My son and I stopped in for a quick dinner. We started with a Cajun sausage soup. We thought it was both quite spicy and tasty. Large chunks of chicken, sausage and jalapeño peppers were in the soup. My son got the steak wrap which he said is the best thing he's ever had from their menu yet. He said the sauce on it was very flavorful and delicious. I got the Moby Dick sandwich, which is a large fish fillet that was very crispy fried and flaky on the inside. It's always a winner. Our server was quite good . she informed us that the keg dispensers and taps weren't working so I had a bottled blue moon which paired well with the fish. I also had a side of onion rings, which I shared with my son, which are very flavorful and crispy. This is a typical sports bar. read more

Great wing joint and bar, my family said it was their #2 spot for wings! Our food was solid and we got the 50 wings and a pitcher deal! It's a solid choice if you have a large group and want to just enjoy hanging out. We had some appetizers and just had a great time. They had the game on the TVs and the atmosphere was great. I can't believe I haven't left a review in all the years I've been eating here! This has, pretty much, a neighborhood bar/restaurant vibe. Has a dive bar feel, in a good way! The staff is great, friendly and pay attention to their tables! Their food is always good, consistent, comes out hot, when it should. Their wings are one of my faves and their ranch dressing, homemade, top notch! The burgers, fish sammy, wraps, salads, all great! If I had to pick a downfall, it would be the parking. If I could rate this a 0, I would. I had one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've had in a long time at Poor Richard's, and I will absolutely not be returning. From the moment we sat down, service was consistently poor. Our server would disappear for long stretches (10+ minutes at a time), with no drink refills the entire visit--which lasted over an hour largely due to how slow everything was. We felt completely forgotten most of the time. The biggest issue came with my kids' meals. They ordered nachos with just beef and cheese. When the food came out, it had onions and peppers mixed into the beef. When I asked if we could get it corrected, we were told that the "beef" is actually a chili mixture and couldn't be made plain. That would have been helpful to know when ordering. Instead, my kids had to reorder entirely different food and wait an additional 20 minutes--while the rest of us had already finished eating. When the bill came, it was incorrect with multiple charges messed up. I calmly tried to walk through it with the server and simply mentioned that, given the situation with my kids' meals, it would have been nice to see some sort of small accommodation. I was not rude, I was not demanding a refund--I was having a normal, respectful conversation. Instead, the situation escalated unnecessarily. The server became defensive, raised her voice, and abruptly told me to talk to the manager. This was incredibly uncomfortable and honestly embarrassing, especially since it didn't need to go there at all. Speaking with the manager didn't improve anything. I was told this is "normal" for taco meat (despite being told it was chili), and nothing was done to address the situation. Again--I never demanded a refund. I simply expected basic communication and reasonable service. To make matters worse, the bill was still incorrect in the end and included an extra burger we didn't order. At that point, I just wanted to leave. The service was already lacking, but the way this was handled made it a no-brainer: I will never come back. If you value basic customer service, communication, or being treated with respect, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more

The patty melt is a good meal if you have a hearty appetite. 12 wings were good for two. Watch out if you don't want to have spicy food. My friend who had the wing cause said it was very hot. Can't believe I've lived so close for 15 years and had never been here... Stopped in for lunch on Saturday 11/16. Both my son and i ordered burgers / fries and a half order of fried mushrooms. For starters the mushrooms were FANTASTIC! They were exceptionally flavorful both the seasoned breading and the ranch we dipped them in. What i found unique was the amount of liquid (not oil) trapped within each mushroom. This may sound strange but this little flavor explosion it made them the best I've ever had. Truly my favorite! Next up was the burgers. Burgers were unfortunately both on the dry side, mine more so than my sons. they were still good, just a bit overcooked for our preference. Buns were buttered and toasted for a nice touch, and the fries were a good mix of crispy and squishy (my personal favorite). I knocked off a star for the dry burgers, but I hope to bump this up to 5 stars with future visits. Also the service was great as well. Bottom line... We will definitely be back for the fabulous looking wings and other sandwiches I saw being served to nearby tables. read more

Local Bar & Grill, quite a thrill! People line up at the takeout counter for their Famous Chicken Wings, and derservingly so. Their Hot Sauce is mouth-watering, and thickness of the Ranch dressing makes something special. Atmosphere and feel make me want to cone back to watch a game, or just hangout for a while. read more

I love their wings but the last several times we ordered pick up, I asked for extra wing sauce and ranch only to get home to not find any. The wings come without any on them. When I order, I ask for extra sauce and even suggest charging for it if necessary, we ask if it's in there when we pick it up and are told it is there, then we get home and there's one small 1 ounce cup of wing sauce. For 25 wings. This is the sole reason we don't go there often. I love the wings, they are my favorite, but not worth the disappointment . When the sandwich came, I opened the ciabatta bun to find a scrawny piece of grilled chick that was not much bigger than my thumb. Quaint little place that has plenty of tvs for sports and friendly service. The wings aren't bad - 50 wings and a pitcher of beer special. The toasted raviolis were decent, as were the onion rings, and potato skins. It's bar food, and works to fill the belly. The onion rings and potato skins were my fav! The salad was crisp and fresh topped with tomatoes, cheese, and mushrooms. We finally ordered and the food came and this is where the story gets bad...a couple of people at the table ordered burgers but there was confusion about whose was whose, as the person next to me was handed one with a different side dish than he ordered. The waitress then took his plate and WITH HER BARE HANDS lifted the bun to see what was on it. Oh my gosh, that is just GROSS. She could have at the least asked one of the people who ordered burgers to do it. No one ever has mushrooms on salad. The ranch was delicious. The cheese bread was uneventful and neither my husband nor I cared about it. BUT the star of the evening was our server Julie. She was so attentive and nice. I accidentally had a tomato pop off the table onto the floor and she promptly picked it up lol. I asked her if she was the owner because that's how she cared for us and others around us. She said no but she has worked here for 5 years. Since a group of us were planning a mini reunion we opted to meet here and enjoy some reminiscing and some wings. Despite being a smaller location they were able to accommodate our group. Our server was awesome and really patient keeping all of our orders straight and keeping our drinks refilled. Tue wings were just like I remembered, the side salad was HUGE and ahhh the toasted ravs. Nothing more St louis than toasted ravs. I look forward to coming home again and enjoying another wing special and toasted ravs. read more

The name of the restaurant reflects our experience. Now, let me also say, I used to come all of the time and it was amazing, food and service both. However, things have changed, and NOT for the better. We sat down and ordered apps which were fine, the wings are ALWAYS amazing. Our server, apologized for the delay, saying the kitchen was bombarded with to-go orders. I appreciated the heads up, her attentiveness to out drinks and her Apologies, but that only lasted about 10 minutes. An hour later, I was starting to get aggravated. We hadn't seen our server in forever, she never filled our drinks and a table of 6 (who ordered after us) got all of their food. When our food came out, it was less than par. My husband's burger was a hockey puck, my son's chili cheese hot dog was cold with uncooked chili, my daughter's nachos were riddled with jalapeños and were served with hot sour cream. My roast beef was ok, but nothing to write home about. Then, when we asked another waitress to get our server, she brought over the bill, Steve mentioned the stale chips and nasty hotdog and the waitress didn't offer to take anything off the bill; my husband disagreed so the nachos were taken off. Before this last visit I would have given 4, maybe 5 stars. This last visit a week or so ago left a lot to be desired. My husband and I each got a combo that included wings, a salad and cheese garlic bread. The wings, compared to prior visits were much smaller. They were barely sauced, which again was previously not the case. The salad barely had any toppings on it, the tomatoes on my husbands salad were rotten, and the salad garlic cheese bread had a piece of cheese on top that wasn't melted. It looked more like it sat next to the stove and a caught some residual heat than was actually put in a broiler or oven or anything. The waitress was nice and attentive but the food has taken a huge nose dive. We'll be hard pressed to go back and that's a shame because I always have enjoyed it in the past. read more

The first ones weren't done. Threw the rest of them away. Fries weren't done. They said they'd fix that but they weren't good. Threw them away.
