They are absolutely bad and over charge .. first quoted $89 to visit on the phone to fix my AC problem. After coming the tech guy diagnosed that the capacitor needs to be changed. He quoted $290 to diagnose the issue Charged me a total of $715 for replacement of the capacitor and he was trying to sell me a service contract. I later found out that General market price to replace a capacitor is $450. This is fraud to over charge so much. I will never recommend this service. read more

I arranged for a technician to come and give me an estimate for some work, which costs $89. The technician was polite, thorough and informative and have no issue with him. However, the quote he prepared was so expensive it was insulting. I'm not a pro electrician but at the same time, I know roughly what's involved, sometimes exactly depending on the task, so I'm usually able to see what's fair and what's a rip off. I felt I was being ripped off here with the quote I was given. It then turned into "oh maybe I can speak with my manager and see what discounts we can apply" charade, and then it felt like I was in a car dealership all of a sudden. Another thing is that after I complained both to the technician and via the company's website, I heard nothing since. I would like my $89 back. Be wary about using this company! Hats off to these guys! I called with a last minute wall heater issue in my living room that had me perplexed. Replaced the thermostat, set up EXACTLY the same as the wall heater (COZY- same brand & model) & thermostat (HONEYWELL- same brand & model) in the hallway (which works perfectly). But the living room heater would only come on sometimes, sometimes not at all, & the pilot light would even go out from time to time. Weird. Couldn't figure out what else to do, so I reached out to PAC Coast (among others) via Yelp. They hit me back almost immediately, beating the competition in terms of speed, right off the bat. They offered me a same day appointment (almost unheard of, especially during the pandemic), & were the cheapest BY FAR in terms of the cost of a service assessment & initial visit (only $89, which is also applied towards any additional labor, but not parts, to repair the heater...many other spots were nearly double that price) 2 hours later the techs came: Adrian (great name, heh) and Austin. They were courteous & professional, had their masks on of course, & even put on medical booties to walk about inside our house. I explained the sitch to them & they got to work immediately. They were great about telling me what was going on every step of the way, & why. Turned out to be a sooty thermocoupler & a loose wire feed, which they fixed in about 10 minutes. They included their work in the $89 service fee charge & left us with a functional heater & thermostat, lickety-split. Fast, knowledgeable, courteous, cost-effective & available...what more can you ask for? I'll definitely be using them for any future work, & sending friends & family to them as well. Yay warmth! Hit or miss! I had Michael out last week, and he was great....expensive (~$500 for half a days work), but figured out a solution. Unfortunately, he left the company....and I think I know why. Had Juan out several times to install 2 outlets behind wall mounted TVs, run power to a fence on the side of the house, pull network cables for exterior cameras, and install 4 LED garage lights I provided. Overall very happy with the work and will use them for anything else in the future. Yes, they're expensive, but you get what you paid for. They had to make several visits to finish the garage lights due to unforeseen issues and missing materials, but they got it done eventually and I couldn't be happier. read more

We contacted Pacific Coast after having a horrible experience with a different electricity/HVAC company that was dispatched through our home warranty company and it was clear they weren't going to provide a good service, most likely because it was routed through the home warranty, but regardless, it was clear they were not quality. (Didn't fix our furnace. Didn't provide updates on parts needed. Complained about the current state of our system etc.. Only received a call from our home warranty company 2 days after their visit to inform us they will replace our furnace for $1000 out of pocket).. Keep in mind, It's early February with temperatures below freezing at night, so we needed to go out and buy space heaters. That blew a fuse... not great when you have a 2 year old and newborn. Called Pacific Coast the next morning who sent an electrician out (Andrew) within 1 hour of that call. Andrew was amazing. Professional, fixed our electrical issue and mentioned that Pacific Coast had an HVAC division. He didn't pressure me to call, but said that if we want another opinion on our Furnace they'd be happy to come out to do a free assessment. We decided that Pacific Coast felt "right" and I called, and it was the best decision we've made since moving into our house in August. Nasser Pineda was absolutely top notch In helping us diagnose and fix our Broken furnace and 30+ year old AC unit. He walked us through options, provided fantastic discounts and made it clear that the customer and service comes first at Pacific Coast. We liked Pacific Cost so much that we opted to go with them over the cheaper vendor through the home warranty company. We feel like the quality of furnace/AC (Which Nasser upgraded for free) and small items he "threw in" to his quote (thermostats, running wires, new vents etc) was just so "extra" and appreciated. We couldn't be more happy with the service, especially now that our HVAC system is brand new and running great! Lastly, outside of the technicians it's clear that Pacific Coast cares about their employees, setting them up for success and not succumbing to the "salesy" approach used by so many other vendors in the space. I was kept in the loop on my appointments via phone, text & email by Pacific Coasts dispatchers who provided pictures of our technicians and were available 24/7. All in all, Pacific Coast was great, and it should also be known I don't write a lot of these reviews, as it needs to be a compelling case for me to take the time to write one. Get an email from another manager saying they won't do a thing It doesn't even matter what the dispute was: If you're a company that stands by your employees you should honor what your managers tell your customers. The PCE weekend shift was certainly electric. I decided to get a little crafty this weekend, and prepare for a custom closet install. Something was funky with the "after market" electrical setup the previous owner configured, that combined with my rudimentary understanding of a typical homes wiring scheme, I caught myself in a pickle. Now, if I'm being honest the error was stupid enough that I'm not going to admit it (and frankly it's not the forum to admit my faults), so I'm blaming it on the house, or something. The admin that answered that call was quick, I'm really sorry I can't recall her name. She was friendly and open about the pricing and my options. If I didn't get this fixed, it didn't mean the end of the world... but F-it, last I hear we're pretty much doomed as a planet anyway, might as well have internet until it doesn't exist anymore. Before the tech came through, the admin sent over a text with his pic and a quick intro. I must admit, I really appreciate this, it added a sense of safety to the process. The dude that stopped by was friendly, didn't jab me too bad for my human error, but it was such a quick fix, that he offered a quick hand to wrap up what I was working on, adding some small lessons along the way. Pacific coast home electric is a reliable and very attentive business. We used them for several projects at our home. Our panel was replaced to upgrade to a 200 A panel. We also had them install a transfer switch for a generator. Always nice to have if the power goes out. Finally we had them install a split system. It does both heating and cooling for individual rooms.They are attentive and easy to work with. We highly recommend them. read more

My experience with this company was lackluster. The $89 callout fee is laughable once you realize that the pricesheet to actually do any work above and beyond the $89 is so out-of-whack. It felt like the classic inertia-based sale -- get a technician out, make the prices just high enough where it's annoying to send them away (which means you lose your $89). Fortunately I only paid $89 and wasted my time. I normally don't write reviews, but I want to save other people the hassle here. Of the electricians I had take a look at my issue, this was the only callout fee I paid, so there are options that allow you actually make a decision without starting out in the hole. The technician himself was polite and professional. I could tell he has to defend the non-competitive company pricing practices on the frontlines before. If there was a zero star I'd have given that for rating. Technician shows up, looks and sniffs around. After he is done sniffing around there is some blah blah & then some more blah blah about how this company is the best and pricey but pricey for a reason. Anyway, I agree to shell out more than $340 for his 2 hour "investigation" and he agrees to waive $89 service charge. I then sign some paperwork on his handheld device. After he is done with his "investigation" I am provided quotes for work to be done; which are way over priced. Just watching him contort himself into sweaty pretzel in order to justify pricing which even he knows is way over the moon was the best part. Listen to this, $1800 for adding 1 new circuit breaker, $3000 for adding two new circuit breakers and bunch of other BS quotes. One quote was as much as what a used car for costs, what ?, some horse crap. I bloody want one or two more circuit breakers added. That is all. Icing on the cake; one week later I get a email billing me for $89 service charge which their technician agreed to waive before I signed paper work in my kitchen. I don't quite frankly get what are they highly rated for. Their quotes are literally 100-135% marked up as compared to other electricians, then they scam you by going back on their own word. Stay away from them and skip past them. I made a mistake but at least you won't. read more

Summary: do not "request a quote" from them, they charge $89 to give you an estimate. I had an issue with a group of outlets, and sent a request for quote using Yelp's "request a quote" feature. Looking at Pacific Coast Electric, Heating & Air 100% response rate, I sent them a request too. Unfortunately this "100% response rate" is misleading. Indeed, I received a response, but it was not quote. It was a boiler-plate two sentence response: "I can definitely help you. Could you take please provide your number so I can assist you further?" - even though I already provided enough details in my request, and indeed received quotes from other businesses based on it. Upon providing a number I received a call where I had to reiterate the same details, and only learned that they charge $89 or so for a technician to come in and issue an estimate. Which I politely declined. In my opinion, if a business participates in "request a quote" feature, the business should be able to provide a quote. Pacific Coast Electric, Heating & Air is using this feature misleadingly, and this is why they got one star rating. To address Tricia's comment: I understand that your believe it is unfair to customers to give a quote without having an appointment. However, as a customer, I prefer to get the quote online. If you are unwilling to provide the quotes online, you should not participate in "request a quote" feature. read more

I won't use anyone else!! I had an emergency situation at 8:00 p.m, on last Saturday night. I called them, and explained that my major appliances had stopped working--without tripping any breakers. They immediately came out, and showed me exactly what the problem was. My electrical panel had failed, and it was a fire hazard. They worked with me to optimize safely, some electricity. We needed city permits, which we couldn't get until Monday. They sent over the contract, secured the permits early Monday, and stayed to replace the entire electrical panel. Everything is working, and my home is safe!. They even called to check in with me before my party on Sunday! The employees across the board, were conscientious, highly trained, and very professional. I had a difficult electrical problem to trouble shoot (fix an outlet which had no power and re-wire two switches to eliminate an always-hot ceiling light box). The electrician from Pacific Coast Electric, Heating & Air, Michael, worked long and hard before he finally got my existing wiring figure out, cleaned up and the necessary changes made. The wiring in my old house had been modified over the years by numerous unqualified contractors. The result was a mish-mash of splices without junction boxes, cross-connections and the like. I was extremely happy once the job was completed. Now I can proceed with the next steps in my house renovation project. I definitely recommend Pacific Coast Electricians. My kitchen renovation needed additional power plugs, and light fixtures installed. I was fine with getting something similar to what I had already, but they went the extra mile to get the exact set of parts that matched, even though they are non-standard. The work required multiple visits, and each electrician was prompt, competent, and very friendly. It was also helpful that they text you ahead of time to tell you when the electrician is on the way. The last set of electricians, Reggie and Carlos, even helped clean up some of the mess left over by my other kitchen contractors. Bait and Switch. Beware, the first electrician that came out to my home was super helpful and really seemed to know his stuff. Unfortunately I never saw or spoke to him after the first day. I was told the job would take two days and it ended up taking 4. This wouldn't have been a huge problem except they tore holes in my walls without telling me and then wanted to charge an additional $600 dollars to fix it. This is after I spent 6,000 dollars on recessed lighting for three rooms. I would not recommend these folks under any circumstance. read more

I had three quotes and Pacific Coast was not the least expensive, but after Eric explained each item to me and why it was needed the price made since.
