Everything was fine, but nothing on the menu was exciting. The appetizers looked much more interesting than the entrées. I sat at the bar. The service was excellent. I had the grouper sandwich. It was good. Very simple. The fish wasn't really large enough to cover the bun but it was well seasoned. The brioche bun was also good. I asked for remoulade sauce instead of the Mayo it was served with. That helped a good deal to add flavor. As to atmosphere...very casual. The weather was torrential so I had to eat inside. Very few inside tables have a view, but I did walk out onto the deck and it was spacious and nice with a great view. I think the lunch menu just needs a revamp to be a great place. When I eat in a seaside town at a restaurant on a wharf, I expect interesting, seafood dishes. At a minimum, some crabcakes or fresh oysters. read more

Stopped in for lunch and was impressed with the cleanliness and staff enforcing the Covid-19 guidelines. Brad ordered the redfish taco special with sweet potato chips. The fish was grilled to perfection and the sauce was just enough spice topped with grilled slaw. Healthy and delicious. I got the snapper throats with couscous and fresh local green beans. I had the grilled grouper throats and they were DIVINE! I would order them again without hesitation. Other members of my party got the Bouillabaisse (very nice) and grilled shrimp. They said the shrimp was great but I couldn't see ordering something you can get anywhere along the coast. The service was fantastic and the views were great. The others ordered the bread pudding and a key lime dessert which looked sinfully good. I didn't have any but judging from how fast they disappeared I'll assume they were as good as everything else. Overall, this Sunset Pointe is probably the best of the best. It has the best view, and some of the best food and service. It's top notch from A to Z. We went on a rainy Sunday and sat inside. I had to do a walk-thru of the patio. It was so gorgeous. There were picnic tables, and even a few chairs and a fire pit, overlooking the sailboats docked in the marina. Hollywood couldn't create a more perfect location. We chose to sit inside due to the weather, but no worries, there were huge windows all across the front and side of the dining area and bar. The bar had a few tvs, and I was thinking to myself it would be a great place to catch the game. The food - WOW! We started with the Kamikaze Chicken and Crab Macaroni and Cheese and we knew we were in the right place after the first bites. For my entree, I ordered the Eastern Shore Bouillabaisse, which was mussels, shrimp, fish, tomatoes, onions and spices in a white wine seafood sauce. It was absolutely incredible! Although we were stuffed, we had to finish off with a little bread pudding, because I can't say "no" to bread pudding. It certainly didn't disappoint. The prices were average for the quality of food. The service was exceptional. Sunset Pointe is the perfect laid back coastal restaurant. read more

*Roaches* Didn't notice until after we got our food that there were multiple live roaches crawling on the ceiling. We left immediately after seeing this. This was probably the only restaurant I could find on a Sunday in Fairhope that had cocktails, non-fried seafood, and a gorgeous view of the waters. Always opt to take a seat by the waters. However, the lighting at night for this area is pretty terrible, and it made reading the menu pretty difficult. It doesn't help (and this is not the restaurant's fault) that termites were flying around and about. The grilled snapper was expensive but delicious. I couldn't finish the rice on this dish but the snapper was cooked wonderfully. We also ordered a BBQ shrimp appetizer. It was good and worth sharing. The Fairhope 75 was the perfect summer drink. My favorite restaurant in Fairhope! Where do I start? The back porch has a great view, especially during the sunsets. Must sit outside during great weather. They have a good selection of beer and tasty cocktails as well. Must try: #1 snapper throats. I wasn't sure what to expect but you get a couple huge portions along with veggies and starch. #2 chargrilled oysters appetizers. Although a bit pricey (I think $18 for 6), they taste incredible. #3 snapper fillet with crab meat on top. This was their special for the night and I am glad I ordered it. I think it was my favorite meal in the two weeks I was in Fairhope, with the snapper throats coming in at a close second. Definitely a must try place for those who come to Fairhope. read more

My wife and I found this restaurant completely by accident. It is located on Mobile Bay in Fairhope. There is dockage for boats for dining! The building it self looks like many Fairhope houses, board and baton siding and wood shutters. Located just outside fly creek marina it has a great water view and lots of outside seating for waiting and dining. The drink menu and bar are well stocked and ready to set you up if you have to wait for a table. The menu is not extensive but I have to say there is nothing on it that I would not want to try! Our waitress Grace was phenomenal. She took our drink order and told us about the specials. We ordered two appetizers , as this was our first time there. The south Mediterranean tuna crudo is my new favorite food! It is a must try! My wife ordered the eastern shore bouillabaisse and it is out of this world. Our main courses were the fried grouper sandwich and the snapper special. Both were a huge hit. Fresh ,well cooked and very tasty! We tried the blueberry bread pudding for desert and it as well was a home run! Overall this place is a 5 star experience in my book. Ambiance good with the marina view. The menu looked delicious... the food was good but not delicious. The bbq shrimp had a distinct spice I've never had in bbq shrimp. The sourdough toast points served with it were good. I just wasn't a fan of the broth/sauce. I'm cajun so I'm not just saying that although I recognize people do it differently. The appetizer with the jalapeño sesame chicken (kamikaze chicken) was not a great flavor and kind of dry. This has ALWAYS been my favorite restaurant in town for several reasons; food, ambiance, and service. It can't be beat and I have yet to be disappointed! Today I was dealing with wifi and other hurricane related disruptions at home so I called up asking if I could bring my dog and sit on their patio to do some work for a few hours and grab a bite and some drinks. The response I received on the phone was more than welcoming and Luke even came out to check on us. Updating my review. We went to Sunset Pointe last Sunday for appetizers and a drink. The weather was so great and the atmosphere and service so good that we stayed for dinner. You just cannot beat the ambiance that Sunset Pointe offers In my previous review, I commented on the management as lacking and quite rude. I must say, that our latest experience was much, much different. Our server was excellent and was well compensated as a result. Maybe the best waiter that we have have in a very long time. He seemed to really enjoy what he does for a living. After ordering a bottle of La Crema Pino Noire to get the mood started with the incredible view over Mobile Bay, we started out with appetizers of the Grouper "Bights" and Mrs Jones Crispy Oyster Po Boy "Bights". For the little ones we ordered the fried chicken tenders and popcorn shrimp. The Grouper Bights were delicious. Kim even ordered another serving for her meal! Wow!!! The Oysters were fantastic. Great start! For my entrée I had to try the Snapper Throats. They came out a bit small and dry...I asked the waiter for extra Lemon Beurre sauce, and he quickly took them away promising that they would be served correctly. Kudos to him! The replacement dish was fantastic. Really a great dish. For desert we had the deconstructed Key Lime Pie. We spoon-battled the kiddos for a taste....excellent! With the sun setting over the Bay and our culinary appetites satisfied, we could not have been more pleased with our experience at Sunset Pointe and will definitely be returning. read more

Especially on a nice Alabama evening, you will get to enjoy the beautiful sunset, boats coming in and out and the traditional "sunset ringing of the bell" toast!
