Tried this out while on vacation in KW a week ago. Absolutely perfect. I got the Palm Breakfast. Eggs, bacon, avocado, roasted tomatoes, potatoes and toast. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the roasted tomatoes. It's small and we had six people in our party. They found a spot for us and the service was great. My wife got the sausage Benedict; also perfect. We visit KW one or twice a year. We will back to Sunny Eggs for sure. read more

Such a cute spot! Its tiny, there's maybe only 5 tables inside, and a wall-bar, so don't come in big groups. My husband and I were lucky enough to grab an empty table without a wait. The food was delicious, very fresh healthy ingedients. My only issue is the portions were small so we didn't exactly fill up. I wish the plates came with potatoes or a side item. The smoothie was delicious and perfectly made. Service was fantastic. Next time, I will order a side pastry or something else in addition to the main course. Very cute, friendly, place. Cozy place with good menu and healthy options. We love organic places! Had the mushroom kokotte. There were so many choices on the menu that I wanted to order more classic breakfast, but knowing I'd likely not have another opportunity to try the unique kokotte, I decided to go for it. Came here on a Saturday morning and it was not like busy but consistent. I was luckily sat at a table right away so I didn't have to sit at the bar tops by the door. After that the service slowed down. It took a while but finally my server came back to take my order. I ordered the Palm Breakfast. Food didn't take too long to come out, and once it did it was delish. Portion was good, I felt full but not stuffed. My only issue was the service and how slow it was. After I finished eating it took forever to get the check. Other than the service being slow the place has good food. In the midst of an openly fun community, there lies a quaint, delightful coffee shop with an amazing ambiance and an even better attitude. On a port stop from a cruise, I happened upon this great coffee shop without any idea of their political leanings, a real treat in Key West. The owner, Victor, was friendly and full of information, and made the visit that much better. After having a little conversation, he asked what we ordered, I told him just the coffee. He surprised me by bringing a croissant and 4 berry compote, telling me that next time, I'll want to order more than coffee. I couldn't say no, and I'm glad I didn't. Both were homemade, and as good as any I've had. I'll be back. read more

On a side note, I accidentally jumped the service line. No one said anything, but I got a few glares. My apologies! This is a quaint little hole in the wall (literally). Vasily is the server today and nailed it in every way a server can. I ordered their Nixon Smoothie and a chorizo Kokot as I had never heard of anything Kokot before I asked my editor to do some research. He came up with a village in Poland. Other than that, it is close to the French word Cocotte and as it does involve eggs cooked in a small dutch oven (cocotte), I'm going with that. I began with the Nixon Smoothie. Named after our 37th President, Richard Milhous Nixon, it was a delicious smoothie of Apricot, Orange, Almond Milk, Yogurt, Honey and Maple Syrup. Sans 18 minutes of recorded conversation (coincidence or just good food prep? You be the judge). I have to say that this was a delight on the palate in the balmy temperatures of Key West. It was light, hearty, and crisp on the palate. Moving on to the chorizo Kokot. As previously mentioned, this was the first I had heard of this; however, looking at the pictures on the menu, I had a good idea about what it was I was ordering. I was not disappointed. This lovingly prepared dish is made of three eggs cooked in a small "kokot" with Creme Fraiche, Dijon mustard, Chorizo paste and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Pyszny! One does not need to apply any heuristic to conclude that this is NOT a tourist trap. It is a place with GREAT food.
