I am not sure if Casa Brasil has become Little City Coffee Roasters, if Little City has CB roast…read morecoffee for them, or if this place is now Little City's roasting house. But I tried my 3rd package of Little City coffee, (shipped from this address on their website) and though good coffee, it is simply not a dark enough roast for my espresso. I tried Messenger Espresso the first time, many months ago and was underwhelmed. The beans were just not dark enough, shiny enough nor oily enough for the sort of espresso shot I like to pull. They made perfectly passable drip coffee in a pour-over, but I am a 99% espresso guy. Recently I took advantage of a 20% discount and rapid delivery (next day! Arrived on Monday, ordered Sunday!) to try the two darkest roasts offered, Grackle and Republic. Again, passable drip coffees, but not able to produce the thick rich crema and distinctive oily mouthfeel and toasted flavor notes I was looking for. Great fast to the door delivery and good prices (though for a 12oz package, compare carefully) and as I noted, pretty good coffee, but I will return to the Italian espresso (occasionally mixed 75/25 with French Roast) from my usual roaster Anderson's to feed my Gaggia Classic Pro.

Another great Yelp event. I learned a LOT about coffee today. Joel, the owner of Casa Brasil is…read moredefinitely a coffee connoisseur. He gave us a Coffee 101 where we learned everything from the history all the way to how it reaches the end consumer. We learned about the different types and tastes of coffee at it's different stages. We were served many different brews from "defected" coffee beans up to some premium stuff so that we can get a taste for what good coffee should be like. Don't let the location fool you, when you walk into this warehouse looking shop, inside has some of the FINEST coffee you can buy. Joel's good buddies with all the best plantations and Brazil and prides himself on having first choice on all the BEST harvested coffees from these plantations. If you've had coffee at Spiderhouse, Uchi, Torchy's, and many other places around town, there's a good chance they're sources from Casa Brasil. Basically, if you like making coffee at home and not paying a premium for coffee at these shops/restaurants, you can order directly from Joel. They roast upon order so you definitely get the beans at it's freshest. The bags they come in are all hand-painted too. If you're not wanting to order from Joel or make a drive down south, you can find their coffee at your local Central Market. Bottom line, if you want the best quality coffee you can possibly find, go here.

This was our first time at Desnudo on South Lamar and this food truck location delivers the same experience as the original Desnudo...great coffee sourcing, micro roasted coffee and nicely balanced flavors. As a friendly reminder, most popular menu items are on the top left portion of a menu or at the top of a menu. Desnudo is known for their signature brown sugar miso latte, of course, at the top of the menu. This addicting latte offers a subtle savory-sweet balance that's both unique and incredibly smooth. We also tried the vanilla miso latte and I must say, I liked the vanilla miso latte better than the brown sugar miso latte. It was less sweet and smoother. We also had some hibiscus tea, which was bold and exploding with flavor. The atmosphere at the South Lamar location is laid-back and casual with outdoor seating available for you to enjoy your treats. Also, our barista, Araceli, was super sweet and kind. Excellent service... Desnudo Coffee on South Lamar is fully worth the stop. They are ahead of the coffee pack for well-crafted drinks, excellent service, and an authentic coffee experience.

This time I strayed from my usual,…read morebut I still kept the Shoyu butterscotch cause it is quite literally the best coffee you can get in Austin. I may be the current Duke of this location, but there is still a lot for me to try. And dang, I really want one of those really nice tote bags. Before I discuss the coffee order I got this time. I wanted to shout out the customer service for being ridiculously amazing. Maybe it was because I got there super early and right when they opened, but this was the first time I did not see them super stressed and low-key freaking out. I usually walk away with my beverages, but this time I sat down. One of the baristas actually came out and checked on me to see how my drinks were. I found this to be super special. Okay, now onto the dirty chai that I ordered. I asked (when I asked about the floral notes that I was tasting) if they made their own chai in house and the woman told me that they in fact did. She also mentioned that I got the end of the house-made batch so what I was tasting might be different from a normal order. I thought this was quite interesting and this was another unique beverage, despite being a staple at many coffee shops. Would I order it again? Probably not but it was good! Also, with the Shoyu butterscotch, I would stick to the iced version. So thank you Desnudo for another great vibe and for making my one hour round-trip always worth it!

It was definitely good and had a unique flavor, but it didn't fully win me over. I enjoyed trying it, but it's probably not something I'd order again. The guava matcha, on the other hand, was incredible. Easily one of the best matchas I've ever had. The flavor was perfectly balanced, not too earthy, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. Exactly how I like my matcha. Overall, such a fun spot to try creative drinks. I'd absolutely come back for the matcha alone! Note to self, my cousins ordered the white miso and they said it was a little too watery. Get it warm ask for ice on the side.

The croissant I had last year was so perfectly crunchy and flakey, literally one of the best croissants I've had in the states. This year it was still good but didn't have that super flaky crunchy top. Still recommend! I've only had the plain. Guava next maybe? And yes, the line is always "long" but they move very quickly. The line was probably 20 people and took less than 10min. Last year they had breakfast tacos in the courtyard from a local place, but I didn't see that this year so maybe it's not happening anymore. Overall 100/10 recommend this place! Worth the wait.
