I was intrigued by the coffee shop's, high-Yelp rating, so I decided to give it a whirl. One of the unique features of the coffee shop is the unique flavors of the coffee offerings. The smoked iced maple latte was calling my name. It is really difficult to describe the flavor as it was very unique. I can't say that the latte filled my mouth with explosive flavor and smoothness simultaneously. I do understand the high rating. Jessica, my barista, was super friendly. In fact, I forgot my debit card and had to go to the car to get it. She told me to go ahead and she would start preparing my latte. That element of trust was very welcomed . Nowadays people will not move a Inch until they see some form of payment. I appreciate her kind gesture. Great coffee experience....

It's a small coffee shop next to Sugar Mama's that easily surpasses some of the bigger coffee shops in Austin. As a major coffee shop Yelper, I compare the taste and quality of a roast, the ingredients in drinks (house made syrups versus regular Monin, etc.) and service/ambience. Sightseer hit all three marks. The location is also super walkable and convenient. You can grab coffee and continue on your way to awesome restaurants and local businesses on South 1st or hit up Soco after.

The staff was super friendly and took their time in helping me pick out a bag of beans based off my personal preferences and intent of use (cortados/lattes vs drip/press). Their beans are well priced at around $14 a bag AND you get a complimentary drip coffee with the purchase! I felt like a winner! I also gave their canned lemonade and coffee drink a try - because why not? It had a unique and almost chocolatey flavor. Not sure if I loved it personally, but the quality of the ingredients and flavors were distinctly there. Certainly will take the time to come back to test out the space for a remote work day or a casual outing. Big plus: They have a parking lot and the option of indoor and outdoor seating. My cappuccino concoction...so good I think it should be a menu feature! The banana guard iced latte my boyfriend got was equally as delicious. It was like an ice cream treat for grown-ups. Everything about the shop is so welcoming. Warm lighting, comfortable seating, and spacious. So much for the eye to take in as they have offerings from local artists and craftspeople for sale. This location is perfect for anyone frequenting the UT area, and I decided to stop by on my way to an art museum. I usually order a Cortado, but after discussing how I prefer it to be made, the owner suggested I try a Macchiato (on my previous visit to their downtown location). On this visit I was served by their friendly Barista, Simon, who did a fabulous job preparing my coffee! They were lovely and made the experience THAT much better. I decided to try their peppermint syrup as opposed to my normal go-to pure cane syrup and was NOT disappointed! I am always pleasantly surprised by their VERY reasonable prices, especially for their level of quality. I will continue to go out of my way, even pay for parking, to visit either location. I find it hard to trust many "up and coming" coffee shops that are promoted by the city's numerous influencers, but this is an establishment I stand behind 1000%! 2026 is the year we all should try to be mindful of how and where we spend our dollar, and supporting locally owned and operated businesses is always a win in my book! Third Coast has become my 'daily driver' for espresso, as their beans offer the best combination of quality, value, and service. El Guapo has been the top choice so far with classic caramel, chocolate notes and a nice syrupy mouthfeel. Every bag has been consistently-roasted and quick to dial-in. Third Coast has so far resisted the insane shrinkflation that has affected many coffee options. As a comparison, local roaster Greater Goods is nearly 2x more expensive, and Third Coast is better. This is the best value in high quality espresso in Austin...and maybe across the US. Highly-recommended!
