Shelby pulled a down east blackberry for me and everything seemed right with the world until the we were advised that the sampler wasn't available as advertised... yeah, fine, whatever, sub this and that and it's close enough because poppers, mushrooms, onion rings, and green beans... ordered up two breakfast burgers in the meanwhile and juan shows up to help with the sampler and stuff and when the burgers arrive they're smashed doubles which is a lot of meat under a hashbrown patty under the egg which grant said was too much but I manage to work my way around it slowly and with serious intent which was probably not the smart move because my heart started to hurt a little - good thing I'd got a second cider before attempting it... grant wasn't too impressed with the garlic-parm fries but I found the regular fries to be exceedingly regular and good with ketchup :-) dark inside with lots of TVs and heavy wood that somebody took a hot iron to leaving the lumbering equivalent of frat boy tattoos, it's dark outside as well but with strung lights over the sidewalk. grant says there's some tom foolery available off the bar and some sanctioned gaming as well. not my cup of meat but they don't make anyone play who doesn't want to. the regulars appear well attended and if I stayed near that could be an option. read more

Traveled from Illinois to drop my puppy off for a neuter in Union. Had a couple of hours to kill and wandered up to Washington, MO where I found this place along the river in the historic area. Greeted warmly at the door, grabbed an open seat at the bar. Solid tap beer options, had a Four Hands Incarnation IPA, ordered garlic and parmesan wings. Beer was cold, wings were hot and flavorful, service friendly and attentive. Exactly the experience I was looking for on a pretty fall day. read more

Oh my... So, occasionally, you find a bar even in a high tourist area, such as this riverfront, that just isn't for people from out of town. While this is a nice-looking place. I was not welcome. I ordered a beer from a bartender who just wanted to get back to the regulars that sat at one end of the bar and watched the show that had been tuned in on all of the 20 TVs. I didn't try their food. This place was ok. We were looking for a quick spot to stop in for lunch after our nephews basketball game. Surprisingly, a lot of places seemed to be closed on a Sunday, but this place was open. We walked in and had to seat ourselves. You could tell immediately that they were short staffed. There was one bartender and two waitresses. Both waitresses running around like crazy. None of the tables were cleared, we could hear them both complaining to one another and we heard several customers state they were unhappy with either their food or the service. One of the items (buttered penne) on the kids menus that we wanted to order for our son supposedly wasn't served that day, so right off the bat, I was a little disappointed. Their food all comes in those tin to go containers, which was a little odd. Everything seemed sort of dirty. I honestly didn't take any pics because I was just wanting to eat and go. I came for a shopping day and ran into this pretty area with beautiful views and Amtrak sounds. My sister and I decided to try this spot for some kind of new food and drink options. What a mistake , we walked in and didn't even get a welcome of any sort . They were kinda busy but not so busy you can't greet incoming customers. We stood at the front waiting for some kind of interaction for a min of 10 min, I decided to walk around and noticed no tables were available anyway but to not even get a genuine smile from anyone and some sort of communication is just ridiculous. Once I left this rude establishment and went across the street to Marquart's who welcomed us whole heartedly ,I came to this establishment reviews and wished I would have read them before even walking in. We got both types of cheese curds which were pretty good. Meals: Southwest chicken wrap- was ok but not much chicken. Much more lettuce to chicken ratio Baja fish tacos- the corn tortillas were fried so they couldn't be eaten as tacos. Otherwise pretty tasty. Cowboy burger (substituted for turkey burger)- very good! This place has the perfect patio. We sat outside and watched boats coming off the river and lots of activity in the area. It took a few minutes to get a waiter, but once they realized we were there they were on top of it. I had the house salad with blackened chicken. It was ok, but that was fine because the atmosphere was perfect. My husband had a steak sandwich and it was just ok. We have been in a few times. Casual atmosphere, great food, great drink selection. On our most recent trip, we watched part of the Battlehawks game while enjoying great burgers. I tried waiting at the front door to get someone's attention to be seated at the patio as there were 4 open tables; bartender ignored me which is fine I understand she had things going on, but I felt awkward standing in the doorway and figured if I just sat down at a patio table a server would eventually help me when she came to check on the gentleman at the table next to me. The server with dyed red hair came to check on them then walked right past me, I even tried getting her attention to ask for a menu. A table of five sits at the table next to me, the server walks right up to them and says she'll be back with menus. I figured maybe she would bring me a menu when she gave the bigger table next to me menus. The server continued to ignore me. Being someone that works in the industry I felt I was understanding and patient so I was in disbelief by her blatant disregard of a customer. I got up and left. A very nice spot for lunch. We went because they have a dog friendly patio. A partial view or the river was a bonus. Service was very quick and I enjoyed the local Pinkley Bend gin and tonic that they have on tap. My wife and I started with. An order of pretzels, and I had the mushroom Swiss burger and she had the crispy chicken bites. The burger is a double patty so bring your appetite. The chicken had a bit too much sauce for my wife's liking, but they had good flavor. We shared an order of onion rings as well. Finally, a beer selection worthy of 5 stars. With around 30, forgive me I lost count as I was sampling, beers on tap you have a wide variety to chose from. As we all know, there are times you want to try a new brew but don't want to fork out the dough for a pint only to find out after the first sip that although labeled as an IPA it was not your style. What to do, what to do.....well ask the bartender for a sample, or a bunch of them! My hats off to Logan who was tending the bar that evening. He was pleasant, moved us from the samples we were choosing to the next in order to help refine what we were in the mood for, and made one hell of a white gummy bear!! Will not return. Blonde bartender confiscated my boyfriends REAL ID, age of 25 years old. Wouldn't serve us food or anything until cops came and verified his ID WAS REAL. Told us "this isn't real" and argued because it was an out-of-state ID. Cop told bartender it was 100% real and verified the ID was valid. Very rude. Blonde Bartender was condescending and acted like she was better than everyone at the table. Manger was very RESPECTFUL about the process and apologized many times. Inaccurate menu. Ordered spicy cheese curds to be told they don't have them or carry them anymore. Then ordered jalapeno mac bites. No jalapeno at all, they were bacon mac bites. Then I chose to get a bbq bacon burger which says smash style pattys. These things were 1/2 inch thick and not even done well that way. Hard on one side from being overcooked. It was supposed to have pulled bacon on it. It had regular bacon and he said they don't have pulled bacon anymore. Its all over the menu as a addon and in entrees so not sure what happened there. My wifes chicken sandwich didn't have hummus on it like it stated. Server never refilled our drinks. Overall it seemed like bar that served mediocre food for people with a few drinks in them. Not sure how it got best burger of 2024. If they would like I can come show guys how to make a real smash burger its actually 80% faster than thick patties. They either need to make the food properly or change the menu because we didn't get one thing correct that we ordered. Would've been one star but we the bar looked cool atleast. Would give 0 stars if I could. Me and my friend have recently turned 21 in November and were denied service because our IDs were "fake" by a bouncer. Politely asked if they had another way to verify my REAL id and he said they did not. Horrible service. Took forever to order. Informed the waitress we needed to leave in an hour.
