If I could give this company zero stars I would! I even filed a complaint with the BBB. This company try's to scam you! I hired Service Champions on 8/8/25 to do a yearly maintenance service on my 5 year old HVAC system. They had a deal for $68. When their technician was finished he told my husband that we had significant ductwork problems and needed the entire ductwork of the home replaced. He also said that we had significant rusting on the evaporator coils due to faulty ductwork. He immediately scheduled a second appointment for an estimate without approval from me or my husband. I have paperwork to prove it. Once I got noticed of the second appointment I called to ask what it was about. The office lady told me for an estimate. I canceled the appointment because our HVAC is still under warranty from the company that installed it and I wanted them to check it first, because I know replacing all the ductwork is thousands and thousands of dollars. I did ask Service champions to have their tech call me and he did. The technician is Jesse Gale! He explained his alleged findings. The company that installed our system came out today 8/15/25 and found that there was a 12" slice made in our ductwork. That was not in any of the pictures Service champions sent me. The tech today said that it was a man made cut and not a natural rip as the edges were too clean. I believe Jesse from service champions intentionally cut our ductwork so that the estimate person would see it and claim that we need it repaired. If this doesn't scream scam, I don't know what is!!! The other tech also said today that he did not do any maintenance on the air conditioner that's outside because it was still dirty and should have been a part of a preventative service is rinsing the outside unit. I have photos to prove all of this. I believe that service champions were trying to get a sale from us by damaging our ductwork since we have a new system and they knew that they could not get any money out of us unless they damaged it themselves. I already filed a claim with the BBB requesting a refund of not only my $68 but the $125 it cost me to repair the cut as man made damage isn't covered under warranty!!! We recently replaced flooring with new hardwood floors. The entire process, including removing the old hardwood floors took almost two weeks. It was a dusty, dirty project. By the end of the job our home HVAC filters were filthy. Service Champions took care of cleaning and reinstalling all three filters. I feel so feel so much better about the air inside the house. When the tech got here my system was running and not doing its sporadic operation of not working so he said there's nothing he could do. He needs to see it doing what I explained that it was doing. Ac unit not running or cooling the house. This is impossible to show what is going on since it doesn't do it all the time. No trouble shooting was done. I was just told a number of things that could be wrong. He said to record what is happening and then call for an appointment. I forgot to mention this is a new unit that service champions installed 2 years ago. Oh I also forgot to say that a different tech was just here Tuesday (just 2days ago) for the same problem of ac unit not working and he did a complete cleaning of the unit. Then 2 days later it was not working again then next day it was working. There is definitely something wrong but they did not do anything to try and find out what it is. read more

Please be wary about completing any payments with this company before final inspections are done! We made this fatal mistake and failed city inspections, and now it's basically impossible to reach the correct department to own up to their mistakes. This is a big red flag for any licensed contracting company, so I would recommend to think twice before hiring them. We had Service Champions install an AC unit, and the failed inspections report with the corrections has been released for about a month now. I contacted Service Champions by phone twice (spaced two weeks apart, so plenty of time), and also sent a few emails (spaced 1.5 weeks apart)- each time the service representative said that they would forward my message to the "correct department". We still have not heard back after a month, and no one has reached out to schedule anything to complete the corrections (or given any update), and I can't seem to get ahold of the "correct department". What's worse is that during the work, the city inspector found that one of the mistakes Service Champions did was shorting some circuits which completely burned one of our bus bars. This is a brand new electrical panel, and the city inspector mentioned that this is a safety hazard and that a licensed electrician needs to inspect for risks to the rest of the panel now. Of course I mentioned this to Service Champions, and still no movement from them despite letting them know about this safety hazard that the city inspector said usually requires immediate action. Overall, we are pretty disappointed by Service Champions for the quality of work as well as their response time for corrective actions on the failed inspection. I am losing hope of them completing the work at all, esp after we already paid them. I started doing research into filing a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board to hopefully have them do something about these issues. read more

The company charges far too much for their services. A 1hr service call to clear a kitchen drain and remove a P-trap was $450 why out of line with what it consistent in the industry. We have had a long term service contract with Service Champions. We will be terminating our contract resulting from their excessive charges. I am a Service Champion member for approximately 12-13 years. I am satisfied with their job, since my systems (heating an AC) is working. My AC is old because my home is cold even without AC regardless how hot it is outside, it is 25 years old. It probably needs coolant.
