It's like a Waffle House, but it's much cleaner. You don't get that feeling of getting herpes just by sitting down. Yes, the food came out in ok time. The food tasted meh and looked a bit depressing. I ordered the Humpty Dumpty and sausage biscuit gravy. The texture of the biscuit was pretty sad with oblivion. The omelette was about as bland as a piece of printer paper. I have to say that the English muffin was ok probably because they didn't make it. Just beware that you will get charged for minute things such as English muffin and using credit card.

Breakfast will always, always be my favorite meal...any time of day! But if I'm being honest, I enjoy it most for lunch and supper. I mean who wants to eat a plate sized slice of country ham and a biscuit smothered in white/sausage gravy with a scrambled egg (or two) and some grits with cheese at 5 in the morning? Not to mention if there's a slice of toast (cut diagonally of course) and some fruit. Of course you have to wash all that goodness down with a minimum of 2 cups of coffee (whatever the level of quality of those beans) and maybe even some sweet tea just for good measure. See? I told you it's a lot to be consuming before the sun ever peaks over the horizon. And so recently I made my way to Sunrise at noon, having not been in a few years. Per usual the place was hoping and folks were waiting for a spot to open. Now I'll mention that if you are solo or maybe just two of you that the barstool seating opens up quickly. But at this point in life I need the back of a chair and some privacy so I can fully enjoy this goodness. But I digress. The table is self sufficient in that it has hot sauce, salt and pepper, Smucker's jams and apple butter, napkins, and menus. They will bring out creamer and butter with your order. The menu is straightforward, but fully customizable. You want fried apples instead of grits? Or bacon instead of ham? Just ask. And the team here are like the family members you actually like. You know, the nice ones who always give good birthday presents and a piece of candy when no one's looking. Now there are a couple of televisions on the walls, but if you position yourself intentionally you avoid seeing them (and the volume is off). Like all good diners, this place is a cornucopia of people. I loved the diversity, but especially seeing older adults at tables and young (to me) couples at other tables. It truly felt like a reunion of sorts. I look forward to returning much soon then before. I hope you'll do the same.

Got all the way home and they didn't put my receipt in the bag and did not give us any of the bacon we ordered.

Augusta doesn't have a great breakfast scene. So, you're sort of limited by what's available. This being said, Sunrise has quickly become one of my regular spots. The décor and setup are really nothing special. It's just sort of big room in strip mall. But if you can get past this you'll be in for a treat. What stands out most to me is how fast the food comes out. Man, I put my order in, glance at my phone and before I know it my food is out. I absolutely love how quickly the wait staff and kitchen function. Every time I've been here they've been on their A-game. My only gripe, is that I have found all of the proteins I've tried (the bacon, ham, chicken friend steak, sirloin steak, ham and sausage) to be underwhelming. And don't get me wrong, they're fine. But simply don't stand out when compared to the other aspects of my plate. The potatoes, eggs and grits are just fantastic. And again, they show up super fast! Both prices and portion sizes are very reasonable. Pro tip, at the time of this writing, there is a 10% of coupon you can use if you check in on Yelp. My next goal is to show up for lunch and try out that menu. I'd strongly recommend swinging by and grabbing a bite if you're hungry in the AM. I'd suggest being cautious on Sunday. Either come before or after the church crowd to avoid the chaos. I'll continue to frequent this spot.

We enjoy this breakfast spot. Expect to wait but parking is easy. Servers are friendly and the food is decent. I've tried several items over multiple visits and enjoyed them all.

I've been coming to Sunrise for years and have used them for catering services as well. I've never had any issues with the food and the prices are great. Most of the time I do not have to wait when dining in but there have been a few times I had to wait. The service is good at times and depending on who you get, it's amazing. The atmosphere is laid back and never too energetic.

I have…read moreno idea why the Yelp rating isn't higher, because this was a solid five-star experience across the board! We started with the fried cheese curds (yes, I insisted), and even my skeptical husband admitted they were excellent. The pepper jelly dipping sauce gave them the perfect sweet-and-spicy balance. He ordered the garlic parmesan wings, which he rated 8 out of 10--though I should note that I'm pretty sure his personal rating scale tops out at 8. He would've preferred a dry rub, but still gave them a thumbs up. I had the blackened chicken with shrimp, served over rice and beans with a crema sauce. I usually avoid blackened dishes for fear of too much heat, but this had just the right amount of kick. It was flavorful and well-balanced, and I'd absolutely order it again. To top it off, they had a great beer selection. I had the Mango Cart, a wheat beer with a bright, fruity flavor--super refreshing. Service was fantastic, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and we're already planning to come back. Don't let the low Yelp score fool you--this place is a keeper!

I ordered the Cali Bowl - Miso Salmon (added blackened shrimp) and fries WITH NO SALT as an APPETIZER! My buddy orders wings and a salad. His salad comes out promptly but no fries. The food comes out shortly after and he says the wings are great. Great for him! My fries finally make an appearance and are overly salty. I reminded the waitress they were requested unsalted so she took them back. By the time she'd returned with the new batch of fries, which was quite prompt, I'd mixed the ingredients of my Cali Bowl only to discover that it was lukewarm at best. The fries tasted refried, soaked with grease. The third time was a charm for the fries. I'd mentioned temperature of the bowl and although she'd offer to have it remade, it was quicker to reheat it, thus my request. It came back slightly warmer but not enough to eat. At this point, I was over it and just packed it up to take home. It wasn't the best visit but it definitely wasn't the worst. The croissants are the reason I'm sure I'll be back.

I'm going to try to separate my 'tastes' from the dishes as presented. My wife's Bolognese was absolutely delicious and very well seasoned, and the cheesecake was fantastic. My wife thought it had too much crumble; I consider that a feature and would absolutely get that again. The salads were dandelion greens and they were far more bitter than I like, and a generous dose of dressing, something acidic would cover it, or something sweet. The bites I had with tomato were good. But I couldn't really finish it. The big problem was spaghetti with Sunday gravy. It was a huge disappointment. The pasta itself was excellent and the meatballs were okay, but the sauce was surprisingly bland and under-seasoned, especially for a $30+ entrée. It tasted more like plain tomato sauce than the rich, deeply flavored hardy sunday gravy that fully of meaty and salty flavors I was expecting. I do NOT salt my dishes at the table because I season them thru the cook. I wish there were salt and pepper at the table tonight though. The Sunday Gravy tasted decidedly like pure puréed tomato with a few meatballs added after the fact. They were dry and clearly not cooked with the sauce. I wish they had been. There are definitely things here I'd happily order again. Others I want to try. I'd just skip the spaghetti, especially at that price point.
