This HOTWORX is just okay. compared to Fairview location it's not great and very underwhelming. it never feels fully clean, and the service is mediocre. the vending machine is not great either but the physical spaces and workouts are fine. I wish this location was more clean, friendly and involved with guests. I really wish they offered makeup wipes in the restrooms, soray deodorant and cold towels like Fairview. in comparison for the same price this location isnt really worth it- but the benefits of the sauna are. however I wouldn't recommend this location, but I would recommend hotworx as a whole and the Fairview location if you can do the drive! read more

I enjoy being a member at this location. I love that I can workout at anytime. My fav workout session is Blast, but lately the machines are not working properly & hopefully they will be fixed or new ones will be provided, since I do pay over $60 per month. One of the biggest downsides to these workouts is not having enough time between sessions. There should at least be 5 minute breaks between sessions. Time should be given to clean machines or for saunas to heat up when not in use. Also I wish instead of putting a code or using my app to open the doors a keycard could be used like most gyms. read more

This spot has been great during this pandemic. The workouts were isolated after lockdown to one person per sauna. Now that things are more stable they have opened the saunas to two individuals per sauna. The virtual workouts are provided with virtual instructor guidance. They have forty-five minute workouts and HIIT workouts that are fifteen minutes. These are some of the best workouts that I've enjoyed the most. The these particular workouts have helped me anytime that I've hit a plateau. The staff is also awesome, they are all super attentive. One of the greatest things that the staff is always on top of is their burnout challenges. Could not have found a better place to do hot sauna infrared workouts. read more

I've been a member with Hotworx for 4 years. Yesterday a staff member accused me of stealing a towel and I said "I bought this at the Lake Highlands location like 5 years ago." She comes back with "That location wasn't even open 5 years ago." OK, you got me there, it was 2018 not 2017, eye roll. Congrats on alienating a longtime member, I guess. Fabulous studio at the infrared will make any aching joints or bones feel almost instantly better it's like magic. I can make all day and all night and walk into the studio and go into the sauna and within a minute I feel fabulous enough to do two or three classes back to back. This rating is purely reflective of this location and not Hotworx as a whole. I LOVE hotworx in general. I went to this location regularly for a year because it was the only one close to me. When I signed up, I was told it was a minimum 3 month commitment, and then I could cancel at any time. Everyone knows how insane the housing market is currently, and we got so lucky in getting an offer accepted in the McKinney area, and moved within a month. This was during Christmas/New Years, and then I called to cancel and switch my membership to the McKinney location, because I now live almost 30 minutes away from Richardson. I was told that I had to give a 2 month notice, which is ridiculous and never mentioned when I originally signed up. A 1 month notice is standard for most gyms. I informed the manager that I recently moved, and there was no way I could make the drive to workout there, and just wanted to switch to a different location. Shanice's exact words were "we have already let too many people switch to the McKinney location, and can't make any more exceptions". So apparently they pick and choose who they want to help. So now I'm stuck paying for February & March, when I won't be able to go there at all. And I can't start going to the McKinney location, because I would be paying double membership for 2 months. So just know, even if you move out of city or state, or have any legitimate reason you can no longer workout, you will continue paying for 2 months. She also asked why I all of a sudden cared about paying the monthly fee if I hadn't been utilizing it. Insinuating that I blindly paid without ever coming to workout. I was a loyal customer for an entire year coming 3-4 times a week up until my move. She was very condescending when speaking to me. The saunas at this location are falling apart, and literally taped back together. I would also regularly come during staffed hours to find the saunas at a low temperature, and it would take half my workout for them to heat back up. I hope the extra $50 dollars you made was worth this bad review. read more

Good workouts, but manager rarely has her mask over her nose. Often the saunas are down to 0 minutes even when it's staffed so you have to wait for it to heat up during your workout. Also they let you workout in any sauna with no regard for scheduling for some reason. Disappointing. read more

Would have never seen myself doing an infrared workout but boy am I glad I joined! This place is so CLEAN and it puts other boutique facilities to shame. Haley, the GM, is amazing! I LOVE this gym!! It is personal saunas so you don't feel like 100 people are watching you while you work out! You get in such a great workout in as little as 15 minutes which you can't beat especially if you're someone always on the go and trying to maintain a healthy balance! They have a variety of workouts which is amazing! Also the staff is so helpful and nice!! I highly highly recommend if you're looking for something different but makes you feel great!! read more

I can't rave enough about HotWorx! The combination of quick workouts + heat + infrared has opened a door to a type of exercise I have never done before. The increased sweat from the heat has extremely helped in my detox and lymphatic therapy journey. Having the sauna available 24/7, for exercise or just to relax, has played a huge part in my mental health journey as well. I really wish this would've worked for me. The process to sign up for a free trial session takes some effort if you work outside of the "staffed hours" because you can only contact them or try during staffed hours. I decided to try the Hot Yoga. I'm taller, 5"8, so I was unable to do the poses fully because I couldn't fully extend my arms without hitting the ceiling due to the saunas being so tiny. Also, unless you are very familiar with yoga and know the pose terms you can't watch the screen with the virtual teacher on any of the lower or ground poses without twisting your head/neck at a weird angle because the screen is high up on the wall at standing eye level. I don't know if they have more than 1 virtual yoga class, but this isn't really designed for basic beginners. Being frustrated I decided to leave after about 10 minutes. The manager offered to let me try a different type of workout to see if it was a better "fit" but by this time I was feeling defeated and not in the mood. This place is probably great for smaller people. I really wanted to experience the benefits of Hot Yoga, but I guess I'll have to try a different way. read more
