I like their self serve kiosk. No cash btw. It's a bit different because I prefer human to person transactions but this was pretty smooth. This place was clean and well lit. Nice vibe and very nice, friendly workers. Fast too! My Thai tea reminded me a lot of a place called "Kozan" in Ontario. Same exact taste and set up. I wonder if they're the same? Anyway, I always get it no sweet, easy ice. No boba unless it's the weekend lol In conclusion, I really liked the taste and portions. Price was perfect! Large Thai tea under $5. Keep it that way! Sunright Tea Studio is located in a small strip mall along Artesia and Western. Honestly it's pretty overshadowed by the in n out, but the drinks are pretty good. I got the Oreo crème brûlée milk tea, which was pretty good. You could definitely taste the crumbled Oreo bits and the Oreo slush, just wish they put a bit more, because once I got towards the end of my drink it was just all milk tea. My dear heart gets excited whenever there is a new boba shop in the South Bay. I tried their oreo brulee boba milk, and let me just say that they use actual OREOs (other boba places use oreo-like cookies) so it makes a difference in the taste! Sunright Tea Studio has to be my favorite boba shop in the Southbay area. Their quality has been very consistent, and all the drinks I tried there had been great. My favorite drinks are the taro boba milk (soooo good!), fresh strawberries frosty, and mango milk tea. The best thing about this shop is that all the fruit (and the taro) are real fruit, not the powder type, it really makes a difference in the taste of the drinks. I've been disappointed by the drinks at Sunright the past couple of times that I've been there. This location is located in Gardena in the shopping center by Western Ave. & Artesia Blvd. In-N-Out is in the same plaza. There's a ton of free parking in the lot. When you walk in, you can order with the worker at the cash register or do it yourself at the kiosk on the left. (They prefer you manually put in your order yourself because they're not at the cash register most of the time). There are a couple tables and chairs inside for you to enjoy your drinks at. There's a bunch of different teas and blended drinks here. I've had the Oreo Brûlée, Strawberry Matcha and Matcha Frostie. Every single one has disappointed me by the taste. It's just not satisfying. They add way too much boba to the drink so the boba to drink ratio is off, meaning you get about 3-5 bobas with each sip. Need less boba and more drink! Plus the boba isn't very good because it's hard. I was just very disappointed the last handful of times I've come here. read more

Another boba shop in the South Bay. They are popping up everywhere! My good friend really likes Sunright tea so I had to drag myself to Gardena to try it. She really likes the matcha red bean drink but I usually like to try the jasmine green tea with boba as a first drink at any new boba shop. It was a good drink. I can taste the tea flavor and it wasn't just a sweet boba drink like some cheap boba places. I did get 75% sweetness and it was just right for me. The boba was nice and chewy as well. The online ordering experience was easy but ordering at their self-service kiosk is a refreshing experience as well. I got the Matcha Oolong Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba at 25% sugar and it was perfect. The Brown Sugar Boba, however it's made, is prepared with a perfectly even, chewy texture, but not sticky like other places. They also have a neutral but pleasing taste. With a two-drink order, they were packed in a cup holder and bagged, which might be unnecessary in terms of paper waste, but I appreciate the attention to those details. Tip: get 75% sweet if you don't like overly sweet drinks (tried 50% and it's not really sweet) Have already been here before, will continue to come back. Loving the new boba places that are opening up in the South Bay! I usually get the brûlée milk teas (which are always spot on) but this time I decided to go with the jasmine green tea with cheese foam (my usual order at happy lemon) and brown sugar boba. I got it with 75% sweetness and 100% ice. The tea flavor really came through in the drink (same as in the other drinks) and the cheese foam is slightly sweet to really let the tea flavor shine. The boba had perfect chewy texture and the brown sugar wasn't overly too sweet. It was a nice change from happy lemon which I think focuses more on the cheese foam then the tea flavor. Overall another great boba spot, happy that I don't have to go all the way to sawtelle or DTLA to get it. read more

So I came as a first time customer to this location and first of all they don't accept cash. I know nobody uses cash a lot but that's inconvenient and another thing I asked for a taro milk tea with almond milk and I got a drink that's brown lol and when I asked what is this she said it's a Taro so i asked why is it brown she says because that's how they make it. I told her why is it not lavender color she said maybe other places froth it too much lol. I am never coming back here both the register guy was not inviting or helpful and the response I got for my milk tea being all brown and thick powder as I drank it was not cool. I have been to Sunright Tea Studio a few times. I usually get a strawberry blended jasmine tea with boba and 70% sugar. I've also tried the grapefruit jasmine tea. What I like about this tea place that is different from other tea places is the fresh fruit in the drinks and very good tasting tea. The ordering is a little quirky with only kiosks available. There are many people working or staffed that don't seem to be too busy making drinks but generally socializing. You'd think the service would be faster because of this but unfortunately it's slow. Unlike other boba shops in the Southbay area, where most of them use taro powder, I'm pretty displeased that Sunright uses natural taro, which is finely cooked, in Taro Frostie. Although the boba topping here is not too prominent, the quality of the drink is entirely satisfactory for me because the taste is natural, and the blend is just right, not too sweet, and not too pale. I usually like milk teas but I was in the mood for something lighter -- the Sunright fruit tea was perfect! I took it down to 25% sweetness and then added brown sugar boba and the taste was just right for me because I don't like things very sweet. Your mileage may vary depending on your taste. The ordering interface at the kiosk made it very easy to customize my drink. You can even customize your ice level. There are 2 ordering panels on the wall to the left as you walk in. The kiosk was not hard to use, but it's probably good to take a look at the website before you get there so you have an idea of what you want to order, otherwise you could back up the line. The fruit tea (infused with yummy orange and lemon slices) was $5.95 and the boba add-in was $0.75 more so the subtotal was $6.70 before the tip. Conveniently located in the same wing as Albertson's market, near a nail salon. I was concerned at first that it would take long because this popular place had a line at the kiosk (short line, though), people waiting around for their orders, and some people heading in from the parking lot. But it turned out I had to run back to Albertson's to get ONE thing I forgot, and my drink was ready when I rushed back. read more

This was my first time trying Sunright and for first timers they recommended me to try their classic Sunright Boba Milk Tea. I got it 75% sweetened although the recommended was 100%. Still found it a bit too sweet so I went again today and got it 50% sweetened, which to my surprise is still pretty sweet! (I rarely go lower than 75% sweetened.) Scenery & Service: Scenery was great, I loved the ability to mobile order quickly with a qr code and there's 2 touch screen tablet to order in addition to that. Service was pretty quick, soon as I ordered with apple pay, i heard a ring and they were quickly on it. Doesn't have any decorations that were very eye catching and unique. So nothing there that I would take a pic and the background would be cool to post or anything like that. I've seen other boba shops having these cool designs or back-drops so that's why i mention this. Overall 7/10, could be better with the designs of the store or decorations to make this place stand out. But great for a quick stop boba shop Value: Paid $5.50 for the boba in the pic. Brown sugar with boba, pretty default order. I'd say the price matches up with a lot of other places I've been to, maybe even a tiny bit cheaper than average for the size. I'd rate it a 6/10, 5/10 being average Taste: The taste was pretty comparable to a lot of other boba shops, nothing that makes this particularly stand out. But the key thing here, is that it's not bad. So definitely a place you can trust if you just crave boba and want a quick place to go. They are not accepting cash at this time, only cards. Note that 22% tip is the first option that is listed, so make sure you really read the display. I also opted for a printed receipt and did not get one. Another lady was fiddling with the register and said I needed to enter my phone number in order to get the receipt texted to me since their printer wasn't working. On the screen it says to enter your number to enroll in the rewards program, I did not want to enroll. So I just opted not to get a receipt and noted the total and date in my phone. There is also inconsistent treatment of customers and considering that there were not many customers (me and a two females) at the time, it could have been better or less strange at least. The lady at the register was nice and patient with me. The female associate who called my name said it ok but just before that she was much perkier calling the customer who placed their order after I did (and who was sitting near the pickup counter). When I picked up my order, the associate just abruptly turned and walked away. I was pleasant with them and even tipped the 22%. Only one of the other two women ordered one item and then they sat there quiet and weirdly watching me. I also heard whispers behind the counter about 'bitch' and 'smell'. It was very quiet in the store. While I am unsure who they were speaking of, based on the pick up associate behavior, I would guess me. I showered and thankfully did not sweat much despite the hot day (car AC is a blessing) and I was pleasant when I interacted with all the associates. Hopefully they didn't spit in my drink.
