Best decision we could have made. I wanted to do the installation of our ground mount system myself so I could learn what a solar installation consists of and how they work. Go Green Solar was the way to go. They handled everything, and I mean everything except the physical installation of the system. All the paperwork, engineering, planning, shipping, communication with the power company, all the stuff that I had no interest in doing they completed for me. The only exception was getting the plans approved at the county, I had to do that myself, but was no problem, a few changes were required and GGS got it all fixed very quickly and I was on my way. If you want to DIY or have someone else install the system for you, GGS is the way to go, professional from the beginning to the end. They stay in constant contact and are on top of everything through the entire process. I got PTO (permission to operate) within one day from the power company and we are up and running. A ground mount installation costs more money, takes longer and is more difficult to install, so I appreciate the amazing support of GGS. I just recently bought a new home in the City of Orange that is perfect. One thing that we were not ready for was the electricity bill that accompanied our new larger home that includes a pool. I knew that I needed to look at going solar so I can keep my electricity bill down. I did a lot of research and asked a lot of friends about what solar company I should go with. I called a few different companies but in the end I felt the most comfortable with the people at Go Green Solar. I did not know that there so much involved in the process of getting solar but my rep did a great job of explaining everything to me and making sure all my questions were answered. The pricing was way more competitive than other companies I called. I also needed to finance the project and they did a great job of pairing me up with a finance company that fit my needs. I originally thought that the actual installation was going to take a long time but it only took a few days for the installation. The installers were extremely professional and discreet because I have a small baby at home. The only hiccups from this experience wasn't even from the company but the City of Orange. Their inspectors were not very helpful and seemed to hold up the process at every turn. So be aware that the inspection process will take some time but it is all worth it in the end. I used go green for a 12.8kwh array system late 2020. I was very disappointed in the process. The planning took months showing they do not have adequate experience. Additionally cost was about 50% more than expected. When I attempted to contact their CEO for assistance he never chose to respond by mail or email. I had a very good experience with Go Green Solar. The plan package, quality of the system, and the support they provided from the start till the end of the project was appreciated. With a bit of do-it-yourself can-do attitude along with support from Go Green, my project is up and running, performing even better than I thought it would. One note: keep in mind they communicate through email alone, there were times when I wish I could have talked to someone while I was working through some local utility issues, but all worked out in the end. Go Green will give you quality components, high quality plans, and most things you need to be successful, but you will need to do the work, and will need to "manage" the project for yourself. If you can do this, you can save yourself a lot of money and have a very solid PV system. In addition keep in mind working with local utilities and other AHJ's can be a very slow process. Well if your a local company you would know who covers what area's .. 2nd of all I wouldn't trust a company cold calling people after 8pm at night. I get some people have a job to do but have some respect for people and don't call after 8pm.. next time they call I'm going to screw with them. So I've been contacted by the company claiming they don't do cold calling and they leave their office at whatever time. I finally installed my Solar Panels on my roof with the assistance of Go Green Solar. My sales rep (Raj) was extremely helpful and got me setup with everything I needed. He even stuck with me for three years while I contemplated my options. The complete do-it-yourself package arrived on my driveway as planned and included everything I needed to complete my installation with the exception of wire and conduit. My installation went smooth as glass, thanks to the excellent plans drafted up by GGS, along with the installation instructions for the roof mounts. I was very pleased with the level of instructions provided and don't have any complaints. Once installed, the interconnect team quickly got things moving and had my solar panels approved for operation two days after I completed my building inspection. Update and response to the owner's post: 12/16/2020 Harold, You guys designed and set up the system. The production communications issue was with the cellular chip in the SMA inverter. Yes, SMA was having problems getting updates via cellular chip. They were NOT having problems with communications through Wifi. It took you guys over 2 month to make that change. Why would you guys even set up an inverter to send data through a 3g cellular chip when there is an option to use Wifi? Would you use smoke signals, the pony express, USPS or email to send a notice today. If the smoke signals aren't working anymore, don't try to fix the fire, choose a better option already available to you!!! So yes, SMA had issues, but as an experienced solar company with 10+ years in business, that's the best you got? 2 months to change to communications to wifi? Shouldn't it almost be default now to setup stuff via Wifi? Shouldn't you guys have at least asked me how I wanted it set up?? On top of that, again, I was the one reaching out to you guys every 3-5 days. You guys did not keep me in the loop. I got a response about every 7-10 days stating.... we are looking into it. That is pathetic. So again, SMA had issues with old technology and you guys took over 2 month to decide to change the means of communications to Wifi. Yes. 2 stars. And yes, go somewhere else to get solar installed. As I mentioned, previously, I asked to have more panels added to my system and was told it would cost 1.5x more per Kwh than the original system. No electrical panel upgrade. No inverter upgrade, just panels. Go figure, right? You would figure a company would want to hold on to it's current customers. You guys are operating like a used car lot, sell for as much as possible. Our current customer will trust us, stick with us and pay whatever. Shady. I had more panels added to my roof, micro inverters, not string inverters, from another company. Top to bottom - permits, planning and install. This company cold calls cell phones in the early morning and late evening. They use robocalls from fake phone numbers and shady sales tactics. They have called me 2x per day, every day, for going on 6 weeks now. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and the do not call registry, which I am on. "Alex" and "Jason" were the ones on the line when I tried to get them to take me off of their list, though those were probably fake names. Just completed a 5.2kw DIY ground mount system. Sales and support were great moving through the permitting and construction but we hit a glitch at the very end of the build. I noticed when Joy submitted our application to PGE that the inverter was the wrong model (an SE3800H instead of the SE5000H that was in the plans we submitted to the county). After emails back and forth, it was clear that I was out of luck getting the correct inverter from GoGreen. So, here's my review. Great service - great product - it works, just maxes out EVERY sunny day at 3.9kw instead of whatever my 5.2kw of panels might output. (I know it wouldn't be the full 5.2kw, but it would be more than 3.9kw.) So I received a 5.2kw system that will not output more than 3.9kw. I know inverters are regularly undersized BUT it wasn't in my proposal or the plans that I paid for from GoGreenSolar that were approved by the county. Our PTO from PGE states specifically that we are permitted only for the equipment listed in our application. So to be safe, we'll will have to pay for the correct inverter AGAIN to be in compliance with our PTO. I even got an email from the owner explaining that panels never output the stated wattage, and as my panels degrade, I won't be that undersized. My suggestion, if you choose this vendor, is to get the complete system itemized in your proposal. My system was listed at 5.2kw but the inverter was not itemized. My plans, however, had an SE5000H inverter. (All the 5kw systems I could find listed from their competitors use the SE5000). When we add storage to our system, we will use a different vendor. Raj was the first person I talked to when I first called the company to inquire about getting solar for my home. After answering a few questions about my home, energy usage and my goals, within 24hrs Raj emailed me with a very comprehensive solar project proposal that explained in detail every aspect of the proposed solar PV system. Just received permission to operate on a system I purchased. I am a software developer that most people would consider "pretty handy," but am in no way a professional in any sort of construction/building industry. I purchased the system with permit and interconnect options. I worked with a lot of people there to various degrees, but every time I had a question or concern, someone was available to answer quickly and if they didn't know the answer they were quick to say so and bring in someone that did. I couldn't ask for more. I learned a lot and could definitely install another system in a quarter of the time it took for this one, but it was worth it. I would definitely recommend them to anyone else considering solar. A little unrelated, so I won't go into detail, but I strongly recommend the SolarEdge system as well, especially for a DIY install. Their optimizers output a relatively safe 1V until they communicate with the inverter. So when installing 14 pannels in an array, you should get 14V DC. It made it very easy to troubleshoot the wiring and confirm all panels were wired correctly. The only two things that didn't go as perfect as possible that Go Green Solar had anything to do with it (keep in mind these aren't any where close to bad enough to lower a star): - The company that they contracted with for shipping was fairly terrible. They showed up at the house with one person, the driver, to deliver 26 panels, all racking hardware, and inverter. In a million years I would have never suspected that a shipping company wouldn't send enough staff to unload their own truck, so I left my wife at home to let them in the garage while I was at work. My wife had to help the driver move the boxes because he couldn't do it alone and didn't have a hand truck or lift or anything to help move them. The two of them had to scoot the boxes, over concrete. Go Green Solar, please talk to your shipping partner and ensure they send the appropriate personnel and equipment to move the shipment they have in their truck. Not really Go Green Solar's fault, and in the grand scheme of things, not that big of a deal; just something that could have went better. - The other thing was my fault for not reading the regulations from SDG&E close enough originally. Since Go Green Solar sent me a sticker packet, I assumed [incorrectly] that it included all signage necessary. After the city had passed inspection, while waiting for SDG&E to inspect, Joy asked me to e-mail a picture of the meter and site-map placard to fast-track the interconnect. I immediately realized I didn't have the placard. To Go Green Solar's credit, their team was pretty quick to escalate the issue within their company and they were able to get me a PDF of the placard that was required. I simply had to call around to a trophy shop around my house and find one that could make it. Problem solved. Again, not a big deal really, just a small item that would have made the process go slightly smoother if they had let me know it was necessary and they weren't sending it. Again, those two things were very small and everything else was perfect. I would definitely recommend Go Green Solar to anyone. read more

I bought a 3KW rooftop system from GoGreen Solar. Simon, did a great job walking me through the quote to make sure I knew what I was buying. He offered a lower cost option than the one I asked about initially, a string inverter, vice micro inverters, and explained the plusses and minuses of each. After I pretty much decided that I was going to use GoGreenSolar, I checked a couple of other websites to make sure I was getting a fair deal and found that Go Green was also the lowest overall price. I also bought their plan set service, since I was doing the install myself. Megan also provided exceptional service, providing the initial plan set within four days after I provided her the information she requested. There was a need for a revision to the plans and she had it complete within one day. I picked up the system at their warehouse and all of the material was well packaged and I felt confident that it was going to make the 100 mile trip on my trailer with no problem, which it did. Best price for a DYI installation, $10K-15K below local solar companies estimates (installed). Monthly utility bills dropped from $150-200 to $25.00 with some months even having a credit. We purchased a 6kW system and is plenty for our 2000 sq ft house, water well and 1800 sq ft auto/machine/welding shop. Taking advantage of the federal, local or state rebates reduces cost recovery time considerably. Installation is well within the capability of the average homeowner with average building skills and help is just a phone call or email away. No special tools or equipment should be needed. Response to calls and emails returned promptly. Local building dept had no issues with the well engineered plans. Staff very helpful with ironing out minor issues that arose during installation. Would suggest that user obtain a complete list of applicable codes, etc., from local building department and go over the engineered plans thoroughly before beginning installation. A complete list of additional user provided parts and supplies also included (wire, conduit, junction and disconnect box, etc.). If user is not electrically inclined a licensed electrician may be helpful in insuring installation is compliant with state and local codes before final inspection is requested. Utility company paperwork and authorization completed entirely by GoGreenSolar without any issues. Help with inverter and monitoring equipment programming provided. Overall very satisfied. read more

We are in Santa Barbara, CA and have completed a 3kW system (12 panels) with APsystems microinverters. Just received our approval to operate from SC Edison. Like others who have reviewed, I regard myself as reasonably handy - but only with conventional tools. I'm not an electrician, not competent to generate electrical drawings that will pass SB County plan check, and don't know all the steps for qualifying the system with our utility (SC Edison). For those reasons, we bought the package that included plans and the operation permit option. Very happy that we did that. It removed much of the unknown. Have to say - from start to finish (sales through final operation permit) and every step in between, working with everyone at GoGreenSolar was a delight. This is how a 21st Century company should operate. Absolutely everyone was immediately responsive. Questions were answered quickly and accurately (often on weekends). In particular, once I got underway with the installing the Iron Ridge racking, the panels, microinverters, and wiring - Dave Donaldson provided stellar technical support. I had TONS of questions - often several per day. He was back to me quickly with comprehensive answers that included drawings, links to products that would work for what I was doing, and creative ideas for managing issues particular to our install. We did almost all of this via email. It was extremely efficient. Also something that worked well for us was to send Dave images and PowerPoint drawings of our setup along with questions. Sometimes words don't do the job and since I didn't really know the language of solar tech as we started - pictures and drawings included with written questions did a good job of making sure the right question was actually getting asked. Dave would annotate the images with all sorts of details, or generate new ones and send those back. It kept me on track and the result was a nice clean installation that passed inspection on the first try. While our permit was filed as "owner / builder" we did use a licensed electrical contractor to tie the system into our main service panel. That required some modest re-wiring that was well beyond my pay grade. One further positive comment - often when you're dealing with a remote company and buying a complex product with lots of parts, not everything that's required gets to you in the first shipment. It's almost inevitable and when it occurs, some companies quibble or drag their feet about getting the additional components to you. GoGreen was the opposite. Anytime I identified some piece that was going to be needed, Meagan had it on its way to me via UPS the same day. This included a bunch of different tilt legs and rails that were used to come up with ideal tilt angle for our house. This company cold called me today and has been for several weeks . I finally answered today and was given the name of company by the employee. I politely asked him to stop calling me and take me off their list . I am registered on the do not call list and was not interested . I work nights and don't appreciate calls on a daily basis . I received a snarky response well don't inquire about solar then . #1 I did not inquire about your services . I was not expecting a call nor do I want to know anything about your company . #2 if I was remotely interested in the future your response just give me a reason to never seek out your services . Horrible sales tactics of cold calling and rude employees. I will be filing a complaint with the FTC. I would not use this company . Obviously by the looks of previous reviews they have a problem with this occurring and not taking ownership . read more

I will be brief to emphasize the satisfaction of dealing with Go Green Solar. They offered very positive, constructive and responsive service and their pricing was extremely competitive. As good as any vendor I know, actually better than almost any vendor I know. Great Job read more

Not the best experience...problems from start to finish. Every step of the way I have had one problem or another from design, county approval, shipment was wrong and install team didn't have all the parts they needed. I definitely would not use this company again. read more
