For Dad
Hannah L.

Ambiance: This breakfast spot doesn't have the long morning wait that most places do. There's plenty of seating, good service, and the prices are more affordable compared to other spots. "For Dad": For the name, the portion size felt a little small and the dish itself is pretty simple. You can choose between bacon or sausage, and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. One of my sausages was slightly undercooked, but overall the dish was good.

I am part of a men's group that meets monthly for breakfast. Hayley was our server today and she provided prompt, friendly service. I had the "For Dad" which was two pancakes, two eggs and choice of bacon or sausage. Pancakes were fluffy, eggs cooked perfectly and bacon was crispy. Other members had the traditional breakfast, iron man and the healthy breakfast. Everybody enjoyed their meals and folks that got biscuits commented on size (I call them "cat head" biscuits) and tastiness. I had a cappuccino and the folks with coffee always had plenty of hot coffee thanks to Hayley. Y'all come check this place out!

Amazing service and homestyle food. Very cozy, and very casual. Breakfast at Sunview Cafe is a must. There are plenty of options, and portions are generous! My sister and I came and shared 1 entree (pictured). We got the Tex-Mex Skillet which comes with a side option - we chose blueberry pancakes. The Tex-Mex skillet was packed with hash browns, jalapeños, chorizo, onions, cheese, and your choice of eggs- we did over medium. The blueberry pancakes were stuffed with blueberries and topped with blueberries. The skillet was full of flavor in every bite, and the pancakes were fluffy, and the perfect combo with the spicy skillet. Coffee was wonderfully paired with the entree. We even received a dining card at the end hole punched that we bought an entree. If you buy 10, you get $5 off the 11th one. If choosing a place to grab breakfast in Allen, choose Sunview Cafe!

Food was bland. Grits taste like nothing. Pancakes were just ok the service was not good and peace was not even busy. Ambiance is ok. It has potential but needs a little work

We've had meals here twice this week -once for pick up and another because our other brunch spot was unusually busy for Father's Day. I wish we'd just made breakfast at home, to be honest I'd hoped they were just having a "one off" day, but I'm certain this place has changed ownership/management because quality has been off. The coffee is not the same smooth brew and the food is just meh. The servers are working hard, but misdelivered some items as well. My scramble was flavorless and rather greasy today and earlier in week the hash browns tasted like old oil. Fruit on side is cantaloupe and honeydew unless you order something specific with strawberries.

Menu!

Such a cute and homey atmosphere, the food was every bit as good as what I could make at home, which says a lot because it's hard to find good home cooking outside of home these days! I had the breakfast platter and was so impressed! I've attached updated pictures of the menu, as the ones on here aren't up to date, and I was pleased to see the prices significantly cheaper than what had been posted in the past.

This place never fails! Got here by 10am on Sunday morning. We were quickly seated. But it took forever for someone to stop by to take drinks order. There was some confusion in the sides too. All of this was ok as the food was awesome! We ordered Tex- Mex Skillet , veggie Skillets, extra eggs for kids. Both the skillets were awesome and tasted delicious. Pancakes were pretty 'meh'!

Best Migas! Enjoyed a great breakfast. Their Migas with corn tortillas were fabulous! My son had the Texas Skillet. Our plates were clean when we finished. Best compliment for a good meal. Definitely recommend this Allen breakfast spot. Service was excellent too!!

I had the Healthy Breakfast which is egg white, spinach with avocado and low fat cheese. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my food, it was too greasy and the avocado was brown with dark spots. The best part of my meal was the wheat toast which is impossible to mess up. Hubby had the Avocado Chicken sandwich which he said was good. Service was slow. Staff were friendly but extremely slow. The restaurant is laid back, soft music playing in the background. Ambiance is relaxing but I did not enjoy my food therefore I won't be returning.

This place was a pleasant surprise!!! Typical Texas decor with lots of booths. We both ordered omlettes and they were super tasty.... definitely one of the better omelets I have had. Eggs were fluffy and was served very hot which is a real pet peeve for me. The pancakes were also light and yummy. I am deducting a star because it took like 10 minutes to get our check....our waitress simply disappeared for like 20 minutes. Other than that it was great. Definitely one of the top breakfast places in the area.

Food could have been better in my opinion. Quality and taste is reminiscent of a run down diner for lack of a better description. The chicken for the chicken and waffles was under seasoned, same for the hashbrowns. The Oreo pancakes surprisingly were dry and lacked flavor (not sure how that happened). Staff is friendly and food came out fairly quickly. We got there right before it got busy on a weekend.

Great service! Good food and offerings! Nice brunch spot!…read more Stopped by on a Saturday morning around 11:30am and was seated relatively quickly considering the place was packed. Our server was friendly and checked in on us throughout our meal. The Mom omelet was filling (and felt very healthy) with a side of crispy hash browns. My friend enjoyed her eggs Benedict a lot.

There is also bar seating which has one side inside the restaurant and the other side is on the patio. Because the weather was decent on my visits, each time I sat at the bar, on the side accessible from the patio. They have a huge menu with lots to choose from which on first glance can be a little intimidating. In the end, I went with the Mom Omelet which came with a side and a choice of bread. For the side, I chose Home Fries and for the bread I chose the biscuit. As if that wasn't enough food, I opted for a side Buttermilk pancake to complete the order. I was thoroughly impressed with my choices and ended up eating everything but the biscuit which I took home for later. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and welcoming. The bar staff was super attentive and did a great job of ensuring I had what I needed when I needed it. Great service, tasty food and beverages; Broken Yolk is a solid brunch spot!

A special shoutout to Amanda, our server, who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from extra BBQ sauce to additional plates! The booths are HUGE and spacious, which is perfect for families! The kids' menu has great options at reasonable prices, and meals include a drink. We visited on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately with no wait! We also participated in the Fireside event, where you receive a FREE plushie with a qualifying $25 meal purchase. We were celebrating a birthday, and the birthday guest received a FULL-SIZE dessert! Everything was delicious, the portions were generous, and we had plenty to share! The menu continues to evolve, which is good. Although this last visit both my husband and I noticed the menu is becoming very similar to Cheesecake Factory. By that I mean, they are adding more pages, more loose menu pages with options and their menu items are going into realms that seem very off brand (raw ahi tuna plates, shwarma salad, bao buns, etc). Lazy Dog has always been associated with a diverse beer selection, a down home (almost) southern like food menu. A more elevated and sophisticated Cracker Barrell if you will. This detour from the 'norm' gave us both pause - could the food actually be good? While my hubby and kids stuck to their regular options (crispy deviled eggs, buffalo chicken bites, kids menu) I chose to try the Chili Crunch Ahi Tuna - sashimi grade seared rare tuna, furikake-seasoned rice, edamame, avocado, marinated cucumbers, pickled ginger, spicy garlic crunch, citrus soy dipping sauce and it was DELICIOUS!!! I enjoyed every bite of my meal and would absolutely order it again. I definitely think Lazy Dog is making a run for being competition to Cheesecake Factory when it comes to their menu. Their desserts however have a LOOOOONG way to go. The Campfire Cookies were awful!! Stale, cooked firm, every bite had so many white chips it was overwhelming, there was barely any chocolate, the drizzle soaked into the stale cookies and was tasteless. I have a hard time saying no to any cookie, but could easily say no to these every time. I will actually look forward to trying Lazy Dog again now that they have other healthier options to choose from.

We were looking for a good taqueria in Allen and found it here. This is a cozy place with about 10+ tables, playing Mexican music videos, etc. (but not loud enough to interfere with conversation). To try things out, we ordered their grilled cebolla/jalapeño combo, and 4 tacos -pastor, chorizo, barbacoa, & lengua (see photos). These are Mexican Street taco style with 2 corn tortillas. I tried the pastor, chorizo & barbacoa - they were all excellent! Served with onion, cilantro, lime slices and radish slices. Very high quality! I would be happy to eat any of them again, but would probably quadruple down on the pastor because it was just great (and I am a pastor fan - I am still in search of the El Tizoncito style al pastor tacos that you can find in DF, but until I do, these will keep me happy). While I can eat lengua (if I can't find pastor), but my wife is a connoisseur and she liked them (and messaged a friend about them). The Cebolla asados with jalapeños were amazing and an incredible value at ~ $2. We had no chance to try La Sirena (paleteria y fruteria), but it looked very promising. We will be back to try their breakfast offerings. We feel quite fortunate to have found this place.
