Crispy chicken fried to perfection and piping hot, plus cheese, thick-cut bacon, an onion ring and a tangy honey mustard BBQ sauce that brightened the whole thing. Fries were thicker-cut and well-seasoned. DH had the Chicken Cheesesteak. He liked it... noted that the chicken was cubed, rather than sliced or shredded, but it didn't curb his enjoyment. It's been awhile since my last visit. Seems a bit disorganized and much slower service compared with previous experiences. Greek omelette was okay, needed a little more Greek seasoning. Chicken Fried steak sandwich was fine. This is a cozy little restaurant in the historic downtown of Eureka MO. There is a small bar with about 10 or so tables to dine. The service was great and the gal took very good care of us. We both got the chili-mac which was a ton of food. However, it was more noodles than chili making it not overly tasty. I smothered it with sour cream to help but it still was nothing to write home about. Plus, they have can soda which is not a favorite either since no refills. read more

I read somewhere that this place was supposed to have the best breakfast, so it has been on my list to try for awhile. My favorite breakfast item is biscuits and gravy. I stopped in to pickup 1 biscuit and gravy to go to try it out. The server was friendly and the place reminded me of a very small dive bar/diner type place. Unfortunately, the biscuit and gravy was not good. The gravy had a slightly sour taste to it and it didn't have any sausage in it. It looked like it may have been a powder mix type gravy. The biscuit was ok - fluffy but kind of dry. I'm always on the hunt for good B&Gs and these did not make the cut. read more

I rarely give low star reviews. Welp, here is one. I will not be back. I called ahead to order a simple salad and italian beef sandwich - a popular menu selection from the reviews I read. I was told it would be 20 minutes for pick up. I arrived early and waited to enter until my 20 minutes was up. The minute I walked in, I knew it was a mistake. None of the staff wore masks. Not one patron had a mask on. No one was wearing a mask as they entered, except one gentleman. The minute he walked in, his friend said you can take that off. It's not needed here. I told the waitress I was there for my pick up order. She said it would be a minute. I waited another 15 minutes. When they finally brought the order out, she asked if I needed plastic silverware (insert frustrated sigh because I was already at 35 minutes since order was placed, and I was now running late for bringing the lunch to my Dad as promised). I said yes. I waited another 5 plus minutes and then decided to leave since no plastic silverware seemed to be coming anytime soon. I knew I had a plastic fork somewhere in my car. By then I decided I'd use my fingers if I had to rather than keep waiting. A '20 minute called ahead pick up' turned into 40 minutes plus for a simple salad and Italian beef sammy. Yes, the wait staff were busy at lunch rush...which is why I called ahead before lunch rush "technically" starts. But wait. There's more. They were also disinterested in providing help - despite my efforts to catch their attention more than once while patiently waiting for my order, which apparently wasn't placed till I got there?!? When I finally did get someone to talk to me, they were rude and short with me. Like I was at fault or a bother to them. The curt replies, lack of smiles or courtesy, and impatience by every staff I encountered - 3 of them - was just not acceptable. As a former waitress, I know people have rough days and busy days. And I know they get paid crap and deal with horrible customers sometimes. However, I was over the top patient BECAUSE they were busy. The service and attitude I received - plus the lack of COVID safety precautions - was beyond something I want to give a second chance to. I know they could and should have treated me better. The locals can keep this spot. They've seen me twice...the first and last time. read more

We visited here on a recent Saturday morning before going fishing. We had not been to downtown Eureka before and were looking for another establishment, which also looked nice but was not open yet. And such a blessing Because We went to Chick-n-Elly's and had two orders of bananas foster French toast that was AMAZING!! To be honest, from the name I was expecting something like Chick fil a, however it wasn't. The menus consisted of burgers, sandwiches and wings. I ordered the "ultimate steakhouse burger" and it was fantastic. The beef patties were hand patted and fresh. There is a large selection of burgers to chose from. My son ordered the "bacon Parmesan wings" and loved them. They were way larger and tasted way better than Buffalo Wild Wings!! These wings would make Bdubs cry like a little baby. Lol. There were many flavors to chose from. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a local restaurant with great food. read more

I met my friend Jeff for breakfast there this morning. I have been searching for a local breakfast place for awhile that is convenient for both of us to meet, and this restaurant had come highly recommended by friends. I was not disappointed. From the outside I was not sure what to think, as its set in old town Eureka, and upon walking in I was not disappointed. From the locals finishing their breakfast and joking with staff and the owner, to the owner who was preparing the food. The atmosphere is exactly what I had hoped for in a local breakfast spot. The food was great too. The owner commented that if it was no the best omelette i had had, it was free. And well, it wasn't free. The Western Omelette was that good. I am a fan of traditional pan-fried potatoes over hash browns, so I ordered the home fries. They were good, but after seeing Jeff's chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns come out......I think i will try the hash browns next time (they looked good). Definitely a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch, Wednesday through Sunday. They are limited to seating inside, but don't let that stop you. The breakfast was definitely worth it. read more

This is a small, unpretentious, bar and diner with good eats and great service. We had a wonderful breakfast today. They get incredibly packed and noisy on Saturday mornings, but do their best to accommodate all their customers. My husband liked his Southwestern Scramble, but was envious of the truly delicious Chicken-Fried-Chicken on my side of the table. Don't expect the usual measly chicken patty. What a great hometown restaurant. We went for breakfast and there are quite a few options. We had omelets. I ordered the weekend special omelet with prosciutto and spinach. It was flavorful and filling. It came with homestyle fries and bread of your choice. I had the biscuit. We also ordered a side of bacon and it was really good! There wasn't a wait for the table on an early Saturday morning but there is limited seating and no where to stand inside if it was full. Last time I had a spinach salad and it was amazing, I had to take maybe 2/3 of it home but I didn't mind at all it was so good. Listen, all of these other complaints are ridiculous. It's NOT a "fried chicken restaurant". Focus on what they DO have. The appetizers are all good, but the California garlic and rodeo cheese fries are the standouts. You will be happy with ANY of the burgers, but the 3 cheese pretzel burger is amazing. Now, on to the wings... They are all fantastic but the hot bacon Parmesan are perfect. They are simply, perfect. The canned soda choices are the only minus to this place. Went here after a day at the skeet range. Glad I found this place. Located in the main strip. Enjoyed a few ice cold Bush's. Ordered the fried chicken special. Nice, juicy 4 pieces of perfectly fried bird. I also had the chilli cheese fries. They have a bottle of wing sauce at the tables which went well with the fries. My buds had a combo of wings, they have a lot of option from sweet, tangy to super buttburning hot. Great friendly service. A. must try if in town. read more
