I have a membership and I don't get to use it often but when I do, it's worth every penny and I truly enjoy that. It's not ever crowded. Not ever packed everything. We need to have a good workout. The bathrooms are nice and clean I especially love that one of the bathrooms has a shower. And if you forget your supplies as a rental vending machine, which I think is pretty cool I like this location is over 24 hours and you can always come in and get a workout. I have used the weight system and it's nice and effective and gets the job done. My absolute favorite part whatever pay the little towels that have essential oils in them for after a workout. Parking is sufficient and I have never had a complaint. The only thing that I hate is it right next-door to Crumbl cookie. Lol the temptation is real. I can't think of anything that would make this location better so for that I'm leaving a five star review. Thank you for your customer service and commitment to physical health.

I've been charged…read moremultiple times without any notification, reminder, or communication, and every time I've had to deal with the same response: once the money is taken, there's supposedly nothing they can do because they "don't refund." I canceled my membership in February after already attempting to cancel it previously. I was under the impression that it had been canceled, only to find out months later that the previous employee apparently put my account on a pause until September instead of actually canceling it. seven months later, I was charged again. I live over an hour away from this location, and hadn't received any communication about since May. Mind you, I did try to work with them, maybe move to a location near me, so I could use the month that they charged me for, but according that wouldn't work unless I upgraded my membership.... The other solution they offered? A free month at their location. I don't want an "additional month" and like how will that fix anything when I literally live over an hour away. That's literally over two hours of driving plus gas for a 15-30 minute workout. How is extending a membership to a location I'm not near, supposed to fix the problem? The customer service throughout this situation has been just as disappointing. The employee spoke to me in a very sarcastic and dismissive tone while I was trying to resolve the issue. When I called to cancel again, she said, "It's canceled, have a good day, bye!". I was literally still trying to speak to her to make sure I would get a confirmation email of the cancellation, but couldn't even ask because she end the phone call. I called back the next day and was told that I would be hearing from the owner through text regarding the situation. I never received that text. I never spoke with the owner. I was also told, essentially, that they could ask the owner about a refund but that she "probably wasn't going to refund me." If you're going to ask the owner, then ask the owner. Don't tell the customer what the answer is going to be before the conversation even happens. At that point, I had no choice but to let my bank handle the situation. And thankfully I did, because tell me why, after ALL of this, HOTWORX Mckinney attempted to charge me AGAIN today.‍ I have already tried to cancel. I have spoken with the employees. I was told the account was canceled. I was promised follow-up from the owner that never happened. And somehow, I'm still being charged. HOTWORX markets itself around health, wellness, and caring about its members, but my experience has shown me that they don't seem to care much about you as a customer once there's a problem. If they genuinely cared about their customers, a situation like this should have been a simple customer-service issue to resolve. As a business owner myself, I would never let my customers have an experience like this. And mind you, I still never received a confirmation email for my cancellation. And they are still trying to charge me, so I guess it still not actually canceled. Who knows at this point. I'm completely over it. I will not be going back to this location, and I'm not going to say not to go to Hotworx because I know one of the instructors and the workouts are great, but THIS location I would not recommend. If you're considering joining, please make sure you understand exactly how cancellations, pauses, reactivations, and automatic billing work and get EVERYTHING in writing. Upon visiting the facility to inquire about cancellation, I was informed that settling my yearly dues is a prerequisite. As a senior on a fixed income, I'm particularly sensitive to unexpected expenses. Given my eligibility for free gym membership through Medicare, I've opted for an alternative gym that participates in the program. It's concerning that Planet Fitness appears to prioritize membership fees over customer needs, continuing to deduct payments despite my infrequent use of the facility. I'm prepared to accept the financial implications of non-payment, as I believe the company's practices are unfair to consumers. I advise prospective members to carefully review the terms before committing to a membership.

The gym is in a great location and isn't usually too busy. You sometimes have to wait for a machine…read morebut it's not bad at all. It's generally very clean and it's a relaxing place to work out. My only real complaint is that several of the machines need lubrication and basic maintenance. I've told staff about them but they haven't addressed it. Also several of the machines are bent/crooked and have holes in the padding. I'm tempted to bring a tube of grease with me and do the maintenance myself. It takes seconds to reach into the weight area and add some grease to the rails. The tricep extension machine has a very crooked bar. IT's 4 degrees off level (the part you hold onto and push down with both hands) which puts unequal pressure on your wrists and elbows with each rep. Leg Extension Machine to the left of the leg press has really bad chatter greater than 140lbs which prevents it form operating smoothly. If you do a rep too fast the weight gets grabby and gets stuck. This HURTS. Dependent Bicep Curl machine is bent and missing a palm sized piece of padding where you lay your elbows. The handgrip arm is bent at an angle and is not level. This makes doing reps awkward and crooked and hurts your left wrist. The chest press machine directly behind the seated row machine and closer to the dumbell area is badly in need of lubrication. Anything over 100lbs and the force to get the bar moving goes up exponentially and it chatters and has jerky motion. The weights moving up and down on the metal rails get grabby and don't move smoothly. The seated row machine by the chest press also needs lubrication. Anything greater than 200lbs and you almost can't move the bar, then it suddenly becomes unstuck and moves normally until you do your next rep. It sometimes squeaks and chatters loudly when this happens.

I see some of the trainers push around a mini dust buster or use dirty, dust coated dusters pushing around more dust and dirt, but I've never seen anything be sanitized or any cleaning products come out. The corners of the gym and the bottom of every machine are coated in dirt and dust. The sign in desk is always coated in a layer of dust. They don't even bother to turn on the fans anymore because they are so dusty. I mean COATED. Speaking of fans, it's always boiling hot in there. It's uncomfortable. They need to spend a little money and have the place professionally cleaned minimum once a week. All other gyms I've belonged to hired DAILY cleaners. I don't think once a week, especially when they're only open 6 days, in a building where people sweat and touch things all day, is asking too much. They also need to get rid of their (basically empty) glade plug ins. Somehow the gym rarely smells, which is great, but those plug ins emit VOCs and are terrible for your lungs. That's the last thing you need to worry about in a gym where breathing is key. And crank up the AC year round. I know it's expensive, but that's the nature of the business. I wish they had a few more machines, but for the size of the place they have a nice set up. It could be a great little neighborhood gym. I enjoy going, I'm just always worried about getting overheated or sick. They have a good thing going here. Everyone is nice and respectful. Just needs some TLC.

Apparently due to some sort of miscommunication, something went awry with my cancellation and it was either not received, not processed, or both. A YEAR AND A HALF AFTER THE FACT - in October 2025, I receive communication from a debt collector saying that I owe almost $1300 in back charges. This gym NEVER, NOT ONCE sent me any communication informing me that there was an issue with my account. I was not provided any notice whatsoever that there was a problem - no bill, no phone call, no text, no mail. Instead they just kept accruing charges FOR A YEAR AND A HALF without my knowledge and hit me with a $1300 collections bill. I was never given an opportunity to correct this beforehand, before it got out of hand. This is NOT the way a reputable business conducts themselves.

My biggest frustration and cause for me to cancel my membership was over the most ridiculous business practice. I set up my payments with auto pay from a credit card. About a year into my membership the credit card expired and I forgot to update my card. ONE DAY after the due date I get a harassing collection call. A simple text message or email asking me to update my card would do just fine. Then I see a $25 "processing fee" on my credit card after I updated it. AC (the owner) replied that he's not charging me, but it's the billing company he outsources to and they charge when an account goes to collections. Sorry bud, but you picked them and they represent your name and reputation. Needing to update a credit card within a few days of due date isn't something that should "go to collections" in the first place. The fact they're willing to let a member leave over something so trivial and typical is beyond me. Recurring revenue on monthly auto pay is the life-blood of many businesses. There are plenty of payment solutions in the market that would make life easier on your customers.
