Just had the worst pedi experience at fountain nail spa. Manicurist didn't file my toenails (even though I pointed out some jagged edges that needed to filed before polishing), didn't clean under my toenails, and didn't apply polish evenly. When I pointed at areas on my toenails that didn't look right and asked "can you please fix this?" manicurist rudely pushed my hand away. Wah ‍ Went home filed my own toenails, cleaned under the nails, and used a QTip dipped in fingernail polish remover to get rid of the blobs of polish left in the corners of my nail beds. read more

I've never had a proper pedicure before, but I loved my experience here! I came here with my fiancé for the deluxe pedicure. We were both walk-ins. The staff were really kind and accommodating. We wanted to sit next to each other so we waited a little longer to do so. I could tell they wanted to make sure we didn't wait too long. We didn't mind the wait, but I appreciated the consideration! The person who did my pedicure was Kim, and Kelly worked on my partner. Both ladies were very sweet. Kim was very thorough and made sure I was comfortable with temperature all throughout my pedicure. This was the first place I ever tried and they treated me so damn well! I was always scared of getting nails done because of the fear of it not being clean. This place is not only clean but relaxing. I also always go alone and they are great. I have probably gone over 10 times now and loved the service every time. I live in the Bay Area and every time I visit my partners family I come here. Oh man what is happening to the staff and quality of service at the place. I have been coming here for 4 plus years and this last year every staff has been rude and quality of care has been meh. I had the young guy last time and he was sooo not friendly. Today the staff was also harsh and completed my pedicure in 20 mins. This will be my last time going here. Not worth it for the price...too much competition around here, lots of great other places to go. The only reason I gave this review a one is because there was not a zero option. I have had a lot of nail experiences that are usually fabulous, but not here. I had the worst experience possible. I actually broke out in tears on the way home. I had my first experience with another salon with tips and powder. They did a great job, but they were far away. I was referred here by my daughter who said it was a great place. Right off the bat I simply could not understand what this person was saying but she kept saying "fill" so yea thats ok with me. I asked the difference between arcylic and powder but could not undertand anything so I thought ok not big deal. Next came picking a color ..did that..next a few minutes later I think she was trying to say she could not do a fill but had to do the whole thing over. I explained I had tips last time and asked if she has to place new ones. She said yes. Okay...fine..but she didn't. Then I needed to pick another color because the first one wouldn't work so I was trying to when someone else came and took the color pallete. Then came the rough handling of my hand. If it wasn't where she wanted it she just flung it around roughly. I asked to have someone come explain to me some things that spoke better english. She came but appartently I didn't understand her either. The first experience at a different salon was sooooooo much better. They explained everything, took their time and I loved it. This time was humilating because the place was full and its very small in there so everyone was listening. Im sure they were talking about me in their langage. After she was done she ordered me to wash my hands and annouced "you are done" no massage, no smile, no thank you etc. So I go up front asked for the manager. Another girl came. I was trying to talk quietly and explain that the entire experience was a nightmare. They didn't redo the tips, she was rough, I couldn't understand them etc and I hated the color but didn't dare complain, and I didn't want to pay the entire 45 because they didn't do the entire treatment. She stated yelling and saying "oh yes you have to pay" and walked away. I ended up paying 40 and left. When I got home I googled the entire thing with powder and it warns you that if you have space between you nail and the powder you can get a bacterial or fungus infection and you should go back right away. So great....I will never go back there. Im sorry people but go to this place at your own risk. BTW it has a dirtly look to it. I love this place! All the ladies are friendly and professional. Prices are decent. The music is calm and relaxing. The massage chairs feel great and really get into your muscles. The pedicure looks great! They clean up the edges really well. When I call in ahead of time, I can usually be seen within 30 minutes. read more

I'm so disappointed- I've been coming here for 7 years! They used to be so consistent and everyone did a good job and was friendly- it's changed to say the least and just keeps getting worst. I keep giving them chances but I'm done after today... last time I made an appt with the guy that works here and he didn't even do my pedicure, when I said I specifically made an appt he smirked and just kept doing what he was doing he's extremely rude and cocky! Today Tracy did my pedicure and was in such a rush the entire time not doing good work at all!I told her my nail has a small crack and asked if she could put a light layer of powder which I do often - she started cutting out the corner of my nail - a big piece I had to stop her and tell her that's not what I wanted. I got my pedicure done here for the first time yesterday 2/1. I paid $55 for the luxury pedicure in gel. Two things. 1- the gel on my third toe is coming off less than 24 hours later. And even worse, 2- the tech had dripped nail polish on my skin, and she used a nail file to remove it. It hurt when she did it, but then today I noticed the abrasions. I recently discovered this place and have been twice - once for a manicure and once for a pedicure. The place was busy both times, but I didn't have to wait more than a couple minutes. Both services were very good! Their staff were experienced, gave great tips, and were friendly and professional. The only feedback I have is that their place is really warm. I'm not sure if they have regular air-conditioning. They did seem to have portable kind of fans/coolers. I happened to be seated near the wall where I could see the thermostat reading of 80 degrees! This week I was off work and had to get administrative life task stuff done so I thought I would give myself a treat and get a manicure. It's been 10 years at least. This place was friendly, uncommonly accommodating, as I was a walk-in. However, the young man that did my nails was not friendly not a smile not a hello, nothing. Not a word. I asked at the end could I get another topcoat he said,"No, you don't need it. It's dry; it's fine." it chipped the very next day in the morning... I called to ask if this was normal. The woman told me in a very rude voice. They didn't guarantee regular manicures, only gel. A manicure should last 5 to 7 days not just one... We go to professionals for a reason. And be nice. I can not say enough about this Fab salon. It's been literally 3 years since I have started coming here and I feel a bit guilty I've waited this long to leave a review. The over all Salon is very welcoming , professional and a CLEAN establishment. Tammy (the manager) is the person you will most likely make first contact with and she's just a Gem! She is kind, respectful, listens , understanding and really leaves you feeling like you should when leaving a day of pampering. I want to note that she is the only one who's done my Pink and white Powder dip on my natural nails.( no tips are on my nails.). However , I won't dismiss that all the lovely ladies like May , Kim ect will do a amazing jobs if given the opportunity. I originally came here for just myself but now bring my pre-teen daughters who join me in monthly girls day . The nail service from full service to just a basic color change never disappoints. The whole staff at Fountain nails really do their absolute best to make you feel relaxed and over all satisfied . I wish the acrylic application was as good as the pedicure. But sadly it was not, I should've stopped her when she blobbed the superglue to my nails and I felt it seep under my nails... this has been the thickest acrylic application I've ever had. I have all the supplies needed for nails (I like to do my nails, for this reason...) and none of them worked. It took 2 days to remove just one hand and the saving grace was a literal rotary tool from my husbands work kit... I didn't go in to get them removed because of the trauma left on my nails and myself. I'll never get acrylic's due to this experience here. I have been here several times and service was fine. I do a low maintenance manicure and get my nails buffed. And a pedicure. Basic with a polish. Today, Thursday the woman in yellow with glasses, mask and a bit older chose to buff my nails hard with the little orange scratchy file instead of using the usual soft buffers they always use. I pulled away repeating a buff and she still rubbed my nails hard with the scratchy file. I always tip $20 bucks. I'm always polite. I guess she has an issue with taking care of people. This is my go to spot for pedicures. I've gone to them a couple times for manicures and it was good, but I usually do my own fingernails. I've gotten both their basic and luxury pedicure. The hot stones are amazing. Always at a perfect temperature and each person who's serviced me has had great pressure. I don't go to a specific person, but each time they've all done amazing. My toes always look great and I leave feeling very relaxed. The place itself, the tools, and chairs are always clean. Cleanliness is and this place passes. Pricing is pretty standard, they aren't the cheapest, but they also aren't the most expensive. I would highly recommend making an appointment as they can get pretty busy sometimes. read more
