They create a very welcoming, inclusive space where I have never felt judged or less than. I have always felt safe under their instruction, knowing that they may challenge me, but that they would never push me to injury. They normalize and encourage the use of props, modifications, etc, allowing everyone to explore each pose in their body without forcing it or feeling discouraged. I have also had several work related injuries during my time at NTY, and the instructors have always helped me to modify my practice, without making me feel like the center of attention. This community is truly one of the best I have ever encountered! I have always loved yoga, and have attended many classes at different studios over the years. As a plus sized person, I often felt intimidated, judged, and self conscious at these other studios. At NTY I felt immediately welcomed, safe, and comfortable. They offer different types of classes, so that you can pick the best fit for your personal goals. There are people at all levels present in each class, and I have never once felt like I didn't belong. If you are at all like me, maybe trying yoga for the first time, or feeling unsure in a new fitness environment, this is the place for you! Looking to take your fitness goals to the next level, or improve your flexibility without hurting yourself? You are welcome here! I just attended my first session at Yoga Balance, a Fundamentals class with Tracy. I was worried…read morethat I wouldn't be able to do everything, as I'm 62, out of shape, and have no sense of balance. Well, it was difficult for me, but Tracy helped me and I felt comfortable about it all, though still annoyed that I let myself get so out of condition. Tracy was moving around everywhere, helping all the students with adjustments or corrections, explaining how we could modify a pose when we had difficulty. She gave me a folded blanket to protect my knees, a bolster, and a block to support my back, and helped me out when I couldn't get into position--while helping everyone else, too--how about that for multitasking. The Fundamentals class was difficult for me so I'll try the Gentle Yoga class next--will definitely continue going to Yoga Balance to get myself healthier: the place is very welcoming and calming and I wanted to hang around and just absorb the mental and emotional peace. It's nice that they have such a selection of classes for the very unready like me to the advanced. The other students (yogis?) were kind and considerate---no one made fun of me, and I felt comfortable in spite of my difficulties. The fees are very reasonable ($10 or $15 per class), there are no contracts or enrollment fees to lock you in, and the studio is small and cozy. I was concerned that it would have an exclusive upscale feel that would intimidate me (it's in a rather upscale neighborhood of McKinney), but it was friendly and inclusive, kind, and welcoming. Really a nice place.

Cathy was able to identify what muscles were compensating for my injury. She then, after just a few sessions, turned the weak muscles back on so everything would operate together like they are supposed to. Simple maintenance keeps me pain free!!!!! I have a membership and I don't get to use it often but when I do, it's worth every penny and I truly enjoy that. It's not ever crowded. Not ever packed everything. We need to have a good workout. The bathrooms are nice and clean I especially love that one of the bathrooms has a shower. And if you forget your supplies as a rental vending machine, which I think is pretty cool I like this location is over 24 hours and you can always come in and get a workout. I have used the weight system and it's nice and effective and gets the job done. My absolute favorite part whatever pay the little towels that have essential oils in them for after a workout. Parking is sufficient and I have never had a complaint. The only thing that I hate is it right next-door to Crumbl cookie. Lol the temptation is real. I can't think of anything that would make this location better so for that I'm leaving a five star review. Thank you for your customer service and commitment to physical health.

Extremely disappointing experience at HOTWORX McKinney (University location). I've been charged…read moremultiple times without any notification, reminder, or communication, and every time I've had to deal with the same response: once the money is taken, there's supposedly nothing they can do because they "don't refund." I canceled my membership in February after already attempting to cancel it previously. I was under the impression that it had been canceled, only to find out months later that the previous employee apparently put my account on a pause until September instead of actually canceling it. seven months later, I was charged again. I live over an hour away from this location, and hadn't received any communication about since May. Mind you, I did try to work with them, maybe move to a location near me, so I could use the month that they charged me for, but according that wouldn't work unless I upgraded my membership.... The other solution they offered? A free month at their location. I don't want an "additional month" and like how will that fix anything when I literally live over an hour away. That's literally over two hours of driving plus gas for a 15-30 minute workout. How is extending a membership to a location I'm not near, supposed to fix the problem? The customer service throughout this situation has been just as disappointing. The employee spoke to me in a very sarcastic and dismissive tone while I was trying to resolve the issue. When I called to cancel again, she said, "It's canceled, have a good day, bye!". I was literally still trying to speak to her to make sure I would get a confirmation email of the cancellation, but couldn't even ask because she end the phone call. I called back the next day and was told that I would be hearing from the owner through text regarding the situation. I never received that text. I never spoke with the owner. I was also told, essentially, that they could ask the owner about a refund but that she "probably wasn't going to refund me." If you're going to ask the owner, then ask the owner. Don't tell the customer what the answer is going to be before the conversation even happens. At that point, I had no choice but to let my bank handle the situation. And thankfully I did, because tell me why, after ALL of this, HOTWORX Mckinney attempted to charge me AGAIN today.‍ I have already tried to cancel. I have spoken with the employees. I was told the account was canceled. I was promised follow-up from the owner that never happened. And somehow, I'm still being charged. HOTWORX markets itself around health, wellness, and caring about its members, but my experience has shown me that they don't seem to care much about you as a customer once there's a problem. If they genuinely cared about their customers, a situation like this should have been a simple customer-service issue to resolve. As a business owner myself, I would never let my customers have an experience like this. And mind you, I still never received a confirmation email for my cancellation. And they are still trying to charge me, so I guess it still not actually canceled. Who knows at this point. I'm completely over it. I will not be going back to this location, and I'm not going to say not to go to Hotworx because I know one of the instructors and the workouts are great, but THIS location I would not recommend. If you're considering joining, please make sure you understand exactly how cancellations, pauses, reactivations, and automatic billing work and get EVERYTHING in writing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location. Uh
