We have been using Service Champions annual maintenance program for several years. They check both heating and air. Today's visit was thorough, informative, and forward-thinking as our units are 23 years old. Fortunately everything is running just fine but I think it is because their techs do a full performance review annually. In the past, as we have needed to replace parts they have caught the problem before it became an emergency. What a professional, polite and friendly crew they have working for them too. Please be wary about completing any payments with this company before final inspections are done! We made this fatal mistake and failed city inspections, and now it's basically impossible to reach the correct department to own up to their mistakes. This is a big red flag for any licensed contracting company, so I would recommend to think twice before hiring them. We had Service Champions install an AC unit, and the failed inspections report with the corrections has been released for about a month now. I contacted Service Champions by phone twice (spaced two weeks apart, so plenty of time), and also sent a few emails (spaced 1.5 weeks apart)- each time the service representative said that they would forward my message to the "correct department". We still have not heard back after a month, and no one has reached out to schedule anything to complete the corrections (or given any update), and I can't seem to get ahold of the "correct department". What's worse is that during the work, the city inspector found that one of the mistakes Service Champions did was shorting some circuits which completely burned one of our bus bars. This is a brand new electrical panel, and the city inspector mentioned that this is a safety hazard and that a licensed electrician needs to inspect for risks to the rest of the panel now. Of course I mentioned this to Service Champions, and still no movement from them despite letting them know about this safety hazard that the city inspector said usually requires immediate action. Overall, we are pretty disappointed by Service Champions for the quality of work as well as their response time for corrective actions on the failed inspection. I am losing hope of them completing the work at all, esp after we already paid them. I started doing research into filing a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board to hopefully have them do something about these issues. read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would! I even filed a complaint with the BBB. This company try's to scam you! I hired Service Champions on 8/8/25 to do a yearly maintenance service on my 5 year old HVAC system. They had a deal for $68. When their technician was finished he told my husband that we had significant ductwork problems and needed the entire ductwork of the home replaced. He also said that we had significant rusting on the evaporator coils due to faulty ductwork. He immediately scheduled a second appointment for an estimate without approval from me or my husband. I have paperwork to prove it. Once I got noticed of the second appointment I called to ask what it was about. The office lady told me for an estimate. I canceled the appointment because our HVAC is still under warranty from the company that installed it and I wanted them to check it first, because I know replacing all the ductwork is thousands and thousands of dollars. I did ask Service champions to have their tech call me and he did. The technician is Jesse Gale! He explained his alleged findings. The company that installed our system came out today 8/15/25 and found that there was a 12" slice made in our ductwork. That was not in any of the pictures Service champions sent me. The tech today said that it was a man made cut and not a natural rip as the edges were too clean. I believe Jesse from service champions intentionally cut our ductwork so that the estimate person would see it and claim that we need it repaired. If this doesn't scream scam, I don't know what is!!! The other tech also said today that he did not do any maintenance on the air conditioner that's outside because it was still dirty and should have been a part of a preventative service is rinsing the outside unit. I have photos to prove all of this. I believe that service champions were trying to get a sale from us by damaging our ductwork since we have a new system and they knew that they could not get any money out of us unless they damaged it themselves. I already filed a claim with the BBB requesting a refund of not only my $68 but the $125 it cost me to repair the cut as man made damage isn't covered under warranty!!! I am a Service Champion member for approximately 12-13 years. I am satisfied with their job, since my systems (heating an AC) is working. My AC is old because my home is cold even without AC regardless how hot it is outside, it is 25 years old. It probably needs coolant. The motor and fan is working, but, the air that comes out is just so-so cool. Ricky Williams wanted to sell me a new AC, but that expense, will have to wait to my beneficiaries. I will get an essential repair done for the heater this year because while both the units are approaching 20 years, the A/C unit that came with my new build upon purchase is a very cheap model and isn't worth investing in, only replacing it when I must. They came promptly in December and gave me a good estimate to fix a faulty light switch in the kitchen. There was a little bit of a mix up a couple of weeks after the estimate was done between the message center that schedules the work and the actual electricians that were to do the work. This caused a slight delay and a missed appointment, but they did eventually straighten everything out. Make sure the electrician verifies the appointment with the company. They apologized for the mix up and gave me a discounted price. They came and did excellent work to fix my electrical problem. I really appreciated their dedication to finish the job and do it right. I had some issues with my thermostat which was resetting randomly. Called at 11am to make an appointment and Aman was here by 2:30pm on the same day! He walked me through the worst case scenario (replace thermostat, which is not cheap if out of warranty), then called a manager who advised him to check the safety valve. Sure enough, the pipe was clogged and simply needed to be drained with a shop-vac. Issue resolved within 30 minutes! Aman, like all other technicians from Service Champions who have worked on my home over the years, was very professional and courteous. And what I appreciated most was that Aman didn't try to guess and misdiagnose the problem that could have potentially cost me hundreds or more. He was humble enough to call a manager for a 2nd opinion and it turned out to be a simple fix. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Service Champions to any of my family and friends! read more

I have a 2 year old Bryant 3.5 ton HVAC in my house in Fremont. I called Service Champions for the heater and central A/C yearly cleaning/check up service. Using their MVP+ service plan. They sent tech. Jeremy N. to my house for this service, Jeremy arrived on time. Was very polite and professional. He put on shoe guards To protect my carpet and floors. He thoroughly tested the heater inside the house and the vents. Safety tested the heater and cleaned the blower and tested other the components. All were in good working order. He said Bryant was a work horse brand build by Carrier and with the same high quality. This took about 1.5 hours. He also tested the Thermostat on the wall. Then Jeremy went out in the backyard to test the A/C unit. He checked amp draws, voltage, pressures, and components. All tested good. Jeremy then opened the top fan and power washed the coils to the outside unit to get the dirt from the coils of them and make the unit as efferent as brand new. He cleaned the drain pan of debris. Put the fan securely back in the top of the frame/coils. and re tested the system again. This also took about 1.5 hours to complete. Very friendly personality throughout the job. I am very happy with the cleaning/safety checks done today. I highly recommend Jeremy and Service Champions. The MVP+ plan is well worth the $215.00 year. It includes the above services and discount to parts and labor if needed. As a MVP member, you also get next day service in case of breakdown. Very handy in the middle of the summer. If I could give them a zero, I would. This is a late review from last year. We needed to get our heater checked. They came and looked around, made us pay the membership stating we can cancel later if we change our mind, brought in another person next day to look through again (not sure why) and started to sell us a package stating we should get a whole new furnace, an asbestos team and quoted close to $20k. They knew we were in a time crunch. But with our gut telling us they are bs-ing me (a woman), I got BA Morrison to come in. Plus another independent HVAC specialist. They both quoted me the same $275 to fix the issue. My husband and I cancelled our membership at Service Champions and told them our horror about their dishonesty. Then they made us pay for just coming in to evaluate the issue since we're cancelling the membership. NONE of the contractors did that when they checked our issue to give us an estimate. We decided that's on us for calling them and just considered that ridiculous fee as our lesson learned for the sake of our friends, family and community so they know not to go to Service Champions. read more

I wrote an earlier review but thought I'd do an update. I had my AC replaced prior this week. As you can imagine, it was pricey. When you spend so much, you expect top-notch service. My installation wasn't flawless which is why I'm writing this. My suggestion: make sure your thermostat behaves as it did prior to the install. I have a Nest, they're quite popular. After the install, I advised it wasn't acting normally both on the app and the on-the-wall device. It appeared they didn't have the skill set to resolve. I was told, a Service Technician should address it. Didn't want another appt after having installers here for 6 hours. Thankfully, the manager Aaron arranged for extra help that day. Service Technician Christian arrived a couple of hours later. He fixed everything!! The Nest not working was a symptom of an install issue. I won't get into details. Bottom line: Service Champions strives to do a good job. I'd suggest training for Nest and similar thermostats so installers can address issues immediately. Kudos to Christian! We have been using Service Champions for years for our furnace and AC for routine service. We upgraded our units a few years back with them as well. We use both our heater and AC on a temperature range so they run a lot. All technicians have been super professional and thorough but our recent technician, Ricky, was above and beyond all with his expertise. He offered to check on more than just our units, which was a nice surprise to our regular appointment. Will definitely be requesting Ricky for future appointments. Yes, we have had maybe one scheduling issue and maybe one follow up problem in the 10+ years we have had Service Champions, but overall they are professional, punctual, and do a great job keeping our units running smoothly. They provide a full report of each visit, provide recommendations, but aren't pushy to sell their recommended services. I would definitely recommend Service Champions to maintain your HVAC system. read more

I called Service Champions because our heater started making a funny noise. They came out quickly and assessed that it would be a 1k repair, but our HVAC is pretty old so failure was imminent and they recommended replacing it. They offered to send someone out to give us a quote and sold us their MVP monthly service program, and told us we could call and cancel any time. The salesperson came later that evening and really pushed the fear aspect- made me feel like our heaters were unsafe and we shouldn't be using them. It was a huge turnoff- Not only did he barely look under the house for what actually needed to get done, he really didn't want me to go get other quotes. Boy am I SO GLAD that I didn't cave to that pressure! Later in the week the heater's not working and I think maybe they were right, and this needs to happen immediately.,.. fortunately I had scheduled those other quotes- apparently Service Champions had turned off a switch to the gas and forgot to turn it back on. Spot Free HVAC assured me the sound was annoying, but not unsafe. We replaced the filters for $50 and it's quiet again and working just fine. AND his quote was 22k cheaper! We will be moving forward w/ the other proposal soon. Fast forward and I finally remember to cancel my MVP membership because I feel like fear-based selling is dishonest and lo and behold, I should have just paid upfront for the diagnostic- despite never using their actual service, I'm out 2months of the membership fee PLUS the price of the diagnostic. read more

It took 10 months for us to pass. They over sold us a unit, had to put sound dampening in our attic due to the unit being too big, the UV lights to keep it from freezing (according to the city) weren't necessary but if SC took them off they would be admiring they over sold. The sales guy only once contacted us and said he could buy us a gas dryer... we did the heat pump because we have solar. In the long run SC had to replace a large space heater, dishwasher, and the whole breaker box with a SPAN panel. We never had any problems with load balancing nor our power ruining appliances until we let SC near our home. Biggest mistake ever. Please do not use them. Yes, they finally got our house to pass inspection but they made a mess of our walls, 10 months of our lives with them literally in our place trying to fix their mess weekly. They are a mess and management and sales leaves the dirty work to their techs. read more
