The search for great happy Happy Hour continues. Next stop Blue Sky Cafe and Bar. Located on Winghaven blvd, Blue Sky has one of the most impressive martini menus I've seen in a while. Martini prices were very reasonable as well as great food to complement a good martini. Blue Sky Cafe does have a decent beer/drink selection but martinis is where it's at. Blue Sky has plenty of seating and from the popularity, parties of all types can be accommodated. We ordered several items from the HH specials as well as off the menu and all were very good. Such a cute neighborhood place with locally sourced ingredients and a breezy patio. They're really highlighting tomato season with the burrata and heirloom tomato special! Served with blueberry gastric and fried capers, it's a perfect mix of bright, sweet, salty, and savory! Hurry and get this one before it gone! We also had the polenta cake special which was reminiscent of a chili with warming spices that were spicier than I expected, even though I like spicy. The service can be a bit slow, but everyone is super nice and helpful. The chef is also great with food allergies so I can dine without fear. The cocktails are hit or miss but the wines are nice. Excellent service by Ella!! This is a fun, relaxing neighborhood spot. They have an excellent happy hour with food and drink specials. I love the idea of such an extensive martini menu and an affordable one as well. Our table had the Italian Beef sandwich, Big Ass fish sandwich, Sloppy Chips and a couple of flatbreads. Everything was very good and I had a little bit of order envy when I saw the flatbreads. They are a really nice size, with a thinner crust and I was told they were excellent! Blue Sky is the most frequent selection my friends and I make for our quarterly happy hours. It's a large restaurant and bar that serves flatbread and dozens of flavorful martinis. What a "me" menu! My standard order is a margherita flatbread. I formerly ordered pretzels and cheese, but that flatbread is pretty good and I don't go often enough to get sick of it. My friends and I joined the martini club a few years ago at the now-closed location in Brentwood; the folks at the Dardenne Prairie location nicely a) punch our cards and b) let us substitute different drinks for those we are confident we won't like. (In case you're wondering why we still use the cards: we want to keep trying new things and this is how we keep track of what we've tried or decided not to try... except I think that perhaps the numbering of the martinis has been redone in the past few years, and the card only lists numbers rather than drinks, so I should throw the thing away, but now I just want to keep count of how many I've had in the past, 8 years or so, and the card is such a fun real thing. I love that it isn't a digital thing. Tangent over.) The drinks are pretty sweet. Think the cocktails of The Fountain on Locust if they didn't have ice cream. read more

Came here twice for lunch. Service is pretty fast and efficient. They have an extensive martini list (do note there are no returns on drinks) and a variety of sandwiches, salads, and burgers. We've ordered a variety of martinis including the bees-knees, espresso martini, and the strawberry martini. For food we've had the club sandwich, salad, fish/chips, and sweet potato fries. Highly recommend the club sandwich and sweet potato fries, the salad is also very good as well. The only negative I'd say is the martinis can be hit or miss. Some have been overly sweet to me while others have been a perfect balance. Overall I'll continue to come back for drinks & lunch! read more

Better half and I popped in for a drink last night (second time in six months here, not regulars). I know my way around a bar, and martinis are regular practice at our home. Vodka martinis, by rule one would think require vodka, we ordered two, The Blue Sky and The Mrs. Claus. If there was any more than a half of a shot of vodka in either martini I would be stunned. The Blue Sky was all Blue Curacao and the Mrs. Claus was 50/50 pomegranate and cranberry juice at best. We simply paid our tab and left. Vodka should not be the only flavor in a drink but the mix should not be the only flavor either. A quality martini like the lemon drop we had at dinner is the expectation, especially at a place 'known' for their martinis. The martinis here used to rock, and have been inspirations of many of the drinks we pour at home. Not sure what has happened but this is the second time here that poor drinks have been the results. The warning of 'no refund on your martini' in the drink menu is indicative that they are not making the quality of drink you are expecting. Come for the martinis, stay for the food! Great spot for dinner or drinks. Stopped in last night for dinner. For apps we had the jalepeno popper dip with half crostinis and half chips and it was killer. Also got the Buffalo tot/chicken app and both were out of this world. These 2 apps were enough for 4 people! For entrees I had the patty melt with sweet potato fries. My husband had the Philly with pretzel bites and cheese. They have a great selection of entrees, apps, and their side selection is excellent. The service is wonderful. Lastly, they have over 60 martinis that are all fantastic. They also offer seasonal martinis. They have a regular happy hour and a late night happy hour with discounted martinis. Once you try all of the martinis once you get your name on the wall. Martinis are great with a huge list (60) to choose from. We even joined the mile high martini club, where you're given a punch card and once completed, you can enjoy $6 martinis- forever So you know we'll be back lol. Service has been great both times we went and a nice place overall. read more

My wife and I went back to the Blue Sky Cafe and Bar to grab a quick bite and a drink. We ordered a couple of Sam Adams Winterlager. They were cold and good. For food, we ordered Sloppy Chips, Fried Cauliflower and split a Black & Blea burger. The food was good and the Waitress was very attentive. We were both surprised that the bill with tip was over $67. I don't think the food lived up to the amount of the bill. The beers were $13 each. read more

I really liked this place! I got the pretzels appetizer and I will say the cheese wasn't my favorite but it was still super good. I got the pink lemonade martini and it was soooo tasty as someone who doesn't like the taste of alcohol you can't even taste it in this drink. Service was good, server was sweet. This is a great neighborhood bar & grill for happy hour or a quick meal. The ambiance is super casual. My server, Jackie, was attentive and friendly. On Tuesdays they offer two dollars off tacos so I decided to try the Asian slaw tacos with chicken. It was flavorful and quite good. The sweetness of the pineapple teriyaki mixed well with the spice of the Sriracha. The sweet potato fries were crisp and delicious! I'm sad the location by the Galleria closed, but I'm so pleased I can still come out for their Happy Hour and delicious martinis! I still have my club card, and one day I will fill it out. This location is a little less "sports bar" vibe and more sit down, which, as someone trying to catchup with friends, is totally good by me. We were able to get two drinks in under the 6pm deadline thanks to the attentive waiter. It wasn't too crowded and we weren't rushed. As we were leaving (8pm?), Tuesday night trivia was just kicking off, and it was quite well attended. Literally the best place for drinks! They have 60 martinis for you to find one you like. It was such a great happy hour spot. We also got dinner, the buffalo chicken wrap and the sloppy joe sandwich. Both absolutely delicious, but the drinks are where it's at. I will be back! read more

The hours of operation posted on the door say that they are open on Tuesdays at 11am. We went there at 12:30pm on a Tuesday and they were closed. No sign posted saying they wouldn't be open for lunch. Please communicate to your customers if your service is interrupted. I understand there could be staffing shortages or there was some kind of emergency, but a simple sign on your door explaining that you are unexpected closed goes a long way. read more

OK, I must say, the food is delicious. As a city kid, and quite honestly a black person, O'Fallon, MO is not a place that I spend ANY time. However, my sister came in town and was staying with some friends in O'Fallon, and I wanted to see her. So I came to O'Fallon because she had no transportation. We were both hungry, so we decided to go out to eat somewhere we have never been. I did a quick search of restaurants in the area, and Blue Sky Café and bar looked promising. We arrived, very nice, clean restaurant. Very easy, seat yourself kind of situation. Polite friendly staff. My waitress was very knowledgeable. Even ordered a quesadilla to go for my wife after I ate my steak sandwich with mushrooms and grilled onions. Oh, Wifey LOVED the quesadilla also! This is a great martini bar for apps and post work drinks! They have this fun incentive martini punch card that if you try 52 martinis you get your name on a plaque on the wall. You can only order 2 in a visit (which is smart because they are strong) and they have a martini of the week at a discount price. I am always up for a challenge so I figured one visit a week for a year and I am good to go! ‍ The appetizers are pretty standard fare, fried food and chips and pretzels - which every one I have had I have loved so far. The guacamole bites are my favorite! The martini menu and drink list is extensive and has some wonderfully inventive flavors that I am glad I am trying in this fun way. The only drawback on this place is the speed of service. Water refills take a while, and the end of the meal bill takes a while to come- so this isn't ideal for a bip in and a bip out experience. I had asked about modifying one of the salads. The waitress rolled her eyes and said they didn't really have time for that. Excuse me? You could have said no, but definitely not like that. Blue sky was good bar food. Had a lot of martinis on the menu and I was satisfied with my Lemon Drop. I tried the Steak and Avocado Salad. It was pretty good, just found out that I personally do not like feta cheese ( which is on the salad). That's not their fault and our service was great.
