You can find Sunright located inside the OC Mix next to Portola Coffee Roasters, I love this location. They have indoor seating specifically for Sunright and the over OC Mix has seating everywhere so it's a great place to catch up with a friend or do some work. The staff are always nice and friendly. Ordering is through a self serve kiosk so you can make your adjustments to sweetness, ice and toppings as well as make your payment which is card only. I've been here several times and the drinks are always consistent. I personally recommend their matcha strawberry milk, it's very similar to boba guys but their strawberry jam hits different. I also love their Hokkaido Milk Tea (butterscotchy taste) and Ceylon Milk Tea. Both really good choices. Hubby and I have eyed Sunright tea studio for some time, but haven't had the chance to try it until a few weeks ago. We did their online order, which was quick and easy. Our order came out in under 10 minutes. We were impressed by their selections, as they carry a lot of boba milk teas as well as fruit teas, cheese foam, coffee, slushies, and more. You can select the amount of sweetness and ice that you prefer in your drink, which is always great. They even offer kids sized boba, which is also a nice touch. Here are some of the drinks we have tried: Strawberry matcha milk latte (4/5): This was pretty good. We ordered our drink to be the lowest level of sweetness. We felt the latte was still rather sweet despite it being a lower level. However, the strawberry pieces and matcha flavor were all great. Brown sugar milk tea (5/5): This is a solid milk tea and usually the first drink we order at any boba shop to see if it is good or not. The brown sugar milk tea from here is delicious and not overly sweet. It's definitely a must and great safe choice. Strawberry frosty (3.5/5): This drink was not as good as the others. We got it less sweet, but it still needed more of a strawberry flavor. It's not bad, but just not as good as their taro milk tea or the brown sugar milk tea! Taro milk tea (5/5): WOW. Sunright takes taro milk tea to a whole new level. Most other places we have tried in the past are made with taro powder or tiny chunks of frozen taro, but they use taro paste here! It's thick but tastes SO good with the milk tea. We recommend using a spoon to scoop out the paste to have with your drink. It's worth it. Overall experience with Sunright tea studio has been wonderful. We are impressed with the quality of their drinks. Even the cups that the drinks sat in were of a higher tier. They were quality cups, not the cheap plastic that most boba cups are made with. The flavor of the drinks were on par with the quality of the cups. The girl with the long hair in purple dye greeted me with big smiles and answered all the questions I had. She also offered suggestions. I was telling her that I had seen their new drink Mochi Matcha Red bean that I have been wanting to try but not sure. She provided me to have mochi on the side. I also changed the milk to oat milk with 50% sweetness. When she handed me the drink, she several times would like me to try the drink and assure me that she can adjust/ change the drink if I don't like it. I do appreciated her service. About the drink: if you like very sweet drink, I would cut down to 50% when it is blended with the ice. My drink came out not so sweet at all. Yet it is perfect for the hot day. One word, yummy! I've gone here a handful of times, sometimes just for boba, sometimes to study and it never disappoints. I would say my favorite drink right now is the White Peach Oolong with Cheese Foam, 0% sugar!! The cheese foam makes for a perfect balance of sweetness (I don't like my drinks too sweet). I've also had their Strawberry Jasmine with agar boba and it's delicious! Agar boba is good!! The texture is kind of like rainbow jelly. It's not as chewy as regular boba but still a good choice. The only thing about ordering boba with a drink is that it always comes with so much and obviously less drink so maybe next time I'll ask for less boba. Instagram opportunity here. I have stopped by this shop several times. The drinks are ok. It is more like a dessert drink shop than a quality tea leaf store. There is an automated ordering screen that lets you choose everything from sweetness level to additional ingredients and you can pay. There's no real interaction with any of the employees here. And of course, there's an opportunity to leave a tip even though the drinks aren't brought out to you and there's no real employee interaction. This is the place to take Instagram photos and take multiple selfies with the drinks . The beautiful looking drinks are a work of art but they also carry along a pretty hefty price tag. Definitely, in my opinion, the drinks are prettier than the people taking the selfies. The store is located at the OC mix. Parking is super easy and grabbing a tea and walking around is an entirely different experience which I am a fan of. if you plan on coming here, make sure you set aside some time to walk around and look at the various independent shops. I never knew about this boba shop until I checked Yelp one day. The staff was friendly but mostly was working diligently to create and serve the drinks. Parking was also very ample. My go-to drink at most boba places is taro milk tea, just because it's my favorite flavor and because it serves as a great litmus test. Some boba places make taro milk tea very artificially: bright purple (artificial coloring), super sweet, and just not really capturing the real essence of taro. Not here! Sunright's taro milk tea tasted just like how you'd expect a natural taro drink to taste like. There were some taro bits in the drink, and the drink wasn't artificially colored at all. It was a very natural color. I asked for 75% sweetness and felt like this was perfect: wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and I could still taste the natural taro. It didn't feel like this drink was a sugary death, unlike how other boba places make their drinks. This was the best fruit tea I ever had! I am usually a jasmine milk tea no boba girl but I knew sunright tea uses fresh fruit and so I tried the grapefruit jasmine tea with lychee jelly and I'm obsessed! I have never drank a tea so fast before, kinda spoiled myself for dinner actually. The tea flavor was strong while the grapefruit flavor was also very prevalent. I loved the grapefruit slices in the drink because sometimes when my straw poked near it I get a burst of fresh citrusy lemony flavor. I sipped the creme brûlée boba milk tea and it's good it's definitely not very sweet like feng cha though. The boba was nothing shy of perfection, so soft and delicious. This tea studio is located inside the OC mix food and boutique hall. You'll have to park and look for one of the OC mix entrance, and then it's facing the court side in between Portola coffee and Birdie Bowl. While we waited for our take out dinner, my cousin and I were walking around and saw how there were people with bright tea drinks in their hands. We were on a mission to get some for ourselves and that is how we found Sunright Tea Studio. As much as I am grateful for the business being open during Covid-19, I feel like they could have done a better job labeling where it would be appropriate for customers to stand in line and the waiting area. When I got there, I kept a 6 feet distance from the person in front of me, and some random floozys walked right in front of me to go directly behind the other person. *Ahem* Social distancing!! I called them out!! I am in line, but maintaining my distance. They were like ohhhhh... Also I feel like the business can do a better job providing menus for customers to see while they keep their distance. I could not see the menu until I got to the register. For every customer/group this occurs with, there will be an even longer wait for all the people behind them. Just FYI - all of their drinks here are one size - 22oz. The cup is a nice quality thick clear cup. Probably expensive, and definitely not great for the environment. This does not affect their rating for me, just an observation. My cousin asked the cashier what their #1 drink was and was told the most popular drink is the Sunright Boba Milk Tea ($4.65). She said it was nothing special and it was pretty average. I was hoping that their top selling drink would be better than that. I had their Strawberry Smoothie ($5.25) because I thought the Cheese Foam from a photo on Yelp made the drink look pretty. It was cool and refreshing but I can't say I was impressed. This is definitely not Omomo. My honest opinion of the business is that their product tastes average and are a bit higher than average cost. I had such high hopes for this place as I had it bookmarked for a long time. I finally got to try it this past weekend. I ordered the peach oolong cream and hubby got the Sunright boba milk with (sub boba for grass jelly). The peach oolong has a very strong roasted taste. I got it 75% sweet and it was perfect. The cream is very thick and a bit salty so it was such a good combo. I highly recommend this. The Sunright boba milk tea wasn't anything special. You can definitely taste the tea and it's one of the better milk teas but hubby did wish he ordered something else instead. The one thing that I will have to point out is that for my drink one of the workers had trouble capping it and she used her entire palm of her hand trying to cap it. As most OC residents know Omomo has probably the best drinks in the area and we've been seeking for a place that compares or on par with it. So when a friend recommended this place we had to give it a try! DRINKS: In addition to an array of drinks/milk teas/smoothies/creamas they also serve their original Midori matcha soft serve. If I may suggest/recommend, always pair any of your taro drinks with the brown sugar boba. The black bobas literally bring the drink up to the next level and really complement the taro taste. I wrote a review for the Irvine location that just recently opened even though I've been going to Sunright ever since they opened in Diamond Bar and then Costa Mesa so this review is sort of long overdue. You can read my glowing review for the Irvine location in my profile, but this location is getting a 4 star instead of 5. The reason being that the structure of where people wait to get their drinks and order is a complete mess. Everytime I come to order, I have to ask at least 5 different groups of people to see if they are in line to order or waiting for their drinks. I get that this is located in the OC Mix which has limited room for people to wait for their drinks, but this location has another side to their cash register with an opening (towards the Birdies Acai bowl place) that people can stand and wait to be called so that there is less confusion with the line and where it is at. I love their drinks here, don't get me wrong - they taste the same, very consistent, and have a good price for the size and quality you get. But I am disappointed that this place makes it pretty stressful to stand and wait for your drinks as well as checking with every single person first to see if you may be cutting in line before ordering. read more

Excellent quality tea. I stopped by during the day to satiate my tea craving. There are different types of drinks, with only a few options within each type (view menu). I selected the Jasmine Green Milk Tea with lychee jelly, no ice and 25% sweetness. The tea was optimally steeped, a strong jasmine flavor within any bitterness from tannins. The drink was very smooth, which came from using real milk (organic available for surcharge). The lychee contributed some sweetness, and this paired with the 25% sweetness level was just about right for me. And a 0% sweetness level might also be quite tasty, if the lychee is still present. Very enjoyable, perfectly hit the spot and satisfied my craving, conveniently located near my work (closer than most other boba places in fact), as so I definitely will return. read more
