Voted in Top 100 Places in US and Canada for Croissants recently on Yelp, so I added on my radar to try. This is located in a part of Phoenix I'm rarely out to, but had a meeting at the Phoenix Rising Stadium in the morning so added this as a morning pit stop. This place is hopping on a Saturday morning, and seems to be well-loved by the community. I can see why it made the list, and heck, the only Arizona location on that list! One small gripe was that I ordered a regular croissant, and received a ham and cheese croissant. I try to refrain from eating meat, so my cousin had to enjoy while I only had the very outside of the croissant. It was very flaky and delicious however! I also tried the Bavarian Cream donut and iced Thai tea. The iced Thai tea was personally too sweet to me, and I'll stick to tea shops. Overall though, we were happy! Both their donuts and croissants are tasty, so check them out if in the area!

Really fresh and wide selection of donuts. Got there at 5am and they were missing a few, so I would suggest getting there after 6 most likely. HIGHLY recommend the croissant and ham and cheese croissant with jalapeño. Donuts were still soft and tasted good the next day.

Stopped in the morning on a weekend for a treat. There was a decent amount of variety of options for donuts, pastries, and drinks. There was a line and the staff were quick and helpful. The location is small but welcoming with a few sit down seats. The parking lot is easy to navigate with multiple entry points. We ordered a croissant which ended up being a ham croissant which was a little disappointing. We didn't really eat it because neither of us like ham. The donut was good. This location was far from home, but I'd stop in if in the area again.

Rather is the best!!! We read that this is#5 on the best donuts in America list and decided to make the drive here. At first, I thought that this couldn't be the place, but double-checked my source and it was. It's kinda pushed back closer to the Mountains but not too close and upon entrance, it seemed like a donut factory with all of them to-go carry-out boxes piled up but this is due to the many orders that they receive. They have some great tasting donuts as they are not sweet at all they taste kinda "good for you" The fancy donuts($1.69) are fluffy in taste, and I wanted 4 but they only had 2 so Rathar made me 2 more right there on the spot... how sweet!!! I did notice that I was overcharged by $1.69 as I only bought 4 fancy donuts and she tossed in donut holes for me to taste she said... but perhaps, she upsold me those for that extra$1.69 In any case, I'm not complaining but, just check your receipts at all establishments these days. Js‍‍ Are they the best? Depends on if you like sweet-tasting donuts or donuts that taste SugarFree. They are good though! Customer service sold me more so! The donut holes are sweet and taste like real donuts so there ya have it! It's worth the drive to taste for yourself

SO YUMMY!!! We randomly stumbled upon this place and we are so glad we did. The donuts were all extremely fresh and they had a large amount of variety at 10:30 AM. The maple donut was so tasty and the apple fritter so probably the best I've ever had! Will definitely go back when I'm in the area.

They are so sweet and appreciative of their customers ! Since the Starbucks boycott has begun I have switched to coming to Sunrise donuts for my coffee and even better they have more than just coffee and their treats are better than Starbucks ! I came in today for some boba, iced coffee and 6 donuts and when I came home to open the box I realized they added in some donut holes for free they are too sweet I love this place !

Their donuts are so good! My mother goes here quite often and is always raving how delicious and fresh there donuts are. We went this past weekend and we order a taro bubble tea and half a dozen donuts. We ended up with little over half! The employees there know my mom and siblings and always throw in a little extra something because they're regulars. That was a nice surprise! It's really cool when a small business has friendly staff and really good food! The taro was a little less potent than I'm used to but it was still really good! The boba was soft and those donuts. Man, oh, man. You have to try them for your self. But make sure to head there in the morning since by the evening they're running out of product. That's the price to pay for every day freshly made donuts. read more

Possibly the best donuts we've ever had! Not overly sweet frosting, light & fluffy dough, and lots of unique options. I got a classic chocolate frosted, my husband got the Boston creme (which was more of the custard filling we both prefer!), and we split the maple bacon donut they had on special. Nothing disappointed, and they even gave us a few free donut holes :) We will definitely be back! read more

Sunrise is the best donut spot in Laveen. I also like the kolaches and croissants. My husband doesn't like that they never have plain white icing cake donuts, so we don't come here as often as we used to. If you don't get there early on weekends the donut options are definitely limited. read more

Wonderful family-owned business serving the freshest donuts in Phoenix. Usually, you hear about other staples (LaMar's, Bosa, etc.) around the valley that are good; however, Sunrise is on another level. They're not overly sweet, they have a very soft texture, and you can taste the freshness with every bite. We've been going here sporadically for years and I recommend their donuts and excellent customer service to anyone! read more

I will start by saying I am not really a Donut fan but their donuts were ridiculous! Fresh, delicious, melts in your mouth Fantastic. Sadly, the bagels were lacking: can't really call it a bagel as it tasted more like just regular bread. I'd ordered the egg & cheese bagel and it didn't have butter on it or anything, very dry, I asked and they did put cream cheese on it though. Important to note is my concern for the flies in the shop. I understand flies can get into a shop but when your cases are open and there are flies on the actual donuts that's not good for business. I saw a couple people walk in and then leave without ordering, must've seen the flies. Also, while we sat I noticed the employees in the back were working but if someone came in the door, they were not aware. Maybe they should have a bell or monitor in the back or something. Overall just an OK experience for me. read more

Hands down the best donuts! We've tried a couple of the other donut shops in the area (I'm sorry!) and totally regretted it. So many donuts are disgustingly sweet or leave a greasy after taste. Sunrise donuts are always fresh, perfectly sweet and well stocked in the morning. Don't go to the chains when this local business has the best donuts hands down. The staff was friendly throughout our stay, and the overall property has a relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to enjoy the sunshine and scenery. We booked an upgraded suite with a separate bedroom and TV room, which gave us plenty of space to spread out. While the layout was great, the room itself could use some updates. The bathroom fixtures were older--the Kohler toilet didn't flush well and was a bit noisy, and the tub/shower combo had rounded sides that made it tricky to stand comfortably. The shower water also never got fully hot. The room had a slightly musty smell, and the carpets would benefit from a deep cleaning. The balcony screen door didn't close tightly, which let a few flies in, and access to the second floor required two sets of stairs since there's no elevator in that section. Even with those issues, the resort's location, views, and overall vibe made the stay enjoyable. They are made fresh every morning, and it outshines any other donut shop or chain for sure. If you get there at a decent hour in the morning, they are still warm. The apple fritters are ridiculous! Amazing donuts!!! Soft, sweet, and savory! Their blended vanilla latte is also recommended, it's very silky and good for people that do not like strong coffee.
