We completely stumbled on this bar as they had only been open for a few weeks…read more They had a fantastic staff that was very pleasant and quick to get our order in. They had an amazing cocktail menu so I ordered the "Kiwi do you live me" drink and it was delicious! We only had a short amount of time before our plans so we didn't get to try and good, but it all looked delicious! We will be coming back to try that food.

When we arrived the host? Not sure who he was just starts talking about the only seats at the bar. Didn't get a word in edgewise to say hey I have a reservation. We were the only folks sitting at the bar so ok. So back to where I was. 40 minutes later sitting directly at the bar trying to make eye contact and caught a server finally to take our order. Now 4 more folks came n sat at the bar. Somehow their food order got taken and before ours. My man is ticked and about to leave. Ordered a pearmosa which is a woodchuck cider not a mimosa to me. We got a waffle (cold), bacon, grits and the seafood grits. Most were cold. Butter just melted and that's after I heated it up next day. The flavor of the food was good. Just not proper temp, service sucked and the parking sucks. Limited street parking or pay to park lots. Im going to give them some time to grow before trying again. Two words for this black owned establishment. Do better

Like Fen said, good luck finding this place based on the address. The pleasantly declarative "You…read morehave arrived" from my car's nav system took place in front of what I took to be a hospital grounds. There's nothing close to the road; it's all back a few hundred meters on a windy driveway. What exists at this address is actually the University of Toledo medical center (right) and a Hilton hotel (left). The restaurant is inside the hotel. At first I thought that their slick, over-animated website had sold me a bill of goods. There was NOBODY else there. Restaurant pickings on Sunday night in Toledo are slim, so I thought that I had lucked out to find a legitimate, classy restaurant with top-notch food and a swanky vibe. Nope. It was handsome in that hotel-restaurant way, so there was no impediment to enjoying my meal but nothing to sell the place either. And the absence of other diners is usually a strong point, but nobody wants to walk into a completely empty restaurant, right? Thankfully, the food redeemed them. Lamb chops, B+: You can tell that these weren't the choicest cuts of meat, but they were prepared very nicely in a rosemary and red-wine demiglace. Very tasty. Calamari, B: Fried squid is always worth eating, but there is definitely good calamari and mediocre calamari. This avoided mediocrity by sporting a lighter batter and being served with a savory, chunky marinara. Thai cashew rolls, C: The weak link. I had forgotten that they had cashews and thought that there were crunchy chunks of carrot in the rolls. There was something unpleasantly creamy inside the roll, almost like cream cheese. It wasn't listed on the ingredients for this dish, though. The sweet chili sauce saved this dish from being a total wash. Crab cakes, A: The star of the meal. These were some of the best crab cakes I've ever tasted, and that's saying something. In Toledo, OH? Yes! Simple--just crab meat and a few vegetables, still mostly crunchy. No bullshit fillers or flavorings. There was a lemony sort of dressing which set off the crab cakes (and the accompanying salad) very well. Delicious.

She was very nice. Let me start by you won't go hungry. The meals come with two sides. She delivers plenty of food. The cat fish was great. The crab rolls were solid. They do have specials on their Facebook page. Everything we got was homemade! I don't think people give this place enough credit. It was a good stop for a change of pace. Glad we found it.

Its in a shopping plaza kind of diagonal to the university. Old school R&B as you come in. Just a…read moretouch too loud as I kept having to repeat myself talking to my partner. No sign that says seat yourself, pay at the counter, so we kind of stood awkwardly until someone came to say to seat ourselves. We came for Sunday brunch. No alcohol here yet. Just water and soda. We both thought it strange to not have coffee at brunch time but this place is new. Needs time to grow. Waitress was friendly but not knowledgeable about modifications. For example, the man wanted a strawberry waffle. She wasn't sure if it could be done, though they have strawberry french toast. We ordered shrimp n grits, strawberry waffle, and french toast, eggs, n turkey sausage. The shrimp n grits came in a huge bowl and had a little spicy kick to them. The strawberry waffle was a plain waffle with 3 strawberries on the side lol. French toast was the winner for me. Not that crazy thick bread. Seasoned just right. Some of the best I have had since my mama. Eggs had zero seasoning. Turkey sausage was good n had good flavor. Service needs work. She came back once to ask how the food was and to bring a plastic spoon for the grits. Atmophere is too nice to be eating with a plastic spoon. I almost got up to look for her to get the check because she didn't come back. When I requested the bill, she says pay at the counter and walked away. No problem but Im thinking can I see my bill? I personally like to have my $$ ready. Nope, he had to go up to the counter to get the bill. My partner said their credit card machine auto puts in 15% tip. I had already left a tip on the table so they got almost double. He had folks waiting to order behind him so he didn't ask about it.. That wouldn't have been me but $40 for brunch ain't bad. 90% of the folks coming in were ordering to go. I would return and do to- go also until they get some experience under their belt. Come see what you think.
