The taps!!
Norman L.

Felt like a place people go to drink, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you should no going in. Also a pretty big food menu and most people were eating at the bar. Bartenders were friendly and helpful. My biggest complaint was they had 109 beers on tap and I am not sure how fresh some of the more obscure ones were. We tasted a few that were a little flat tasting. But the ones we ended up ordering were great.

This place can be a real mixed bag. First off it's been around for about 7 years and I've never seen or heard of it! With that big barrel door you would think it would be hard to miss, but its location in a strip plaza behind another strip plaza makes it nearly impossible to stumble across. I loved the interior! It was very spacious and well decorated with televisions all over the place, a perfect spot to watch sports! Some booths even have TVs in them. There is even a game room with a pinball machine, an arcade cabinet and some gambling machines. Having all those beer options was a good problem to have! I chose some pretty obscure ones and both were fresh and tasted great. Even the appetizers we ordered were wonderful! The pretzel was delicious with just the right amount of crunch and the pickle spears were some of the best we have ever had! The big problem was my entree. I ordered the 4 steak sliders, menu made them sound great, piled high with toppings. Now we ordered our entrees to go so I didn't get a chance to eye my food until we got home. I kid you not one of my sliders didn't even have meat on it. It was so skimpy and these were not cheap sliders. Steak sliders were about 19 bucks and that is an issue with Barrels, for a bar and grill, they are expensive! So overall the entree was a 1 star but the rest of the experience was a 5 star, I was generous because staff was attentive and courteous so I gave the overall experience a 4 star.

Nice beer (crafts and more) selections! Good food options with standard pub fare menu including apps, sandwiches, burgers, pizza etc. Sports bar/restaurant feel, super casual, lots of TV's, open bar area seating plus sit-down restaurant area - think this used to be BW3 location now converted to Barrels. Service was friendly and efficient on a Thursday afternoon for HH. Overall 3.5 rated experience today for drinks, food and service. Expect to pay $10-20pp depending what you order. Today we tried Barrels having bought our STL 2023 PubPass on line; and excited to use for 1st time because you get a FREE beer plus passport stamp with your Pub Pass at each location in the book. Importantly we learned that each brewery/restaurant has their "own" rules about your complimentary beer. At Barrels, we had to order 2 paid beers to get a 3rd one free for each pub pass. All was good since we got to try several different IPA beers; however I thought it was a big ask to require purchasing a Pubpass book, then still had to buy 2 beers before getting a free one. Apps were mentioned to be 1/2 off during HH, but the sampler platter ordered, which was plentiful with warm Pretzel, toasted Ravs, Cheese & Pepperoni bites, fried Pickle spears and dips did not receive the HH discount offered, so I was disappointed here. Food was tasty though and served hot, just ensure you ask server for clarification of items available for specials, and check your bill for correct charges. Decent local spot to get a cold brew and variety of bar foods. Glad I tried a new place. Enjoy!

Chicken tenders

Stopped in here to watch some football and enjoyed the place. The place is big with lots of TVs to watch sports. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. She came by pretty often to check if we needed anything. For food we started with the pretzel and it was huge. The beer cheese that came with it was very good. We liked the mustard too but it was just average. For food I got the chicken tenders those were good and my boyfriend got the burger with chips. The food was good typical bar food. Overall, this was a chill place to come and watch football.

Awesome service! Cool decor! 109 beers! And decent-quality apps. I was particularly fond of the fried pickles. This establishment is also part of the 2023 St Louis Pub Pass program.

Stopped in for dinner and to check out the place and we weren't disappointed. Large inside with many seating areas and a nice size bar area so anyone should feel comfortable. That have 109 beers on tap so all you beer lovers are taken care of and they have happy hour specials and lots of other things happening all the time. Husband was super hungry so we started off with chili nachos and they were delicious, thin chips loaded with chili meat, beans , onions, tomatoes, black olives, jalapeños, sour cream and cheese and way to much to finish. I ordered the Chief's bbq burger with fries and the burg burger was fantastic, cooked to perfection with cheddar cheese, crisp bacon brown sugar and bbq sauce, Husband had the Mizzou melt and in between bites he said it was great and he loved the chips. Definitely worth trying if you are in the area and we will definitely return!

The place was packed, it was around 3pm so it was happy hour (ah ha moment) there was also a college game going on and so the place was buzzing. Our waitress was the epitome of exceptional customer service. Everyone needs to learn from her! I unfortunately forgot her name but definitely made sure to tip her well. She always made sure to check on us, made sure our drinks were filled, didn't write our order down but memorized and got everything correct to a T. Extraordinary! We did have to go in a rush, but the food was wonderful. Ordered an all American burger but no pickle, chili, buffalo chicken melt? Husband said everything was great. Speedy service and overall good time. We foresee ourselves becoming regulars here. Keep up the great work!

Walked into the establishment and found the bar seating was somewhat full so we walked into the high top area but did see two end seats at the bar so decided to change route and head there. It was evident the bartender had seen us when we were walking the restaurant area but took her time to acknowledge us when we sat at the bar. Ordered a bloody Mary, Bacardi and Coke. We were just drinking. Not eating today. Drinks came, small interaction with polite conversation and that was it. We finished our drinks expecting to order another round but it was made apparent since we were not a local today we were invisible. Therefore we asked for our bill and left. We understand she was waiting on other people and very personable just not with us. Will not be back. The atmosphere from an outsider perspective was not warm and friendly. I felt this was a neighborhood clicky type of atmosphere. None of the staff was engaged with us in conversation. I personally did NOT feel welcome. This was a business transaction only event I guess. It was just give me your order, pay your money and leave. A lot of people like that maybe I don't know but not me. I feel when you're at a bar, you kind of want that interaction with the bartender and staff to make you feel like you're part of something. Maybe it's just me, I don't know, but that's what I felt. I'm just reviewing it that way. Won't be back so no worries.

Food: is good and reasonably priced…read more Service: is usually good. If the servers are having conversations behind the bar with the bartender or bar customer, good luck to you... Ambiance: Not at all good! The loudness is overwhelming. Country music playing, the 'pickup truck crowd' starts arriving around 3:00PM and drinks constantly until about 6:00 or so, getting louder by the hour (or drink). Customers with tiny babies come in regularly.... Maybe this atmosphere is attractive to the customer base, but not for strangers new to the area.

Today's orders were all quite tasty: Chicken Club Salad with ranch dressing 16", extra cheese pizza with hand tossed crust and a French tip on a garlic parm roll with onion rings. We also had a side of fries with beer cheese, which is pretty darn good.

We don't have many sit down restaurants near us mostly fast food so when The Post was built we…read morereally wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, that is just not the case. We've really tried to like it by giving it numerous try's and ordering something different each time in hopes of finding our favorite menu item. We still haven't found one item that just "wows" us, but at least we've found something that we are okay with ordering if we have an invite to go there. Also, if you do make a visit to The Post, they only give you a printed menu with some of their food items. You have to open your phone and scan a QR code to get the whole menu which a lot of people don't even know and miss out on other options. I've also ran into issues with their reward system not tracking points accordingly if that's something you like to do too. So here's my take away on both the good and the bad from the food we've ordered thus far: 1) Pizza - not a fan of the crust it's too crispy almost burnt and the sauce is lacking flavor. 2) Tater Tots - great substitute for traditional French fries 3) Gyro wrap - I love Greek food, but they do not have this mastered. It's a poor excuse for a gyro. I really don't believe that it's lamb meat. Tasted more like old beef and not enough of the great Greek veggies. 4) Boneless Wings - tried both the honey hot and the carolina gold and both were good 5) Memphis Wings - probably my favorite menu item as long as the wings are good portion sizes. I've had them a couple times and each time the portions have varied. One time they were very skimpy with little to no meat on them which is not good with this type of wing because the seasoning is more like a dry rub so when there's little meat it's pretty sad cause the wings have dried out meat on them. When the portions are decent the flavor is amazing! 6) Post-it Cheesy Bread - it's basically cheesy bread, but the dough is just not for my family. We find it to be too "doughy". We tried it once and agreed we didn't need it again. 7) Chef Salad - Very large portion with lots of ingredients and do order the ranch dressing because it's homemade and easily one of my favorite salad dressings of any restaurant. 8) Side Salad - this salad is also a generous portion considering it's a side salad, but the ingredients on this salad could be considered a bit odd to some. It's made up of lettuce, croutons, raw onions, green peppers and tomatoes. It's unusual not to have cheese on a salad and even odder to have green peppers on it. I don't think the average person thinks of peppers on a side salad and was a bit surprised when it arrived. The next time I ordered it, I made sure to have them removed along with the onions so I basically had lettuce, tomatoes and croutons left. I asked if they could substitute cheese and was told it would be $1.50 more which seemed like a lot for a side salad especially when it's normally standard plus I was taking things off of it. 9) Grilled Tuna Sandwich- Absolutely disgusting. Worst thing I've ever eaten there. I took two bites total and let the rest go to the trash it was that bad. 10) Sloppy Johnny - their take on a sloppy Joe which my spouse loves to order. It's his first choice when we dine there. 11) Smashburger - two small burger patties smashed with some cheese so it's kind of hard to screw this one up. 12) Buffalo Chicken Wrap - very basic could've used more Buffalo sauce flavoring as I tasted more of the wrap and lettuce than anything. 13) Buffalo Chicken Sandwich - tasted like too much fryer oil and not enough Buffalo sauce. Almost tasted like it was a frozen patty with sauce pre added to it. 14) Chicken Cheesesteak - Another sandwich I just couldn't bring myself to finish it was so odd in flavor. It was mediocre at best. Also, way too much bread for the amount of chicken they give you. 15) Black Bean Cheese Quesadilla - this is something that has been both on and off point and make sure you read the ingredients thoroughly on the menu as it's not prepared the way the title reads. It's actually a black bean and corn salsa that's put into the quesadilla which can make it way too runny or even mushy if not cooked just right. They don't offer a traditional quesadilla so you'll have to customize this one and risk getting charged extra for all your changes.i wish they would add a basic cheese quesadilla to the menu. Well that's my review of the food now for the environment and staff. Most of the wait staff and bartenders are very kind and attentive. The only staff member that seems unhappy there is the night manager. He's always walking around looking like he hates his job. There's plenty of TV's to catch your favorite sports broadcast and they often have side bar giveaways going on. The outdoor patio setting is a nice option weather permitting. All in all, it's an okay place but the food definitely needs a step up.
