My son says this place is "deluxe" and we are happily enjoying our late lunch. Chicken Katsu

Three stars = A-OK. And that's what this is. An A-OK teriyaki joint. The space is HUGE for a teriyaki place. It's nicely decorated and clean. A very pleasant place, in line with the Sunny name. It's family owned and operated, and service is quick and friendly. Sunny. The chicken teriyaki is good. I've had better, but I've also had much worse. The chicken is cooked perfectly--a touch of charring but not burnt. The sauce is okay. This partly where Sunny falls down a little because the teriyaki sauce is mostly sweet (but not overly sweet) and salt. Something's missing. Again, I've had better, and I've had far worse. The salad was all nice and fresh lettuce and some carrots. No gross wilted leaves in sight. The rice was perfectly cooked and fresh. Food prices are reasonable. Those who complain about the food prices should try making this stuff at home and see how that works out price wise. But drinks were crazy expensive. $2.29 for a fountain soda. And the Mexican bottled coke (12 oz size) was the same price. If I were in the area with a teriyaki craving, I'd stop here again. But I wouldn't make a special trip.

YUM. This place is hitttttin!! The lady was so nice that we ordered from, they had free water, the place was very clean. Something about their teriyaki sauce is so good! Honestly everything was bomb, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the rice was too. Other teriyaki places I've been too always have weird/ gross pieces of chicken I don't like and mine didn't here so I was actually able to eat every piece. Will be back for sure!!

I am crying eating my chicken yakisoba. Its so homemade level. Its not flavorful and so much sauce. Meanwhile my husband is so sad and about to cry with his spicy chicken teriyaki. There are less pieces of chicken than what I usually got for the same price. Really if its good, I dont care how many pieces though. The sauce taste so weird. Its not teriyaki sauce or the bad version of it. These would be fine to me if someone made at home, not professional restaurant level. One star for the ok customer service and one star for lots of food.

The salmon teriyaki was the best I've ever had. I have returned several times for the salmon. Delicious. I will be back.

Solid spot for teriyaki, just around 20$ for the beef and chicken combo, quick to serve and generous portion, great for a work lunch!

Yet, it's disappointing to say that we've been sourly disappointed the last 2-3 times we came here. Not sure if it's management change or something happened, but Nakagawa lost its magic with us. 1. The service has been terribly slow and just not inviting anymore. After ordering, we waited easily 35-40 min for the food. I know it takes time to meticulously prep rolls, but after 30 min of just sitting and waiting, you can't help but start feeling hangry. And this isn't just a one-time occurrence - this happened multiple times for us. 2. The bento box quality. I LOVE bento boxes - it was such a treat to dine on so many different Japanese options, like a sampler box of goodness. Ranging from nigiri to sushi, from tempura to the soup, bento boxes have a special place in my heart. Yet, I feel like Nakagawa's bento boxes have sadly missed that mark. The protein (chicken teriyaki/katsu) tastes old and oddly mushy, and the portions are quite small, just leaving me wanting more. Don't get me wrong - the fish is still good. Solid place for seafood, paired with a lengthy wait. But Nakagawa just lost its touch with us, and driving that 30-35 min trek is not worth it for us anymore.

Service was attentive as usual, small restaurant but well lit and more than enough room to be comfortable. The omakase set is such great value here. Super fresh seafood. The sake flight was an added pleasure that accompanied the dinner so well. Don't remember all the names of each piece :) but left very satisfied and anticipating our next visit soon!

It was light and fluffy and full of flavor. It came with a traditional cabbage salad which was very refreshing. The udon curry was right up my wife's alley, and I do like curry but I'm not the biggest udon noodle fan. It still was very full of flavor and delicious. Side note, the dressing or sauce that was in the table was let me say to die for. We put it on everything. If I had it on hand all the time it would probably be a condiment that I used on a very regular basis. The service was top notch and our server was very sweet and patient. We took awhile to look over the whole menu and there are so many things that I would come back for just to try. The only let down was the edamame as it is a staple that we usually order at any restaurant when available. They were very hot and cold and felt like it was a frozen edamame that was nuked in the microwave. The establishment itself was very modern looking with a very clean vibe. We will definitely be back. This is definitely a spot in lynnwood that needs more love from people. Then again, it could be packed all the time, but we were there very early on Mother's Day.

In short The vibe is all friendly neighborhood joint, but…read morethe fish (especially the sashimi) is excellent. Hard to beat this place. In long We've been meaning to try it forever and finally dragged our carcasses in here when we were coming back from an afternoon up north. Quiet Sunday night on Thanksgiving weekend, and we scored perfect parking and got a table instantly. So we're already in a great mood, right? It's a shoebox-shaped room with a few extra tables in one corner. Newish strip mall construction. You can come in from either end, which I would not have guessed. It's sparkling clean and well lit with some nice warmth to the lighting. Big flatscreens behind the sushi bar, probably tuned to the ballgame or the news or something. The menu feels comfortingly familiar. The usual apps, solid list of sashimi, lots of classic rolls and then a couple full pages of specialty rolls. Matcha for later. So far you don't feel like you're in crazy territory, though they do list hamachi collar as an all-the-time hot dish, which is cool. So many places run out of it right away and list it only as a special, but not here. The sake list is just enough--a couple of each type, some solid and reasonably-priced house options, a couple really nice picks. You get your sake right away and the miso doesn't take much longer. The takoyaki was delicious and beautiful. Lots of garnish, boiling hot, great flavor. Nice tako bits in there, lots of creamy filling. They garnish the seaweed salad with daikon and load it with cucumber. More places should do both of these things. The cucumber in particular enhanced the flavor a ton. Once the rolls showed up, things got better and better. The Love Hunter and the Amazing were both fantastic. Great combinations of flavors and textures, generously portioned and topped. We got some classic taki too, and that was a great contrast. I love it so much when places nail the classics and the modern. I got the deluxe sashimi dinner. For $36 this is such a value. The hamachi and the other tuna were both super buttery, the salmon had tons of flavor, and there were a couple other nice fish on the plate as well. It's great when you find a place you're super happy you tried, but this immediately goes into the rotation as an any-night sushi spot. Affordable enough you don't have to wait for a special occasion! Dig this place hard.

It is a smaller restaurant so it may be a good idea to call before going in for the dinner rush. I went on a solo outing here for lunch and was surprised that they have an all day happy hour for most of their operating days (excluding holidays). The happy hour offered a great selection of apps and a good selection of rolls! I opted to try the smokey roll which was on the happy hour menu. This roll featured smoked salmon on top which was very tasty. I also ordered the deluxe salmon roll which was also very good! I recommend requesting a side of spicy mayo for the smokey roll. Overall, I was super happy for both of my rolls and the price was not too bad for high quality sushi!

The cuisine has excellent seasoning. I chose two appetizers, Takoyaki and Hamachi Karma, and found both to be delicious. The Takoyaki had a well-balanced flavor. Yummy. The Hamachi Karma displayed both the fish and dipping sauce with wonderful flavors. The drizzle sauce and spinach on the plate seem to be intentionally included. They complement the dish altogether. I think both the recipe maker and the chef demonstrated great skill in their execution. I should experience different dishes next time. The restaurant was nice and clean. The staff were friendly, polite, and attentive to their customers. My green tea never ran out. I rarely ate at a restaurant without asking for more water or tea. Both nights, I enjoyed great food and excellent service. The first night, I thoroughly enjoyed ikura (salmon roe) with quail egg, ami ebi (sweet shrimp) -- love me fried shrimp heads, and a specialty roll -- black lava spider roll. The second night I ordered miso soup, yellowtail scallion roll, saba (mackere) nigiri, eel avocado roll and tobiko nigiri. On both evenings, I opted for green tea instead of an alcohol alcoholic beverage. Another reviewer commented that there is a brisk takeout app service, which was noticeable both nights I was there.
