The people doing the work are great. I've only gotten pedicures here but they do a good job. However, the owner/manager is super pushy. She always pushes you add in more and more services. Once she kept pushing me to get gel and I said I didn't want it. They ended up doing gel anyway and I didn't realize it until it already was curing. Once she pushed me to upgrade from the basic pedicure to the next level up ($10 more) for telling me they'd do it for $5 more, then proceeded to charge the full amount. Then another time she told me AFTER the pedicure began that the price was actually $5 higher than what was on the booklet she had handed me. Add in all the "are you sure?" and more pushing....its just uncomfortable! I know I should just speak up but I'm not looking to stress myself out so I just put up with it and vow not to return. After a few months I'll think maybe it's better and try again...nope. So now I know I'll just go to a different shop from now on. This place is nice if you need a simple fill/ full set. I was charged $55 for this fill, almond shaped, kept the original length, & didn't have my cuticles cut. Although she was really fast (I would say 30/40 minutes), they don't have a lot of color options, even though there's a lot on the wall. I'm a darker color nail person, and had to pick this one for variety. Mai at Sunridge Nail Spa is the absolute best in town. I drive 30 to 40 minutes away depending on traffic just to have her do Mai Nails. She is the only one I will let do my nails. I have never ever been disappointed. She is a true perfectionist and takes pride in her work. Which I admire that because I am very picky. Also Pom and Moon give the best pedicures there. First pedicure of the season. We went on an evening and it was pretty busy so we called in prior (highly suggested) and were seated within 5 minutes of walking in. However, I sat at the pedicure chair for over 45 minutes for someone to come and do my pedicure (no one checked in on me this whole time). The person's pedicurist next to me finished and went to do a manicure for a person that came in way after me. Everything was super inefficient and felt like workers were not on a first come first serve basis. They reheated the water that my feet was submerged in 4x and my toes were raisins before anyone came and started my pedicure. Thought the pool of water was goin to overflow for a second. The quality of the pedicure was poor and rushed. They finished at a world record of 10 minutes so they can attend to other customers. Would give a 0 star rating if it was possible. A friend of mine went with me to get a manicure and she too waited for almost an hour and no one even bothered to check up on her. The lady even told her she was going to be next and lied to do some other lady's pedicure who came in 30 minutes after. She ended up leaving because waiting for an hour is inexcusable. When she was getting ready to leave, the lady said she's almost done but damage was already done. Two other customers complained and told the owner they'll just come by tomorrow and the owner told em that they'll be with them shortly but they still proceeded to wait. I have been going to see the fabulous humans at Sunridge Nail Spa for a couple of years now, and its about time I leave a review because I am honestly shocked that their Yelp score is only 3 stars. My guess is that its because the old owners, years ago, didn't do such a great job and since the business retained the name when Mai and Viet took over, they are recovering still from those poor reviews. Here is what I like about Sunridge, and why I will continue to go there: 1. The employees are LAUGHING, SMILING, TALKING, and are genuinely pleased to be together and at work. I've been to many salons where you can tell the technicians are not happy. Mai and Viet are good managers and bosses. 2. Always have new colors, new product. This is one of the reasons I STOPPED going to my other salon - old product means nails don't last as long and more damage to nails. 3. Parking is relatively easy since its in the Raley's shopping center - I don't drive around forever looking for a spot. Parking "far" isn't really that far. 4. The prices are fair for the quality of work, look and feel of the place. They charge what they need to in order to keep up to date on decor, cleanliness, etc. 5. The bathroom is SUPER CLEAN. IYKYK. 6. Ly, who does the lashes, brows, etc is amazing in her own right as the lash/facial/eyebrow lead at the shop. 7. Diet coke! :D Things that could be different but I overlook because everything else is so great: 1. The waiting time can be tricky if you come in at a busy time. I want them to be busy, because we all know how hard it is to find a good salon. Still, be mindful that if you walk in, you may or may not have quite a wait! Lastly, what pushed me over to write a review, finally, was the new diamond pedicure they offer. (There's a gold pedicure too, now!) Y'all, I don't think I can go back. It was blissful. My skin is incredibly softs, as are my feet. Pom gave the best massage ever. The new product smells divine, feels incredible on the skin, and I notice a difference in the how the product moisturizes the skin. Plus it is fancy looking! This will be my very first time making a review of having lashes done at Sunrise Nail Spa. It does not disappoint. I highly recommend Emly (Elsie), she does an amazing job! She was so helpful in explaining the different styles, inquired what I wanted and executed with the exact results I desired. 1. NO BURNING OR PAIN: She taped my bottom lashes gently and ensured I was comfortable and worked away. 2. GREAT SERVICE: I felt totally comfortable the entire time and unbelievably quick, it felt as if she only put 5 lashes each because she was so light in her hand, when she gave me the mirror and WALA, I had a full set of lashes! 3. BETTER LOOKING / BETTER QUALITY: The lashes look light, flutty and more natural. I choose classic as I preter a more natural look. Emly (Elsie) did just that! She did a great job choosing the length and curl for my lashes. I was 100% more satisfied. 4. NO BURNING OR DISCOMFORT AFTER: Emly mentioned the aftercare process. I was a bit timid as I normally get an allergic reaction to the glue. I followed her instructions and no reaction. Yippee! 5. LOCATION: Conveniently have plenty of parking. I don't know why this nail salon has so many negative reviews. I've been coming here on & off for the last 6 years & never had a problem. It's a typical nail salon, I don't expect above & beyond work here but I've always been pleased with my nails. The only negative thing I can say is that when my 5 year old gets her nails done, they ask her if she wants add-ons (of course she does) instead of me, the adult, so I get charged more. But. They are always very sweet to my daughter & make her laugh & feel comfortable. My wait is never long, even as a walk-in. I've had five appointments here, I always come on time and every single time, they made me wait for over an hour. While I'm getting serviced, I've seen people come in 5-10 minutes late, and the wife of the owner rudely tells them they lost their appointment; i guess it only works one way.
