    Great fried chicken
    Michael C.

Love this place , always great food , a little out of the way but worth the trip ,I highly recommended !!!

Catfish with tater tot's and cauliflower bake. Perfection! The card was perfectly breaded and fried and their cucumber salad was so good!

Fish was fried perfectly! Breading was an overdone nice and white crispy and the cauliflower bake was delicious not overly loaded with cheese! The cucumber salad was so refreshing and surprisingly fresh considering we're in the middle of winter. Strongly recommended and Lauren our waitress was a delight

    Meatloaf to go!

The food was fresh and the staff was friendly! I cannot suggest their fried chicken enough! (Weekends) its so good and cooked to order. I'd avoid the mac and cheese as it tasted like box but everything else was awesome! Will go again next time I'm in the area for sure!

The food is usually a crap shoot. Might be really good, might be raw, might be over cooked. Staff is nice. Very smoky inside but nice patio.

The food is always good. The wait staff are all very nice. It's a nice small town place to get a bite to eat and a drink.

As we sat done we found that ketchup was smeared under the corner of the table and it got all over my wife's blouse and pants as she sat down. She had to go to the bathroom to wash it all off. We ordered our food. Asked for a side of strawberries for our grandson. It was on the menu. It was only 2 berries cut up. Really! My wife ordered the Tom's Sole. Her favorite dish. It came out still half done, soggy in the middle and cold from probably being frozen. It also wasn't crunchy on top like usual either. So she asked politely to the server to have it done more. Upon return a manager brought it over and said that it had originally been done to spec in the kitchen. We were surprised that he was saying this since we didn't make any kind of scene. In fact he made a point of saying it several times as if to try and embarrass us. Not what we felt was good customer service.

My husband and i love the nachos from 54th. We went during happy hour, and man do you get the best bang for your buck. For a whopping $9.00 you get a huge plate of nachos. If nachos aren't your jam, then you can choose from a variety of other happy hour bites within the same price range. The nachos were good, plenty of cheese and other toppings, even had some left over. Service was good. We were seated right away, and even asked what our seating preference was. We opted for a booth. Our server was polite, and attentive. The inside was clean and parking was plentiful. **Be sure if you are dining on the happy hour menu, you purchase a drink. What really stood out to me was the service we received! I really appreciated not being rushed through our meal. The fact that they actually let you order your courses separately so they're not coming out on top of each other was refreshing. And even though it was a Friday night and there were others waiting to get in we weren't rushed to pay our bill but instead invited to take our time. We hadn't seen or heard much about their pizzas, but we were in the mood for one and decided to order the meat pizza. It was made in a brick oven and it was really tasty. Honestly there were so many toppings that we ended up asking for an extra cup of the marinara sauce to dip it in. The sauce is made in house, it was delicious and the waitress said it's the same one that's used with the spaghetti and meatballs. In regard to the pizza size even though they're considered personal pizzas it was definitely bigger than we were anticipating. I would say they're close to 11 to 12 inches in diameter. My husband and I each enjoyed two pieces with our salad and took the other half home with us. They are definitely big enough to share, especially if you're ordering an appetizer or a salad to go with it. Our group very much enjoyed the artichoke spinach dip. It came with bread that had been cooked in their brick oven and I love that the spinach was in bigger pieces. My husband, and I also shared the harvest salad which had butternut squash on it, candied pecans & goat cheese. It was really yummy. Others in our group enjoyed the salmon and the crispy chicken sandwich. I had recently seen on a local Jefferson County page that many people consider Twisted Tavern the best place for a good piece of cake specifically, their wedding cake . Truth is that was the primary reason why I suggested this restaurant to meet our friends at but sadly by the time we finished our meal and were ready to order dessert they had already sold out. We were told this does not usually happen. Overall, we found tasty fresh food made in house, great service and fair prices. I am already planning another visit to the Twisted Tavern (so I can try their wedding cake! ).

We ordered apps. Spinach dip, onion rings, fried pickles, Brussel sprouts, and aside of spaghetti. The brussels sprouts were nicely fried, a little greasy. The fried pickles were lightly breaded, but very salty. The side of spaghetti was large enough to be a full serving. Wasn't overly impressed with the food, but the service here was top-notch.
