But I tried my 3rd package of Little City coffee, (shipped from this address on their website) and though good coffee, it is simply not a dark enough roast for my espresso. I tried Messenger Espresso the first time, many months ago and was underwhelmed. The beans were just not dark enough, shiny enough nor oily enough for the sort of espresso shot I like to pull. They made perfectly passable drip coffee in a pour-over, but I am a 99% espresso guy. Recently I took advantage of a 20% discount and rapid delivery (next day! Arrived on Monday, ordered Sunday!) to try the two darkest roasts offered, Grackle and Republic. Again, passable drip coffees, but not able to produce the thick rich crema and distinctive oily mouthfeel and toasted flavor notes I was looking for. Great fast to the door delivery and good prices (though for a 12oz package, compare carefully) and as I noted, pretty good coffee, but I will return to the Italian espresso (occasionally mixed 75/25 with French Roast) from my usual roaster Anderson's to feed my Gaggia Classic Pro.

We learned about the different types and tastes of coffee at it's different stages. We were served many different brews from "defected" coffee beans up to some premium stuff so that we can get a taste for what good coffee should be like. Don't let the location fool you, when you walk into this warehouse looking shop, inside has some of the FINEST coffee you can buy. Joel's good buddies with all the best plantations and Brazil and prides himself on having first choice on all the BEST harvested coffees from these plantations. If you've had coffee at Spiderhouse, Uchi, Torchy's, and many other places around town, there's a good chance they're sources from Casa Brasil. Basically, if you like making coffee at home and not paying a premium for coffee at these shops/restaurants, you can order directly from Joel. They roast upon order so you definitely get the beans at it's freshest. The bags they come in are all hand-painted too. If you're not wanting to order from Joel or make a drive down south, you can find their coffee at your local Central Market. Bottom line, if you want the best quality coffee you can possibly find, go here.

I stopped in for a late afternoon pick-me-up and ordered the seasonal Earl Grey matcha latte. So good! The Earl Grey added a light, fragrant twist to the matcha without overpowering it, which made the drink feel really balanced and unique. I ended up hanging out for a bit to read a chapter of my book before heading out. It's the kind of place where you could easily get some work done, study, or just enjoy a quiet break with a good drink.

The staff clearly recognized quite a few customers during the short time I was there to do a quick grab and go of caffeine. The staff was super friendly and took their time in helping me pick out a bag of beans based off my personal preferences and intent of use (cortados/lattes vs drip/press). Their beans are well priced at around $14 a bag AND you get a complimentary drip coffee with the purchase! I felt like a winner! I also gave their canned lemonade and coffee drink a try - because why not? It had a unique and almost chocolatey flavor. Not sure if I loved it personally, but the quality of the ingredients and flavors were distinctly there. Certainly will take the time to come back to test out the space for a remote work day or a casual outing. Big plus: They have a parking lot and the option of indoor and outdoor seating. The coffee is sourced from Columbia, and the baristas explained that there's no middleman when it comes to getting the beans, so they're fresh. They even offered cold brew samples while we were waiting in line. The baristas were super duper sweet and welcoming. I ordered an iced vanilla latte, which was okay. The drink wasn't super sweet. This is a perfect spot if you're looking for outdoor vibes. Maybe not somewhere to work from home, but I did actually see someone working on their laptop. In terms of parking, they have two small lots right next to it and then another one farther down the street. There's some but it was just tough on a Saturday morning. Also, be careful with parking in the nearby restaurants lots because they came out and told us to move our car. Overall, the vibes were great, and I recommend checking it out!

The drink was beautiful at pick-up (so beautiful I forgot to take a photo!), and I got the hype: coffee flavor was bold, mixed perfectly with the milk, and the brown sugar + miso flavors were at the bottom that you mixed yourself. All the flavors worked, but nothing to TRULY go out of your way for. It was good though! Miso adds that "nutty, slight salty" flavor like a "salted caramel" would do. Completely enjoyed!

They directly source and roast elite coffees from around the world. This shop is located in an old historical home that was relocated from Rainey street. The space is very vintage and they have an amazing outdoor space that was perfect for hosting an event. My phone charge was low and the staff was super friendly and allowed me to charge my phone behind the counter before the run. Overall, Praxis is a great spot if you're looking for high-quality coffee and a great place to hang out. Can't wait to try options from their menu.

It's a really cute house that was converted into a coffee shop and it has a really homey rustic feel. I would definitely recommend this place if you want some more quiet to hang out, read, or work. I tried the sweet cardamom latte and it was delicious. The pastries were a bit overpriced in my opinion, but are from sour duck market and were tasty!
