driving, and all like that until I walk in and take somebody's seat for a disappointing cider as prelude to a patty melt and rings for a substantial upcharge (BK is same/same) burger is kinda mashy and juicy despite it's generally well doneness as all melty pats are :-) breads are tasty and toasty and represent the breed well although I prefer something a crustier and more substantial. the biggest area for improvement would be ring pricing; a little more for a little less would go a long way with me but I understand that onions don't grow on trees... final thoughts: the low production values of the NFL draft would make me stop watching football if I liked it, which I don't because of this type of f*chery. read more

The sign when we walked in said to seat ourselves. We did and no one ever came to help us and we left 15 minutes later. No menus, water, not even a nod that they would be right with us. Waitress after waitress walked past us and they never bothered. read more

We stopped by Marquarts Landing for lunch. The patio is roomy and tables are not close together. We ordered a house salad for each of us and a pizza. Both dishes were delicious! Unfortunately we were waving flies away from our food. We finally anchored a napkin over the pizza and it worked fine. read more

View is incredible, this spot is housed in a cozy historic building on the waterfront. The waitress was friendly and water glasses filled. The ravioli (a regional specialty) was crispy and came with a red sauce. I asked for my steak to be medium (and specifically said pink throughout). The "sautéed mushrooms" were from a can. There were almost no peppers. When I pointed out the overdone steak to the waitress, she said they get different cooks on the back and she said she would discount the bill (by $2) but did not offer to bring out a medium cooked steak. This was a while back. Hopefully the food quality has improved because the view is truly wonderful. read more

I really enjoyed this restaurant. Upon walking in my sister and I was immediately greeted and shown to a table. Donovan was our server. He was friendly, helpful and eager to assist . The ambiance reminded me of the sitcom Cheers! Heated indoor area , decorated with Xmas decorations. Looking outside you can look into beautiful waters and listen to the Amtrak train as it passes by. They offer an holiday cocktail list that did not disappoint. The Grinch and Jack Frost were the choices . I attached the ingredients list below. Meat pizza was incredibly delicious. Across from the train station. Marquart's has a large menu. As we were deciding the friendly and efficient server (Sydney S.) told us about the 'Monday Special'. It was the perfect suggestion! Delicious and just right for the late evening. Thank you Sydney. Being a Monday, other diners/drinkers were 'tame', but with lots of room, and an outdoor patio, I'd guess it could get pretty lively on weekends. When in Washington, we'll be back. read more

Went there about a month ago after not eating there in over a year or so. We really enjoyed their pizza in the past, so we ordered pizza again. Tasted like a Jack's frozen pizza. Very little flavor and just barely warm. The couple we went with both ordered salad and mentioned that it was mediocre at best. Probably won't be back anytime soon. The Washington area has sooo much to offer, that it was hard to pick a place for dinner after a local event. We decided on Marquart's based on previous experience (at least 8 previous visits when I used to frequent Washington about 15 years ago...) and this evening with the family, certainly brought back those memories. As far as the food, it was great! Honestly the burger was supremely flavorful! A perfect blend of beef to fat content that grilled up to a juicy, flavorful, and thick patty, cooked to the server suggested medium. Bacon and cheddar cheese topped it, along with a buttered and toasted bun. Honestly is was the best burger I've had in recent memory, comparing this style of fresh ground and grilled up thick burgers to places in St. Louis like Sheamus, O'Connell's, and Michaels. The burger I was served 9/12/25 at Marquart's beats all three as far as flavor of the beef is concerned. As far as the rest of the food, the fries were pretty standard, and the mozzarella bites were good too, but breaded or possibly fried in the same breading mix or oil as mushrooms. I personally love fried mushrooms, but that flavor wasn't something I was expecting in my fried mozzarella. Kind of ruined the mozzarella flavor experience IMO. One of my friends ordered an appetizer of fried pickle chips and said they were pleasantly spicy, something he wasn't expecting, although i did not try them to verify. A can't speak to what the rest of the members of my party had, but it all looked pretty tasty too. Cheese pizza, Ribeye sandwich, Turkey club, different burgers, etc. Only thing I need to mention to the negative, is that the speed of food service was pretty slow. When we first arrived we were told that food was about an hour wait, but that we could get a table and drinks. This was fine with us since we had time to kill, but that hour felt like an eternity when your hungry and have young kids with you. Again, we were warned and agreed to the terms, but unfortunately this may mean that next time were in the area we may end up choosing somewhere else if the wait for food is projected to be this long again. Bottom line... Marquart's Landing is a great stop right on the river front for bar and grill type food. The burger is FANTASTIC and the most flavorful I can recall having in recent memory. They also offer a plethora of appetizers, sandwiches and pizzas, so if your looking for a fun spot on the riverfront, right across from the train stop, Marquart's Landing is an easy choice. read more

We stumbled upon Marquart's Landing and I asked a couple coming out the door if the food was good. They responded favorably and we were quite hungry so we gave it a go. There's a small indoor area that seemed a little dark and it was pretty nice out so we chose to sit in the courtyard. On the other side of the courtyard there was a bar area that was open to the outside and had additional tables. There were some televisions with baseball playing. We were sat next to the stage, where a singer was warming up. That was fine and good but there was also a radio playing so the combination of the two (especially since we were under a speaker) was a bit much. The radio was eventually turned off before the singer started his set. We were so hungry I forgot to take photos of the food before we dug in! I ordered the spicy brisket sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich was very good! The brisket was tender and delicious and had a sauce that combined bbq and hot sauce. It was a good marriage of flavors! There was also cheddar cheese and it was served on a hoagie. The onion rings were okay, but it seemed like maybe the oil they were fried in needed to be changed out. There was a slightly fishy flavor to them. My husband ordered the chicken nachos, which was a large portion of chips, chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and queso. Salsa, sour cream and jalapeños were served on the side. He ate them all, which surprised our waitress - and he felt they were average. We normally have dine in. The last couple of time the food has been wrong or cold. The waitresses act like they don't care. The last time my husband food was cold and she asked did him, if he waited a long time to take a bite. Today we got take out. My mother in law picked it up. The pizza we ordered was suppose to have jalapeños on half. When we opened the box they were all over the pizza. Then after taking a better look it was green peppers. Went today,very disappointed! Food was trash, service sucked, bag salad, ordered appetizers that never came, brought the wrong pizza, Ordered nachos as entree and the hamburger was very cold like it just came out of refrigerator, and they didn't heat it up. I would've sent the nachos back, but the waitress never came back to ask how the food was! Will never go back there to order ANY food. Maybe drinks on patio, but will eat before we go. Lively place on the waterfront that promises excellent service and quality food. Our server was prompt, informative, and was helpful. The food was not to disappoint - patty melt was seasoned well, not greasy, and toasted just right. It really hit the spot. The Reuben was balanced with melt in your mouth cheese and corned beef. The rye had just enough tang to make you take notice of the true Reuben sandwich. The chicken wings were fried decently and I had one - forgetting my mom got the sauce in the side. The sweet potato puffs could have been more crisp and was dusted with a cinnamon sugar that reminded me of a sweet potato pie, without the marshmallows. The food here is consistently not great. The burgers are always dry, they don't have that fresh burger taste but rather cheap frozen patty feel. The chicken wings are always small and dried up, usually cooked way longer than they need to and there is never enough meat to make it worth it. I usually come here once a year and then I'm reminded why I haven't been here in a year. read more

I was in the area of Washington Mo for a shopping and lunch day out with the girls and discovered this little gem of a restaurant. It's sits right off of a river and is surrounded by other restaurants and shops. I'm glad that I was able to try this restaurant because the food was delish, from the appetizer of Honey hot chicken wings and the grilled chicken wrap and fries. The others in my party had a cheeseburger, fries, and a chicken quesdilla and fries, and we all agreed that the food was GREAT. I also tried a long island, which it out of the norm for me, but I'm glad that I did because it was great as well. My one and only complaint was that my food came out before the others in my party and the waitress did not explain that there was a back up in the kitchen and the other food would be a while to come to the table, I had to stop the waitresses and ask what was the deal, that's when we found out it was a back up in the kitchen. Overall, my experience was a good experience. However, when I'm in Washington Mo again, I'll try one of the neighboring restaurants. read more

After finally being seated, we waited over 10 minutes without a single greeting or acknowledgment from any staff. No "hello," no "we'll be right with you"--nothing. Marquarts Landing really landed for us. We were catching the Amtrak back to KC with some hours to spare, and this iconic place is located directly across the street from the Washington train station. We were starving, so everything tasted extra good. I got a burger that was standard, and the fries were really good. My friend got a STL style pizza that looked good if not light on toppings. We also split for fried pickle chips that were alright. The big patio brought it home for us on a nice afternoon. Service was good, but being outside and taking in the small, nice areas around Washington were great. This place is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades and seems to be very popular (it was jam-packed at 2 p.m. on a standard Monday afternoon), and it's worth checking out if you're around. read more

The quality of food has drastically dropped. The food was bland and poorly prepared. The sandwiches were mostly bread with slices of Kraft, processed cheese, minimal meat, and lots of lettuce.
