After a slew of aggressive, condescending phone calls and texts I had to block this business owner from my phone, and requested we keep our communications on the app. I have yet to receive any compensation or response to my message. This is a human who just used ASAP|unlocks services, which really seems to be more like an app for lock techs who run their own businesses through ASAP. The techs ASAP sends actually run their own businesses, charge their own prices, apparently, despite what ASAP advertises. After sending a request on Yelp, I was sent (through Yelp) a base rate for $69 on a "Basic Lockout". I suppose it was my fault for not asking what the guy he sent from "Blue Locksmith" (or something like that) charges. The tech from this other company pops the door open in 10 seconds and says $395. I said the ad said $69 for a basic lockout. It took him less than a minute. That sounds pretty basic to me. I say I don't have $395 and he laughs and gives me a high five. I said that's prob my fault for not asking. He laughs and says yeah. I talk him down to $195, pretty caught off guard and burned by the false advertising. He said the $69 is just to send the tech (despite the offer of "free estimates" and $69 being the ADVERTISED base rate for basic lockouts) Bottom line ASAP and its associated businesses do not honor advertising and resort to price gouging to people in desperation with strangers gaining entry their houses asking for money they weren't expecting to have. Avoid at all costs and always ask questions to slippery people like ASAP.

With a group of others, I had just witnessed my childhood best friend propose to his longtime partner at the LA State Historic Park at sunset. The plan was to celebrate afterward at a local downtown brewery. I had parked a block away on Main and come to find I lost my car keys! I quickly panicked. Luckily I had another amazing friend who was still nearby and supported me throughout the situation. Called AAA. Retraced my steps. Park was already closed so I could not look there. The AAA tech had only unlocked the car for me. He recommended I find a locksmith as he strongly advised I do not leave my car in the area that it was. We found Sunny on Yelp. I had also called another locksmith found on GoogleMaps but their cost was much higher. Sunny arrived at my stranded car in less than half an hour. Once to get copies of some keys and the second time, to get my high heels repaired. I actually waited a while before bringing my shoes in because they are pricey Salvatore Ferragamo pumps. But having seen him work on other people's shoes and seeing all the equipment he had indicated to me that he was an experienced cobbler. And I am glad I came to him. I had heel tips that needed replacing. Ferragamo actually included extra ones when I bought my shoes so I brought them with me. The price? $7. I'll be back.
