Alright, so I am not a huge fan of cheese foam BUT I absolutely loved the white peach oolong one with agar boba!! I wasn't sure how sweet the drink would be so I went with 75% sugar. I also have no idea what agar boba is, but it kinda has the consistency of lychee jelly. It was slightly cheaper than the regular boba too ;) I tried to mix the cheese foam in with the tea as much as possible but was still left with a chunk at the bottom of the drink. Oh well. The tea itself was refreshing and you can really taste the peach and the oolong. On the other hand, do not get their taro milk tea. In the words of my friend, "unless you want to feel like you're eat drinking potatoes, do not get it." Most tea shops use taro powder for their drinks but Sunright actually used fresh taro chunks so I was a bit surprised. Either way, I wouldn't have gone with that since I don't care for taro stuff. Most likely you'll notice that the long line is for boba (as an older white man realized when walking by). I waited in line for about 10-15 minutes. The woman taking our order was super friendly and talkative. Sunlight even offers samples of their teas and answers any questions you have. I ordered the white peach oolong cream and the jasmine green tea. First off, the white peach oolong cream was interesting... I'm not sure if they made it correctly because the tea tasted like rum with a touch of tea. I didn't get any peach flavor. The cheese foam is thick and salty and adds a good contrast to the sweet tea. The jasmine green milk tea tasted like vanilla yogurt with milk tea. I liked it but it wasn't how I expected it to taste compared to other green milk tea from other establishments. Overall, Sunright was just okay. I would come back to try their other drinks such as their yogurt drinks but otherwise there's other boba shops out there. PS. Four seasons tea is a strong green tea. PPS. This place is the spot! My coworker and I try to grab Sunright during our lunch break and we're always excited to try something new here. We actually popped by recently and while we were sitting down waiting I overheard (I think the manager) one of the employees come by to ask a customer if his drink tasted okay. He noticed that the customer's drink looked a little different (maybe a bit darker in color?) and asked about the level of sweetness (the customer said a low level) and he offered to remake a whole new one if it was too sweet (which it was). I can't believe Sunright opened a location in Costa Mesa! For the past few months I've been planning a trip to their Diamond Bar location, so the fact that they opened a location way closer to me is super convenient! I came in during their grand opening while they had their BOGO deal. I have so far tried two drinks: Oreo brûlée boba milk and the Sunright Fruit Tea. The Oreo brûlée boba milk is honestly my favorite so far. The drink has a nice creamy texture from the Oreo and brûlée combo. At regular sweetness, the drink isn't too sweet in my opinion. This drink has no tea in it, just milk. You can sub out the milk with oat, almond, or soy milk (a huge bonus to anyone who's lactose intolerant) for an extra dollar. This drink ended up costing over $6 with soy milk subbed, which is pretty pricey. The Sunright Fruit Tea was honestly underwhelming in my opinion. You can tell that the drink is fresh and has quality ingredients, but it honestly just tastes like orange juice to me. Personally, I would not recommend this drink. Customer service is very friendly and helpful. I was standing in front of the clear window watching them make their drinks and they made sure to ask me what my number was to make sure that my drinks were on the way. *Also kind of irrelevant but I really like how their cups are slightly rounded at the bottom, they're really adorable!! And that their logo is positioned vertically on the cups, it looks really nice* Overall, I think Sunright is a solid boba store but definitely on the pricier side. Sunright is a tea shop with lots of options and great tea flavor. I ordered the strawberry green tea half sweet. It had great flavor and tea taste, but while I normally order half sweet at most tea places I think I could have done 75% instead. Towards the end when my ice melted, I think it watered it down to where the strawberry was harder to taste. I drink very slowly, so if you're like me keep that in mind. The fresh strawberry pieces were a nice touch, and were small enough pieces that didn't get stuck in the straw. As a side note, I also really like their packaging! This place was located in a little food court center inside a building. There is air conditioning inside and they have places to sit. They also have seating outside and it was very quiet and peaceful when I went which was on a Friday. There was no one in line so our drinks were made super fast. There is a tablet in the front to order instead of ordering through the workers. The tablet shows you pictures of the drink which is extremely convenient and allows you to customize your drink to your desire. The workers are always there to help you if you have trouble using the tablet or if you need to pay with cash. They have a wide variety of drinks and they all look so good. Oreo brûlée Boba Milk: I decided to get this drink with no customizations because it is one of their most popular drinks and I wanted to get the full effect. The drink was delicious and super sweet! It was thick almost like a oreo milkshake because of the brûlée foam they add! I would also like to add that my friend thought the drink didn't need the boba because the boba was sweet as well and can "clash" with the Oreo flavor; however it is based on preference because I thought it was delicious! Just one of the many boba places I have visited in my quest to visit them all! As a true boba fan, I recommend checking this place out for their fruit teas. I really like the Sunright fruit tea which comes with a variety of fruit slices and tastes pretty refreshing. My only gripe is that it tends to be on the sweeter side so I usually get 50-75% sweetness (I usually get 100% a other places since I have a big sweet tooth...and hopefully no cavities...). The boba itself is a hit or miss. I tend to not order the boba here since it's been more of a miss with either stale or hard boba. It is also lacking in the flavor department. The milk teas have been decent for the most part, but the tea flavor itself tends to be diluted or weaker compared to other places I've been to. In terms of location, it's pretty convenient as it is in "The Mix" building. You can eat at nearby restaurants or even study in the area as they have plenty of chairs and tables. The setting is pretty hipster so if you're into that, it's another plus. The staff is nice and friendly so feel free to ask questions about their drinks! They are pretty knowledgeable. More oolong mt with a splash of matcha. The oreo crime brulee drink is very similar to Omomos except the base is milk rather than a milk tea. I didn't like that it was milk base bc the drink is already creamy and the milk just makes it more creamy and dense. Hands down one of my favorite boba places ever. You can tell that they use high quality ingredients from the moment you take a sip. The aroma you get from their teas is pretty remarkable. I also appreciate the sweetness of their drinks. I had 100% sweet on one drink and 75% sweet on the other and they were both perfect. Sometimes 100% sweetness can be so overwhelming that your teeth actually hurt, but it's perfect here. Matcha - One of the best matcha drinks I've ever had! The flavor was very rich but perfectly milky. It's hard to explain how well they blended their flavors but it was bomb. Came here for a Yelp elite event and I was not disappointed! My girlfriend ordered their Creme brulee boba milk and I got their sunright fruit tea. The fruit tea was really tasty! I asked for 75% sugar since the person at the register said their drinks generally run sweet and I'd say it was the perfect sweetness for what I was looking for! The fruits gave it that natural sweetness, but the sugar definitely turned it up. Inside the drink were some lemon and orange slices, which actually gave the drink that extra tangy flavor to give it more uniqueness over other fruit teas! I got their lychee jelly, which was pretty standard so nothing to write home about that. There are closer ones to where I live, but overall, I'd choose this place over some of my previous go-to's based on this experience.
