I open the door as i tell them im not interested they got mouthy and started talking vulgar. Great choice of reps sun run this is absolutely ridiculous. Maybe if you did quality work you wouldn't need to send door knockers at 730 at night. Judging by your yelp you guys are a fantastic company. My experience with Sunrun has been a nightmare from start to finish -- and it's still not over, nearly nine months later. After signing up and having the panels physically installed, I expected the project to move forward. Instead, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of delays, excuses, and mismanagement. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Multiple city inspections were failed due to basic, avoidable errors, and despite repeated outreach, I was met with little to no communication from the project manager, Amanda Gonzalez, or the broader Sunrun team.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The final blow came when Edison finally arrived to install the meter -- only to walk away because Sunrun used the wrong conduit. They used liquid conduit instead of the required rigid conduit, which any experienced installer should know is a basic code requirement. Because of this egregious mistake, The timeline to fix it and reschedule inspections could take another 3 to 6 months. That will make this project stretch into well over a year and a half -- and I've already started making loan payments for a system that still isn't active. This isn't just a frustrating customer experience -- it's gross negligence. The lack of quality control, project oversight, and accountability is unacceptable for any company, especially one claiming to be a leader in solar. Do yourself a favor: avoid Sunrun at all costs. Sunrun knows how to sell solar panels, but they fail in maintaining them. Someone from Sunrun comes to my house and starts trying to sell me on panels. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked if I was required to talk to them because of some existing contract because the lady makes it sound like I'm required to talk to her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So then she says "I'm sorry you can't be nice." Hahaha.. ridiculous. Sunrun's door to door salesman trying to act like he was partnered with Edison for a survey - told the rep to respect the"no soliciting" sign. Now Sunrun wants to charge 7k to remove and re install my solar And they are only giving a choice of one company! Sooo they can be part of that $7k! No one charges that much!! I've had the system for five years, and not once have they come out for maintenance. But they never informed me that someone from Bright Ops would be handling the repairs, so I thought the call was a scam.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I finally got in touch with Bright Ops and scheduled a service visit, they didn't show up. Instead, I received an automated message asking about the service on the day they were supposed to be here. I called to inform them that their technician never arrived, and they rescheduled me. Then, they called again today to say the technician for my appointment had called off, and they pushed my service date to November 8. Keep in mind, it's already been two months without a working system. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he was completely unhelpful and even hung up on me, saying there was nothing he could do.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is unacceptable customer service, especially since I'm locked into a nine-year contract with them. Sunrun is an unethical company that preys upon the elderly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A door to door salesperson visited my 82 and 89 year old parents three times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The third time, the salesperson came with an aggressive male who convinced my parents to sign a 25 year contract for solar panels they did not need. My mom understood that everything would be free and that her electricity bill would go down. Installation was free and her bill did go down, but my mom was blindsided when she started getting a $166 monthly bill that will continue for 25 years. She was paying $80-$100 month prior and the salesperson knew that. My mom would not have agreed to paying double for electricity if she had fully understood what she was signing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I filed a complaint to sunrun, they said they have a recording of my mom agreeing to the terms of the contract so there is nothing we can do.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] read more

Sunrun has become a terrible, terrible company and abusive business model. I signed the contract in spring 2023, system wasn't online until November 2023. Since then the system was either not functioning or underperforming for all but 4 months (currently end of August 2025). [[HIGHLIGHT]]In prior months, I had a dedicated service agent that I could contact and when necessary, they would suspend the Sunrun billing so I wouldn't get charged by both Sunrun and Edison (very expensive).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My agent is gone and the customer service model is changed to chat with random person, phone call with long wait, etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Chat person says they don't suspend billing anymore, that I signed a contract to pay them every month (of course, the same contract also said they'd provide electricity, but they have no problem ignoring that). In order to have Sunrun pay me back for the electricity they didn't provide (a no-interest loan), I have to apply for it. God knows how messy and long that will be.... But I can't even do that until they resolve the problem with my system, which they can't say how long it will take. (I was able to make an appointment to have service come out, like I have dozens of times before, but 9 times out of 10, they are unable to get the system running for more than a few hours, by which time they are gone, and I have to start all over again). So, if they keep my case in a perpetual state of "unresolved", it is possible that I may have to pay monthly for 30 years (contract length) and never get any solar. I laid this out in plain English, as here, to the customer service person, and they agreed. They could not guarantee me a time that they would sort the system it out and close the case by, so that I can then "apply" to get my money refunded for getting no solar production out of their system. This is a massive ripoff. The mafia couldn't come up with a slimier business scheme. read more

He was quick to respond and get us the info and assured us that we should be good to get panels. When I asked to resend the email so I can review why, he never did.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And my deposit hasn't been returned and the company can't do anything but have Kasen reach out to me about it after I've texted to ask when I should be expecting my deposit back and haven't heard back. My Solar has been out for a month and a half and I was unaware of it even being out until receiving a bill from Edison. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So far I'm very disappointed with how my Sunrun experience is going.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We recently purchased a house with Sunrun panels and I was put in touch with an Andres Olaya as my Service Transfer Coordinator. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After needing to speak with them about the transfer, there were no available times in the entire month of September for a Service Transfer Call.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I emailed Andres about this. Meanwhile, we close on said house. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't hear anything from Andres, so I again email them about the transfer. A few more days go by without hearing a word from anyone, so I decide to call Andres. It rings and rings, the sound of someone answering and then disconnected.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I call the main customer service line and they say it takes 3-4 business days after closing for the transfer to go through, so I wait a few more days. By now, it's a week after closing so I decide to email AND call Andres again. No answer on either.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Yesterday, over a week after closing I call the main customer service line again and explain what's going on, even asking if Andres even works for Sunrun! They say they were never informed that we closed on the house and it will now take 1-3 MORE business days for the transfer to go through.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And just minutes ago, I tried Andres again to see where the miscommunication was and lo and behold, no answer![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think Andres is on extended vacation.
