Whenever her birthday month arrives my mom asks for a gift in the form of a pedicure. I found this local Orangevale business on Yelp and made an appointment for a mommy and me pedicure! After looking through their festive polishes, I chose DND Starry Night #781. What a beautiful gold shimmering gel color, just in time for Thanksgiving this month! I was really happy with my nail technician Polly, she took her time, great conversation, my nails were filed and trimmed nicely, clean, hot towel, massage and the paint was evenly distributed! My mom was also very happy with her birthday pedicure, a dark pink with glitter! Both of our technicians have been doing nails for 30 years and the name fits because our nails turned out perfectly! I am only subtracting a star, because they didn't go over prices or services beforehand and I was a bit stunned my basic gel pedicure was $50 alone and I'm used to paying less elsewhere. By far the worst manicure I've ever had. The employee blamed me for smudging the polish during the gel application. But it was clearly fabric imprint from her manipulating my hand on the towel covering the table. The whole place was disgusting, so dirty. And $40 for a crappy gel manicure with imperfections is a complete rip off. read more

I found this place by a fluke and i am soooo glad i did! I had Ann and I just love her! First of all I've been back only 3 times and she remembered EVERYTHING about me, I am a hair dresser and even I can't remember certain things about my clients.. Ok, on to the pedicure, usually you go and they give you a price sheet to add this and that and you feel compelled to purchase the most expensive so no one talks sh@t on you and to reassure you get a good pedi.. Perfect Nails you sit down and they do everything hot towel, callus remover and a massage .. now here's the best part.. every time I go anywhere else my feet are fabulous until a day or 2 later, my feet are perfect for almost 3 weeks!! And I'm a flip flop girl!!! Update: The owner contacted me after the review and invited me back. Thank you Ann I appreciate your customer service. My second time getting a pedicure at pedi nails and my last. I'm not really sure what was going on with it nail technician but she was falling asleep the whole time. I felt bad and waited way to long to say something. No cleaning of my cuticles, didn't take my old polish fully off and she was wearing old gloves. This would be a one star if it weren't for the fact another lady took over and my toes now look great. It was not a relaxing experience and I won't be back in fear of getting the same woman that I had to complain about. I was so nervous when she completely was missing my toes with the clear base coat. The owner or manager did apologize on my way out but I think it's important for others to be aware. Maybe before lunch visit would be best or bring an extra coffee in just in case. read more

This was my first experience at this nail salon and my last! I have never been spoken to in such a rude tone & questioned in a challenging manner by an employee as I did today!! I scheduled an appt for 4:30 and they still had customers sitting there: no problem! I could wait! But I think that's what set her off bc she insisted I sit and I said no, that I was ok to wait until my daughter and i could have it done together. I sat down and requested my luke warm water be hotter, my second mistake I guess. After I was attempting to adjust the massage chair she got frustrated and took the controller out of my hands and told me if I kept pushing the buttons I would break the chair, and that she would change it for me if I needed to. I'm feeling frustrated at this point but whatever! My daughters nail beds are small so she thought her nails were not clean and the main nail tech noticed us talking about it and asked if there was a problem. I asked if it was going to be cleaned up and while the main tech was explaining my nail tech intercepted by telling me she wasn't done that my daughters nails were too small and that they would be cleaned up , that she wasn't done but in a rude tone. To which I still calmly replied ok, just checking! I had to ask her to scrub harder with the pumice stone and I barely felt her massaging my legs but at this point I just wanted to be done. When she was done she told me "there's your flip flops" so I assumed she wanted me to get off the chair as they had people waiting for pedis. I started to move and she then proceeded to basically speak to me in a loud rude tone "you're gonna get up?!" I was so confused, said I thought you wanted me to put them on and she said "no! That's not your job! That's my job!" Her tone was the worst! I kept looking at my daughter like "am I getting scolded?! Did I hear her wrong?!" I was pissed but said "ok, thank you." And then she challenged my look by asking me very loudly "what's that look for?!" I don't shy away from answering back, especially if I feel like I'm being disrespected but I was also with my daughter so I said again "thank you!" She continued to challenge my look by asking me what my problem was! I have NEVER not tipped someone but there was no way I was tipping her!!!! It took everything in me to not stand up and start yelling at her for not being professional!!! I thanked the other manicurist and told the main tech I would never get a pedicure there again! I'm a paying customer and all she had to do was talk to me in a respectful way and this review would of never happened! I would of just not returned! She needs to learn her tone is rude and unacceptable!!!! If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! read more

My mother and I came here for "treat yo self" session. She's been feeling a little low since shattering both of her wrists. When we walked in the room felt like a sauna because these women are too cheap to use AC. We asked if they would be able to do two manicures, and even though there were 4 women working on one lady they told us it would be 15 minutes. While politely waiting one of the ladies told me to have a seat in one chair and "my grandmother" could sit in the other. I'm sorry but whatever happened to never guessing a ladies age? Do we just accept the low class trash that comes out of some people's mouths, while we are spending our hard earned money at their establishments? Your culture does not excuse the insensitive crap that comes out of your mouth! There are just some things you don't say to your customers... we walked out after that comment. read more

I started going to see Ann in 2004 when we 1st moved to Orangevale. I used to go frequently but due to neuropathy in my legs its not as often. But when I go I'm treated like a QUEEN. Ann, her mom and others who have worked 4 Ann do an amazing job. My husband goes every 6-8 weeks for a pedicure.
