You walk up to their counter and order through their register. After your payment has been processed, your order is ready to be picked up on the opposite side of the counter. After my first sip of the Taro Milk Tea, I realized that I forgot to add boba when I placed the order. So I went and asked one of the servers if they can just add boba to my drink and charge me extra. The lady that helped me gave me a brand new drink with the added boba and didn't charge me extra, which I really appreciated. Drinks: 1 out of 5 I ordered my drinks with the recommended sweetness, but the Taro Milk Tea came out to be tasteless. Plus, it came with a generous chunk of taro paste, which gave the drink an awful taste and texture. The Sunright Fruit Tea also tasted weird for me. The sweetness level was actually fine. This place is delicious! I always hear Irvine has great boba but I haven't found anything THAT amazing. I came across this spot, noticed there was a line (not that long, it took 10 min), so I had to try it. I ended up going with their classic Sunright Milk Tea (it normally comes with boba but I was in a pudding mood). I appreciate that there are sugar and ice levels, I did half ice and half sugar which was perfect. This drink is a classic black milk tea but with brown sugar. Kinda crazy how big this place has blown up in the past few years! So awesome that they did so well in spite of the pandemic. I remember when the first location opened in DB a couple years back, my go to drink was the panda milk tea, simple and good since I'm not a huge fan of the really sweet over the top drinks. Last week I picked up some drinks while on an errand run at diamond jamboree. Ordered online and they were ready right on time. Picking them up was a breeze. Very small storefront, no place to sit, just enough space for a couple of people to be inside to order/pick up their drinks, but that shouldn't be an issue with the many tables outside. This time around, I got the grapefruit yakult drink, half sugar. Still tasted quite sweet, but the slight bitter and citrusy taste of the grapefruit offset the sweetness of the yakult, adding a nice tang and depth to the taste. I also love how they slice the grapefruits to show on the side of the drink, it makes it very pretty and enjoyable to drink. Definitely will continue to visit all locations of sunright :) read more

This place is very cute and has great staff! I like to ask a lot of questions when I go somewhere new, and the staff was very helpful in answering the questions and offering samples of what they had before I made my drink choices. I ended up getting the Oolong Milk Tea, Ceylon Milk Tea, and the Milk Plus (all half sweet)! I've never tried the flavored milks at any location, but I really enjoyed the one here! It's basically just...milk with brown sugar and their boba?! It's pretty simple, and it's something I would mostly go to as a dessert rather than a drink. Unfortunately, I don't think the tea flavors with the oolong and ceylon really stood out to me. It tasted very generic and not fresh tea like. It's not some place I would particularly come back to for the milk teas, but I did love the Milk Plus, and a lot of people ordered their fresh fruit teas, which I would make the trip back for. Sunright may have been overhyped for me, but I wasn't very impressed after hearing so much from my friends who like this place so much. The interior is pretty small considering how many people come here - we were standing out the door for a while until the line trickled in due to the layout being more of a horizontal shaped inside. Note that there's a self-serve kiosk for any credit card/tap-to-pay customers!!! I feel like a lot of people don't know it's available to anyone; from time to time I heard the cashier try to let the line of people know there's another option, but there's no huge sign that made it obvious. We did use the kiosk and it was super easy to work through. Strawberry Jasmine (22oz - $4.75): Definitely a "fresh fruit" tea than other boba shops, meaning that because they use fresh strawberries, I feel like the taste is much lighter. However, even though the lighter strawberry taste is warranted, I felt like the tea flavor was also lacking. This might be someone else's type of drink, but it tasted very watered down to me - and I don't need anything too sweet! Strawberry Matcha Latte (22oz - $5.50?): This was under the "December" specials on the kiosk menu, but they also had the "November" specials still up, so I'm not sure if this is a limited time thing or if they just keep all the specials they release? After much trial and error, I finally found a drink my tastebuds agree with at Sunright! Fellow YE Tim C. posted a pic of their Taro fresh milk ($5.65) and it looked like an artsy masterpiece with the layered taro and brown sugar. I had to try it the next day and, boy, it did not disappoint! The sweetness level of 75% was perfect for me, and the boba was of a good chewiness consistency. The ground taro paste meshes well with the rest of the drink. The drink itself was 5 stars out of 5, but there was no AC at all on 90-degree summer day...makes me wonder if their poor employees might have been sweating into the drinks. :/ If Sunright cares so much about quality control, the least they could do is not overlook the AC issue. I was invited to try out Sunright Tea Studio. I may be the wrong person to ask about boba. I've been really good at staying away from drinking a lot of boba. I entered the little boba shop and it was pretty warm and humid inside. Like going to our relatives house that refuses to turn on the AC no matter what the temperature is outside. To order you use the iPad at the counter. Luckily, someone took my order for me. I ordered a strawberry green tea boba. Now this may not be what this boba place is known for, but my body doesn't handle lactose well (TMI) so if I get boba it's not a milk tea. I ask for less ice and less sweet. I get my drink and it's warm. So, if they just made the boba this is common. But the warm boba almost immediately melted the less ice in my drink and the strawberry tea was pretty much watered down. I don't need my drinks to be sweet at all. I order my coffee black but when it came to this tea...it just tasted bland. User error? Okay maybe. The first time I was here, I got a regular black tea and didn't quite get why people were such big fans of Sunright (not just this location, but almost every location). I guess it must have been what I ordered because on my second visit, I ordered the mango milk tea ($4.95), 75% sweet and less ice with boba ($0.65 add-on), and let me tell you, that is one helluva good drink! You order via the self-service kiosk, so you can control how custom you want your drink. It didn't take too long with my drink either, as it was ready within 7 minutes of ordering. Plenty of parking in this area. This location also has a nice outdoor patio set-up, great for enjoying your drink there or for a BTS cupsleeve event (which was why I was there!), lol. read more

I usually don't care too much when it comes to customer service, not really worth mentioning unless it was memorable. But wow, can't help but point out how much they care even less than me. No sort of acknowledgement from the staff when you walk in, they are all busy making drinks. Signs direct you to the tablet to place an order, or go on toasttab.com. The only human interaction is when you go to the counter to pick up. Maybe it's more efficient to have the whole team preparing drinks, or these are temporary COVID protocols, or they're just busy. But for a franchise that markets itself as a high quality tea purveyor, they could do better to offer a more welcoming experience. I've been to smaller boba shops with less staff, to this day still limiting capacity inside and having someone by the register to take orders. But like I said I don't care, and it certainly helps that their boba is pretty good. Went ahead and tried their rendition of Strawberry Matcha Latte, the drink most people associate with Boba Guys. Sunright includes a little bit of oolong tea in theirs, but the main ingredients are identical. Customizations for this specific drink are minimal, you can choose your preferred topping and type of milk. After shaking 17 times to mix the three "layers", you are left with a drink that is mostly green from the matcha. The strawberry puree is sweet and does a good job overcoming the earthy, bitterness of the tea. The brown sugar boba had a great consistency, it was very chewy. Panda Milk Tea is a blend of ceylon black tea and your choice of milk, topped with honey boba and brown sugar boba. I noticed online you are allowed to add up to five toppings and adjust ice/sweetness. Solid drink overall, the tea was refreshing and went well with our milk choice. No complaints regarding the brown sugar boba, but the batch of honey boba we got felt a tad undercooked in the center. I'm sure most regulars are fine with how Sunright operates, ordering online first and having their drinks ready before they park their cars. As a first-timer, I was just taken aback at how different things are compared to other places. Definitely more drinks on the menu to try, at least I know what to expect on the next visit. read more

I think this has become my favorite place for fruit tea in Irvine. I've been here 4 times since my initial check in. Since I am a creature of habit, I get the same drink every time, the Sunright Fruit Tea with crystal (agar) boba. However, what I keep forgetting is what sugar adjustment I get so this will help me remember forever! I've been meaning to try this place for awhile after hearing so many great things about it from my friends. I got there on a Sunday around 5 and there was a decent line wrapped outside to order. After about 10 minutes, I got to the front and ordered. They have contactless ordering so you just manually put into the machine what you want and then pay. Another 10-15 minutes goes by and I finally get my order. I went with the sunright fruit tea at regular sweetness with crystal boba. This is one of their signature fruit teas and I could definitely see why. The best way I could describe this drink is like an arnold palmer but sub the lemonade with orange juice! The drink was so refreshing and had such a nice balance between the fruit and the tea. When they say freshly squeezed oranges, I believe them because the orange flavor really felt so fresh.
