I'm out on a limb with this review. A 3 or 4. Even though the meal was less than i expected, I'll give a 4. - I was camping at Occoneechee VA State Park. I was wanting breakfast before I headed out to Staunton River, VA State Park. I searched Google and Yelp and really, ya'll need help in this area. Either that or you, for real, don't have many choices in the area. Let me say. Creamed Chipped Beef Gravy should be on EVERY breakfast menu in the South and when I put Chipped Beef Gravy in both, Google And Yelp, it pulled up everything, even Subway. It was depressing. So ok. Most interesting thing I saw was Sunrise Biscuit. Henderson North Carolina. I was about 40 min out? Ok.....let's go. My Yelp directions had me in circles. I changed to Google. Had to pull over couple times to refresh my directions. I finally arrived. It's a tiny little place. Rutted out parking area. I smacked my head and went on in. No line when I was there. 3 people. I ordered bacon egg and cheese biscuit, and gravy on the side, plus a large coffee. Order was called. Chef confirmed. Order of side gravy was yelled out for reconfirmation, Chef said I got it. Order up. My bacon egg and cheese biscuit had seen better days. A Lotta bacon! Though my egg was offsides and hanging on for dear life. It took me 1/2 a sugar jar to reach even near the level of flavor I like. That's because the coffee was a confirmed LARGE!!! I loved it. Thank you! I sat inside to eat, while mostly everyone else was to go. I enjoyed watching the customer's experiences. Everyone was nice. Regarding my food, my biscuit was not fluffy with some glistening grease. More-so, it stuck to my teeth and had to wash it down my throat with the coffee. Glad it was a large. My gravy.... my gravy was in a thimble compared to the rest of my meal. I had to giggle. It was good. I wasn't mad at all. My bill was less than $7. It stuck to my gut and was a great experience. I wont forget it! Thanks!!! read more

Small town business with a lot of local traffic and loyal customers. Biscuits are good and they do offer a lot more. Had an omelet with ham and cheese. Was nothing special but was well prepared and tasted good. Biscuit was also very good. Coffee was coffee and was good too. Only bad part was the hashbrown. Its like the ones you get from Macdonald's. That in itself isn't the issue though. It tasted horrible from old grease in the fryer. I did notice no one else while I was there got anything fried. Locals know best! Staff is friendly and food was quick. I would go back just wont order anything fried! read more

I adore mom and pop shops so it was a no brainer for me to stop in and order. All of the food was reasonably priced and the wait time wasn't long . I ordered a turkey sausage egg and cheese on a biscuit . It was great .... Next time I'll order two lol read more

This spot is -- and looks like -- a hole-in-the-wall. But don't let that discourage you. When in Henderson, this is the best biscuit you'll get. There are the typical fast food options a valve , but this is something different and worth exploring. It's your typical southern fast food breakfast spot. Nothing fancy, but simple classics made well. The biscuits are moist, buttery and just the right amount of flaky. The fried chicken biscuit is a classic, but something salty like the country ham or sausage is very nice. Always order a hash brown. The restaurant is small, but never crowded and the food is served quickly by nice staff in a clean environment. If you haven't been to Sunrise Biscuit, add it to your breakfast repertoire. The food was good but the customer service wasn't. Cashier had a smart attitude and basically kicked us out at 2:00 while we were still eating by saying "you know we close at 2:00, right"? We grabbed our food and finished eating in our vehicle. read more

Got the meats omelette with grits and biscuit. Wife moved on the steak egg cheese biscuit. The server offered fried onions on the biscuit the wife declined and the girl at the register persisted with a look that said your missing out. Boy was she right. This used to have the best biscuits in town. They were buttery and fluffy. I got country ham, and the ham was juicy. Now go to Bojangle's. The biscuits here are dry and dense, the country ham is crispy like bacon. Not a hint of butter. read more
