I loved this place, the instructors, the community. I am so sad they are closing the end of March. :-(

I've been going to yoga classes for years. But I won't be coming back to this studio. They do not provide true yoga classes as I have experienced them, this is NOT a true yoga studio, this is a yoga mill, cheap corporate "yoga". I think for $124.00 a month, the instructors should go through the class with us, instead, they just walk around spouting a memorized script that NEVER changes. They also have classes with NO instructors, only audio. I could easily do this at home via Youtube (again, for $124 a month!). There is no yoga music, the studio does not convey a "yoga" feeling, it's a sterile environment, and some of the workers are rude. So it's essentially a cold experience. At least for me. I did the 30-day trial, going through several different types of classes they offer, and decided it wasn't for me, but they auto-drafted on the last day of your trial, so be quick to cancel!!! I missed the window and they grabbed my money. I feel this is predatory because they will not refund ANYTHING, they just point to the rules. Also, they don't answer the phone no matter how many times you call all day long. Avoid Sunstone, there are better/real yoga studios out there. I didn't enjoy it, but they can enjoy my monetary contribution. read more

My husband and I have been going to Rockwall Village Sunstone for years and love everything about it. The instructors are first rate, the students are welcoming and the fitness classes are varied - from yoga and barre to core fit and HIIT to name a few. Plus, they have classes throughout the day. If you remember Sunstone from years ago, this is not it. There are far more options, hours and ways to stay fit. Yep. Five stars all the way! read more

This was my second time at Sunstone. I tried the Fire class with a relative, a new instructor in training who taught at the Uptown studio in 2009. Admittedly it's been awhile, and Sunstone successfully branded a modified Bikram class to accommodate a 60 minute format for hot yoga lovers. Although I give them 5 stars for modifying the format of a traditional Bikram class, I give them a 2.5 for the unnecessary monologue and cheery coaching stream that may lead students to expect unnecessary instructor chattiness in the yoga room. "Feel the obliques, You can do it, Hold It Longer" language belongs in personal training or weight training, not in an introspective yoga practice. 5 stars for adjustments and small prompts. 5 stars for studio cleanliness and online followup. 4 stars for providing such a high level of instructor distraction that requires me to have an internal focus to get through the class after a 25 year practice! Sunstone - Are you teaching a team of yogis and yoginis, who rush and pant to finish an hour race with your coaching? We're a community of individuals who bring respective differences and practices to a hot room that offers a format of poses. Model the conditions for students to development introspection. Try not to make yoga sexier than it is! read more

If you're looking for a Yoga studio where the instructors are knowledgeable, the other students are friendly and the facility is spotless, then THIS is what you've been looking for! SunStone at Rockwall Village offers everything from Hot Yoga to Pilates, Hot Flow to Barre classes and everything in-between. And there's almost always a class as early as 6am & as late as 7:30pm. The instructors are truly invested in your practice & growth and will help you make adjustments so that you succeed. No matter who is at the front desk, when you walk in, they are genuinely happy to see you. The locker room areas are more like spa facilities with full showers, towels, shampoo/conditioner & all the niceties :) Mats & yoga pads are provided free of charge. As of January 2018 SunStone is offering HIIT classes, which are a blast...like all their other classes ;) So if you're in need of a facility that has everything for mind, body & spirit with no judgment, SunStone at Rockwall Village is your place. read more

I have been doing yoga for several years. I came to this studio when I first moved to Rockwall from Dallas as yoga was an important part of my life and I wanted to find a studio I loved. This place did not do it for me. In yoga, I look for a challenge and a workout. From here, I got neither. Actually, after the class the instructor came to me and told me I did not practice with proper yoga etiquette. Last time I checked, I was paying for the experience, not the other way around. My girlfriend goes here and she really enjoys it. Classes are fun and challenging and the instructors are knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the students. Clean facility with a welcoming, inclusive environment. Sunstone Rockwall is the perfect yoga studio. read more

So I can't believe there are only 2 other reviews on here! I am brand new to yoga and was immediately welcomed with open arms by employees who have all taken the time to learn my name (and I'm only there once or twice a week). What I like is that there are multiple classes I can choose from. My favorite is Pilates based yoga which is helping to strengthen my core and aid in my yoga poses for other classes. Finally, I love how warm the rooms are, not uncomfortably hot. The heat helps me relax and feel more limber (plus I love to sweat). Obviously I'm a fan, and I don't generally write reviews - so check them out!! read more

I love sunstone , been a member for some years . This is the first time I came 3 mins late to this location and the doors were locked . I drove 25 mins to come to class so its a little frustrating , I know I was late ,but 3 mins ???! The other locations always have a 5 mins grace period at least in the mornings . read more

Best Yoga Studio ever!!! I have tried many places but none offers the combination of yoga and fitness classes that are offered at Sunstone. All the instructors are wonderful and everyone is welcoming to newbies like me . The price is best I have ever encountered and the have many options to fit your budget and schedule. read more

Do yourself a favor and find a different yoga facility. They take the ZEN out of yoga. There were several "courtesy rules" that were not expressed prior to signing my contract. One for example, is if you are 3 mins late (I arrived at 4:33) you will not be allowed into the class. I get 10 mins late, but 3? If this were a policy, it may have been nice to include that into your presentation. Not once was this ever mentioned. Another, is the inconsistency behind not being able to bring in a phone because of disturbances, but you can still wear a smart watch because the beeping from it is apparently not a disturbance. Too many inconsistencies and not enough customer centered service that is applied equally. Luckily there are more hot Yoga facilities opening near the Rockwall and Rowlett areas. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in a contract with these people for several months. read more

The worst Yoga studio from all aspects. A German egotistical instructor was rude and unwelcoming. Another instructor (she was nice, I thought) asked me if I had liked the class my fist time. When I expressed my concern about not getting enough visual guidance, the comment made it all the way to the admins, who actually left me a scolding-toned voice mail saying that visual was not part of the lesson delivery. Instead, what you get is a harsh blinding-bright room with loud microphone talk. You are expected to know all the poses. You'd also better be an Anatomy expert. Nothing there is conducive to introspection...and the energy is far from Zen. They sell you on being a great supportive community but once they take your credit card information, it really is an impersonal place where no practice guidelines or instruction delivery methods are explained ahead of time. It is sink or swim! You feel you are on your own in your journey. These people do not really honor the Yoga practice as a philosophy. It is a sorry watered-down Westernized version merely in the pursuit of profit. read more
