RUN!! Do not use this company. SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE Why is Costco working with this company? Terrible communication by the project manager where I had to contact the sales guy because no one would keep us informed of what was happening. The project manager Kassandra just doesn't respond to you. The guys that worked on the job were professional BUT now my Samsung electric range is not working. The same day that the guys left, my range was turning on but wasn't heating up, they sent someone who "fixed" it but even when it wasn't turned on, the red button that said "hot surface" was on and the guy said he couldn't do anything about it. WE WERE WILLING TO WORK WITH THAT (even though it's only two years old) HOWEVER AFTER THE GUY LEFT, IT TURNS ON BUT EVEN AT THE LOWEST SETTING, IT'S HIGH AND TURNING THE KNOBS DO NOT ADJUST THE HEAT LEVEL. FIX MY RANGE!!!!!!! No one answered my calls back. I will be filing my complaint with Costco to DROP THIS INCOMPETENT COMPANY. You want quality company that works with Costco and man I was been steered wrong. I wish I looked at Yelp reviews before using this company. read more

Sun run is a joke customer service and case managers don't return calls I have a big pigeon problem , I referenced 2 friends that have sun run and are having the same problems that I am having with pigeons , they want to charge another $1800.00 dollars to put critter guards around solar that they put on my roof , I pay $600.00 dollars for some one to go on my roof to clean up the pigeon poop and remove eggs every 3 months which is $1800.00 a year. What really ticks me off is one of my friends I referenced ,sunrun is willing to put critter guards on his solar for free but won't do it for me . it took sunrun a year to give us our money for referencing The friends we sent them when my wife called to inquire about the the reference money a case manager told her just be happy it's free money you never had , RUDE !!! I highly recommend to find a solar company that will throw in critter guards for you before you place them on your roof , I had 3 more references that sign up for sun run but backed out when they found out what happened to us I highly recommend not to use sun run. My friends all have Simple Solaris out of Hayward they say that they installed pigeon guards for free and better savings. This is a picture underneath my solar panels that sun run installed I have nest like these on my whole roof read more

Sunrun Solar - Solar Installation Near Me - Dublin, California

How can a business be this bad and stay in business? I got a good price, a delayed but terrible install, and now a defective battery that shut down. After waiting months for a replacement battery, Sunrun scheduled a service call. I've been waiting for three hours and called customer support to find out if the tech will make it today. They never called back. read more

They removed me from their mailing, which I appreciate. So kudos for paying attention to complaints. Upgraded to 3 stars

Hey Sunrun!! Thank you so much for another year of zero savings and another $1,500+ true up bill. You guys are a joke and the only thing worse than your system is your customer service. Saynotosunrun.com read more

Hi guys. Thanks for taking care of my service bill. Let's do business again soon. Ken

A few weeks out from my install, I cancelled my order. Thanking my lucky stars, after reading these other reviews. I experienced the same bad customer service, as well my order has been fraught with delays and errors which I've had to correct even though I provided SunRun with every bit of information they would need to be successful. I finally decided if they couldn't get any of this right, despite me holding their hand the entire way (even though they said they are experts and would handle everything), then how would the install and ongoing support go? There are so many local companies with great ratings, it seems silly to go with SunRun. I'll be putting my money back into the local community, and would urge you to do the same. I've already begun talking with a local installer, who has been 100% the opposite of the SunRun experience (Cozy Hvac) read more

We have been Costco members for years and always wondered about solar. This is not the place for someone to hire solar installation. We set up a day for the contractor to come out and check our roof and do a fly over with a drone. The guy came to our door, asked my husband if he wanted a new roof and when my husband said no he said that his manager will call us. No one called, and we got an email stating the contract was canceled. The guy's name is Colin and he never called or tried to get a hold of us. I called and left him a message to call me back with the next steps, but never got a call from anyone. We expected better from Sunrun because they are always in Costco's stores. read more

The only reason I even gave them one star is because of the hope we have that the solar will eventually be turned on and we can get out from under PG & E. We have continuously had to contact them about plugs in various rooms not working. Upstairs bedrooms, laundry room, garbage disposal, bathroom downstairs. Just about everyplace in the house. They have had to correct problems found at 3 inspections and each time something else goes wrong. Right now, we have discovered that all the wiring in the IN house electrical panel has been either taken out or disconnected. WHY??? We they first sent workers out to actually do the wiring, they made Such a mess of the walls and ceiling in the laundry room. I had to hire someone else to correct it. They removed a piece of wood in the wall (a stud!) because they didn't know what they were doing. SunRun admitted that all their contractors were unavailable so they sent one of their workers who said he could do it. WRONG!! The gentlemen who came out this morning had a work order to come out but nothing on the work order said what they were supposed to do. My husband had to tell them. They are actually the gentlemen who discovered the problem in the circuit box. I could write on and on but it would just make me sick. I did "mention" in my email to the project manager, this morning, that maybe legal action should be our next recourse. I'm posting this review in the listing for the Dublin office because it is the closest to where we live. Our project manager is actually in the Midwest somewhere because the local project manager was extremely rude and condescending to me the first time we spoke. read more

Very poor service. We signed a contract in October 2017 and do not have anything to show for it. It's almost June 2018We have not heard from Sunrun in over 6 weeks. The sales rep has no answers and the experience has been below the lowest expectations for anyone affiliated with Costco. I would look elsewhere. 2/26/19. After a very rough start, we got the service levels we expected and after 13 mo the we got live with solar. PGE was oftentimes the bottleneck and we had employee turnover on both sides. The electrical contractor for Sunrun was very good as well. read more

So since my last review, I would downgrade my 1 star if it was possible. I have called a few times, and been given nothing but the runaround. We've now had 2 appointment no-shows with no follow up at all. I've tried to elevate how frustrated I am but I get nowhere. I am now convinced that they do not want to pay for the repair so they are stalling on purpose. I'm now headed towards legal channels to pursue breach of contract. DO NOT USE SUNRUN!!!! read more

This company sucks. We had solar panels installed in our Walnut Creek House. We sold our house 1/29 (closing date) so we have to transfer ownership. The Title Co. had already sent them the final Deed of Sale but they said they haven't received it. Then March came and I got a letter from collection agency that I haven't paid my bill with Sunrun. I got a sky rocketed bill from PGE for the month of January and when I called them they said my service stopped from Sunrun. When I called Sunrun customer support is saying that PGE bill is different from Sunrun. Also their customer support is very poor. When we're selling our house and giving them a call to process the transfer I am on hold for 3 hrs and when somebody got to answer me I am being bounced from one department to another. This is too bad read more

THE SCAM OF ALL SCAMS! YOUR UTILITY COSTS WILL INCREASE, NOT DECREASE. Everything NEGATIVE you read about this company is true. The POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT is a scam. It does not save you any money on your utility bills and gives Sunrun all the tax rebates and financial benefits of going Solar. They are in partnership with Southern California Edison and other major utility companies. Sunrun and your utility companies basically use your home as a makeshift powerplant that doesn't save you any money, instead benefits both of them financially while holding your home hostage. for 20 years. Furthermore, the engineers at this company deliberately design a system too small to meet your electric needs. We have plenty more roof space that could have been used for panels and actually allow us to benefit from solar. Instead we are losing money on our electric bills and have our monthly payment to sunrun increase each year. All and all it's a huge scam. Sunrun hasn't even cleaned our maintained the system as promised. No yearly cleanings, no follow up, no nothing. The Sales reps for this company are encouraged to be dishonest to potential customers and lock them into a contract by any means necessary including deceptive and dishonest sales tactics (Don't believe me, read the multiple reviews on Glassdoor from former Sunrun employees or talk to former workers). They will promise you the world, and once you sign that contract you are met with nothing but excuses on why your system isn't activated (took me six months and tweeting their CEO to finally have it up and running), why your system isn't working and why they won't fix damage they did to your home. Dealing with the regional Sales Managers is the worst because they are behind the deceptive sales practices and horrible customer service you're receiving. Dealing with them is like dealing with the most corrupt and crooked Politicians. When you try to hold them accountable, all they do is shift accountability and gaslight you. You never get any resolution to legitimate concerns. They are master manipulators who know how to avoid helping customers with legitimate grievances by pushing customers buttons and upsetting them so they don't want to call. I could go on forever about how messed up and dishonest this company is. I have spoken to former employees who worked under Travis Leung, Regional Manager for Inland Empire Riverside county region. They stated under his leadership they are encouraged to lie to people and give false information. They are encouraged to rush customers through the contract so they question it. This sadly is common business practice that was taught from the READ EVERYTHING WITH AN ATTORNEY BEFORE SIGNING. They clearly spent millions in legal fees to draft up a sneaky and deceptive, but legally binding contract which the Sales Team rushes you to sign without thoroughly reviewing it. Once you sign and they are on your home, you're screwed. They have you hostage. I could go on about how horrible this company. They financially exploit senior citizens, hard working families and people on limited incomes all for the sake of a lousy commission. They don't pay their workers in a timely manner and over work them. Everything about this organization is BAD BAD BAD to the core. But customers are finally organizing and getting their messages out on Social media, Youtube and in person. I have saved almost 150 people for going with this company in six months (yes I keep track). Every time I am in Costco or Home Depot and I see their sales reps trying to scam another innocent person, I approach them and share my experience. Every time they thank me and walk away. Sunrun might have my home hostage and I'm stuck paying for their snake oil solar panels that do nothing. However, Myself and many other customers will continue getting the word out that no good can come of purchasing, leasing or having one of their systems on your home. If you do decide to go with sunrun for solar, purchase your system so they can't cheat you out of the rebates and you own it outright. But it's best to with a local, smaller Solar provider and avoid this Sunrun all together. There are no benefits doing business with this company. Do not even bother consulting with them. Zero stars for customer service. Minus stars if possible. We sold our house last year. We were out on Oct. 7th. Every month since Sunrun/Vivint has been taking money out of our bank account to pay for solar usage. (They are also charging the new owners.) Every month we call them to complain and every month they say they will fix it. And every month so far (June 2022) they don't fix it. Every month they say they will start 'an investigation' with their billing people, but if we begin a 'charge back' with our bank, it will be out of their hands and they will do nothing further. I don't know if they are crooks (how many people are they doing this to? How many don't notice?) or just totally incompetent. I highly recommend no one do business with Sunrun/Vivint. read more

Set up a consultation after getting some information from Costco. Appointment was confirmed through email with rep's name for 9:30am the following day. I am leaving this Sunrun review on Yelp mainly to express my total DISAPPOINTMENT with Sunrun. I contacted Sunrun to remove existing solar panels from my roof in order to complete a total roof replacement. I signed the Sunrun quote and from that point on, it's been total silence on their part I have called Sunrun daily trying to get a status update but give up after waiting on hold for over an hour each time. Their recorded message states that calls will be picked up in less than 5 minutes, but no such luck. I've been reading reviews lately and now wondering if Sunrun is still in business?? If they are, can someone with knowledge contact me to update me as to when a contractor will be assigned to remove and replace my solar panels? Sunrun after-sales service has been a total nightmare to deal with. My neighbor is currently considering using Sunrun for their home energy needs. You can probably guess my opinion. Sunrun is great on the sales and installation side but don't believe the "Premium" service promises. read more

We started our Sunrun experience 10 months ago. We do not recommend this company. We failed our city inspection 4 times but were not told why. We have failed to be signed off with PG&E twice so far. So we are leasing the solar panels, they are on the roof but no benefit from them so far. Our salesman did not that sales also includes customer service. He is an excellent sales person, except when you buy a expensive car make sure it has a motor in it, or in this case a solar roof. Calling the Sunrun company to get answers or help is a very non-productive and I" we do not do customer service" so buzz off attitude. read more

Warranty issues: Sun Run has accepted responsibility for faulty solar system installation leading to some roof rot issues after about 5 years of the system being installed on our roof. Buyer beware, if you have a similar warranty claim, they may accept responsibility as they have done for us however, if they cant get a vendor to come out to address the issues, then the warranty value is really not of much value. read more

My experience with Sunrun has been pretty bad. We bought a solar panel system for our home from them outright. The system worked okay for a while, but then the inverter gradually failed. I realized last summer (July 2023) that there was a problem when I noticed on the system monitor that electricity production had crashed. Unfortunately, Sunrun was very slow to acknowledge that there was a problem and then very slow to fix it. Long story short, the summer went by and it was October before they finally fixed the problem (replaced the inverter). A few days ago, my True-up bill arrived from PG&E. (For those who don't know, this is where the balance between the electricity you buy from PG&E and what you sell from your panels is reconciled.) The bill is over $1000. (Two years ago it was $200.) This is what Sunrun has cost me. I have been in touch with them about this, of course, but they have been so far unwilling to do anything about it. They've issued case numbers a couple of times, and they always say someone will get back to me, but they don't. And so Sunrun has yet another angry customer. My advice would be find a company that looks after its customers better. read more

I should check yelp review before I engage with Sunrun. There are a lot of 1 star rating. There must be good reasons Here are my own experiences: 1) I have to say that some departments of Sunrun company works very efficiently, such as sales, survey, installation, inspection, accounting, etc. 2) I signed the contract within one day on 1/4/2023. 3) The site survey, installation, inspection all were done very quickly. The solar system was installed and inspected on 2/6/2023. 4) I paid the full amount due on 2/6/2023. I would give a 4-5 star review at this point 5) Unfortunately, what happened afterward was a "frustrating and endless" wait just to turn on the system. 6) First, I received an email from PG&E on 2/8/2023, indicating they have received the NEM application. 7) After repeated inquires and one month later, Sunrun CSS informed me that the inspection review was delayed and the report was finally submitted to PG&E on 3/8/2023. CSS informed me that the system will be turned on after PG&E issues Permit To Operate letter (PTO). PG&E will take 2-3 weeks to issue the letter. 8) On 3/29/2023, I received PTO from PG&E, indicating that I can turn on the system as of 3/29/2023. Unfortunately, I cannot turn on the system because it needs to be activated remotely by Sunrun. I forwarded the letter to CSS 9) After several phone calls and emails, I still do not know on when the system will be turned on. 10) The overall experience dealing with the Sunrun was very disappointing after system was installed. Email, phone call or text typically took a few days to get a response. Very little communications about what is going on nor any commitment on a target date. The backend operation seems too be very chaotic and slow. It appears that once Sunrun collected your money, they are not in a hurry to let you turn on your system and enjoy the benefit of the solar system. 11) One advice for others considering to go with Sunrun. When negotiating the contract, do not agree to pay the full amount due after the installation is completed. You should pay the final amount only until the system is fully operational. Hopefully. this will provide a sense of urgency for the Company to help customer to receive the "product" they pay for in a timely manner. read more

Terrible contract - don't do this!! We got SunRun 10 years ago and regret it. No physical problems, but it's clear now that we will NEVER break even. Their sales pitch is pure BS. They're unwilling to renegotiate a contract (assuming they can find it), and their buy-out provisions are so egregious, you can't get out. Not even for more/better solar. And don't get me started on billing issues or (supposed) customer service. This was the worst decision we've made for our home. We're actually considering taking a $10k hit just to get rid of them. If you want solar, do not sign a contract with SunRun, it's a bad deal. read more

I've had very negative experiences with Sunrun (through Costco). In 2016 I installed 28 panels (yes, based on their recommendation). System still underperforming and I am getting annual $2000+ True Up bills from the utility company which is crazy. Even with significantly reducing our consumption habits I've complained for years that something is not right, only for Sunrun to tell me "Everything seems to be fine" over the phone. After many calls to Sunrun, finally a tech discovered that a faulty meter was installed initially. 2 months later a second tech randomly showed up and said the replaced meter was bad too. A third just last week admitted that there is "something wrong" with the system and also stated there are "design issues" including improper placement of the panels. I explained that for $30,000 I expect that this should buy quality materials but also professional design expertise. I am awaiting calls from people "higher up" in the company right now. Not only do they need to fix the system, but something needs to be done about my system not meeting contractual power production since 2016. I'm considering other legal actions if they don't do the right thing and make this right. For now, I am going through the proper channels and allowing them time. For me, it's STAY AWAY FROM SUNRUN! I have also filed a complaint with Costco, who referred me to them! read more

Do not use Sunrun for your solar needs. We have had the absolute worst experience with them. We bought our system outright in December 2018 and feel we were duped. The salesman we dealt with is no longer with the company. We were told Sunrun had excellent service, they monitor your system to make sure its always producing and if there is a problem they contact you immediately and send someone out, all warranty is handled through them not the manufacturer and on and on. Back on July 26 we were looking at our Sunrun app for production and noticed that there was no data for the last few days so we called Sunrun and was told that we were not producing and our system was down. Sunrun told us they would call us to let us know when a technician would come out. We waited 2-3 days and nothing so we called them again and was told that they didn't have a technician in our area and would let us know when someone could get out. 3 weeks later a technician came out said the inverter was bad and needed to be replaced, the solar was barely up and running for 6 months. We were informed that they do not stock inverters and since this was a third party part it is a warranty issue and they would need to reach out to the manufacturer for them to approve and then send them a replacement part. We have been calling Sunrun every 2-3 days to see what the status is and on Sept 12 we were told they just got the inverter and scheduled it to be installed on Sept 18th. Sunrun came out on the 18th and guess what it's not the right inverter, so here we are 2 months no solar, electric bills of almost $1000 per month. No compensation being offered said they have to wait until our "true up" anniversary and if the system did not perform what they calculated it at will get reimbursed 5 cents per kw. Check your electric bill we don't get charged 5 cents per kw so any reimbursement at our true up will be a joke. Horrible customer service on every level. Do your research people and use any other company than Sunrun. Yes we did research and talked to several other solar companies but felt confident that Sunrun was the leader in solar and would never let us be down for an extended period of time, all lies and a bunch of crap! read more

I broke down the process into sections for the reader to get a better understanding of what I had experienced. This how I experienced it, to the best of my recollection. (Sales): the salesman that helped us was on point. He knew that he doing in terms of the product, and had enough knowledge to get the an efficient system for my house. He was available when I called for questions and inquiries. He was courteous and willing to help. I give Sun Run an A for this portion of the process. (Engineering design): they were somewhat accomodating in sense that they would allow certain layout considerations, such as where the route of the electrical cables (conduits) came down from the panels to the electrical box. Just be on a watch over them, because they will take any convenient route from the panels down to the electrical box, and it can result in an ugly electrical pipe going down the side of your house. Direct them to run along discreet paths during your installation. I give them a B- (Installation): They said that they could install it in a matter of hours (done in 1 day) but they took a couple of days. Thanks ok if it's a small solar system, such as mine, but oh well. The bad part of the delay is because they use a wrong part which is scary to me. I lost confidence at this juncture of the process. It's a display of incompetence. It's a soldier going to war with a knife rather than a rifle as he should. Sorry Sun Run, no excuse there. Also I didn't like the fact I had to take an additional day off for the delay. I live in an area where I share an easement with neighbors which requires supervision. I give them a C- (Follow up support): it seems they hire people with no experience to follow up to see how things are going during the process and how the product is functioning for us. The weakness is that they seem to be given a cookie cutter response (without knowing the depth of it) and so when you ask a question outside of their script, or a more deeper question, they buckle. They try look like they know the answer but don't really know beyond their script. This is not the representative fault. It is a training issue and is the responsibility of management. I give them a solid D (Bad experience with an employee): I corresponded with an employee there to try to resolve the inconsistency with their usage meters displayed on their phone App, vs the their meters on their computer systems when they quote my usage. They are always different even after the total for the month. As far as one system is concerned, the usage was below what they said they would deliver. This is a legitimate claim to which they can't come up with a satisfactory answer.. Anyways, as I dispute their inconsistentcy, their employees are very defensive and would swing the fault of the matter to me. They don't know a thing about listening, and responding in a professional matter. They become defensive to their individual viewpoint. The managers will side their employees because they themselves lack the public relations skills for more intricate matters. Sorry Sun Run, no excuse for that. The managers have given up, and layer never responded back after saying that they will. Since I'm in the service business, customer service and customer relations important to me. Here, I can't even give them a F. To me as an instructor, I would give them an "Incomplete" (Conclusion): they can deliver a functioning product, but the employers and even managers lack good customer relations. This is important when you have issues. They can't deliver a reasonable response or solution. I hope this degrade in their service does not result in them folding because I don't want to be stuck with a company they throw their problems away to. If they were able to work with me on a legitimate question to my concern rather than "sweeping me" under the carpet, then their review would be better. Ending this review, they will give you a "somewhat" ok solar panel system, but the usage claims, customer support, and management excallation experience is not good, hence I give them 2 stars max. read more

If I could give more stars, I would. Every aspect and detail of our solar installation project was smooth and efficient. Our sales person was Valerian Matthews and he was professional, knowledgeable and reliable. The site survey was Performed with a drone by Michael, he was careful of our home and protected our wood floor when he set a ladder in the master closet to access the attic. He wore a mask and social distanced for our protection. Next came the installation team. We were AMAZED! Safety protocols were the best we've ever seen, the cleanup was perfect! The Foreman came at the end and completed the interconnect, he was helpful and informative. Then John Vidosh came on the day of the Inspection to meet with the local building inspector. The building inspector gave rave reviews about the work, and the company in general. Throughout the process to connect with PG&E, Aaron Apmann was our project coordinator, and once again, just a pleasure to interact with and very thorough, professional and efficient. Overall, this was the best construction experience We've ever had. SunRun ran like a very large well oiled machine and I highly recommend them. We are thrilled with our new solar system and very happy we chose them. read more

Sunrun Solar - Solar Installation Near Me - Dublin, California

The short version: Everything that all the previous bad reviews say is true. If there are any other companies you could use, definitely stay away from Sunrun. And if they're your only option, then maybe you can consider just waiting for something else. Some of the biggest promises they make as important selling points quickly turn out to be untrue. Notably, the whole "best service after installation" is an absolute lie. And unfortunately you're going to need it very soon given huge flaws that apparently exist in their work. They have great sales pitches, anything after it we had a terrible experience, with the exception of their engineers who were nice people and at times, I felt they were quite frustrated by their organizational issues too. They also don't use the best reviewed solar panels. OK now the long version. This is ongoing and I waited 4 months to write this thinking after that long there's a resolution one way or another. Before and during installation: The sales pitch was all just amazing. "We might be a bit more expensive than others, but you'll be paying for the best service and especially, for our premium warranty. At any moment you have any issues we'll be there for you, something a lot of these smaller companies can't deliver". When we called for actual help though, them being the "largest" and "having multiple departments" and that "you cannot imagine how busy we are!" was often cited as why they cannot give you what you need. So we get into contract with them (and I'm leaving out some passive aggressive behavior by the salesperson because we were asking some questions. The super short version is, me: "can I get a breakdown of the total cost?" him: "this info sits in some back-end system and I cannot get anyone to show it to you. Let's just move on so you don't waste my time and I don't yours"). Everything from here on was a mess. We had a really hard time communicating with them. At their leisure they'd schedule things and would ignore any follow-up questions. The installation engineers were nice guys, but it was clear they weren't on the same page with other teams. I had to keep trying to keep different teams on the same page (and you could imagine how effective that turned out), reminding them "your colleagues said they'd do X and we'd have to do Y", they'd be like "oh we weren't told that, we don't have such and such material, let me call; oh I just called and you're right, but we have to come back another day for that". They'd come back some other day and the new guy would be like "well this other thing has to happen, not what you're told". In the end there are some permitting that has to happen by the city and the power company, and how much of a mess their processing is is simply demonstrated by the fact that 2 weeks after we saw on the Tesla app that the system had been up and running, some agent calls from Sunrun to let us know that the system is up and running! After installation: We got some rain just a month or so after installation. We woke up early in the morning to water dripping from our ceiling. We hadn't had issues before, and it was right below the panels. It was a Sunday, so no one answered their phone. Live chat was off too. So much for their premium warranty. Sent an email with little hope. The next day, we called them first thing in the morning. After the usual holds and all, we get to someone who interestingly just emails us a link where we'd have to report damage. You'd "think" such a link should be available in your account, right? Moving on. We submit a report. The next morning, we just received an appointment, which they scheduled unilaterally without even asking for our availability. We're not home at that time. OK, now again we got on the phone. After hours and talking to 2 people (the first never followed up), we managed to reschedule. But how the conversation happened is the best part. The guy said we just happened to have this one appointment, but otherwise you'd have to wait for a very long time. He said "we're a big company, you don't realize how busy all of our departments are"! As if they're doing us a huge favor. I said "a leaking roof is an urgent thing, and we have paid for the premium warranty. I don't think waiting for a month is an appropriate response to a leaky roof, and certainly doesn't match the huge sales pitch we got during the sales process." He told me "I understand, but well sir I think you're being... ummm... I cannot find the word I'm looking for." Great! I guess thanks for holding out on whatever insulting thing you were about to say to me. This was already 3 months ago, and I'm getting back to writing more now. For a second time, once again, a clearly exhausted and frustrated but nice and competent engineer comes by. He essentially told us that the panels had been installed in a bad way, and they need a reinstall. One more month goes by, and no one has contacted us. I'll try to update this, but we can guess the outcome. read more

The installation of the panels happened immediately and the solar worked for 3 months. After that they wrote me off. No response to emails or phone calls. Sunrun told us that the subcontractor, the Electrician company they hired to fix my electrical panel in Valley Springs, CA said they ordered a part for the electrical panel, they came out 3 times and it was not fixed, one story after another and come to find out the final part which was an total replacement of an Inverter was never ordered. It has since been 8 months. The Inverter was finally replaced yesterday although there is no production on my phone. I call the helpline and they said that the electrician said there is a new serial number connected to the inverter which needs to be replaced on the computer system for production to show up. So who would have communicated that? It would never has been communicated to anyone. Obviously, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing in this operation. Their solution department that resolves these types of issues has no clue what is going on. Electrical Connections seem to be a problem throughout the industry. Homes that have old electrical boxes do not connect to their systems. read more

Sunrun has now missed 9 service appointments in 2021. They don't communicate, they just don't show up. When your contact them about the miss, they don't apologize (or really even acknowledge that they missed the appointment). They do tell you they will contact you about rescheduling, but you need to chase them down multiple times to make the new appointment. The latest missed appointment (again that's 9 missed appointments in 6 months) was Tue. It's now Fri and I'm still trying to get them to schedule a new service call. The service call is to address a faulty panel that was diagnosed in November 2020 and now that we're in prime solar generating season (June 2021), I'm down a panel. This company is almost comically bad at customer service to the point I question if they are even still in business (except in name)--avoid this provider if at all possible. read more

I am so dissatisfied with customer service. I really believe that they need more training in handling customers. No empathy, not even apologetic with what a customer is going through after venting out my frustration. I don't usually give reviews but I am hoping that by writing this I would get my point across. All I need is somebody from the upper management who can call me and help me since I am not satisfied with how customer service is handling the bird problem that's nesting in my solar. Nobody has gotten back to me and I have to leave a voice mail for follow up and have to call again since I haven't heard anything from them. It's so sad that Sunrun is tying up with Costco because they definitely fail in the customer service department. I used to refer my co workers with Sunrun for solar but I don't think I can do that again. One should think twice in signing up with Sunrun because once your Solar is up and running and you have issues, they are so poor with customer service. Again they should train their customer service in doing service recovery. Just a a suggestion. read more
