We sat at the bar and ordered coffee which was a bit bitter. But that didn't really matter because the Blueberry-lemon Quinoa Pancakes and the Quiche Loraine were fantastic! The stack of pancakes were quite delicious and I couldn't stop eating them - I'd say they were a bit heartier than regular pancakes and they had sweet, plump blueberries a top and bb filing in the middle. The large leaning wedge of quiche had pieces of tasty ham throughout and its consistency was perfect. Next, we tried the key lime pie and it was one of the best we ever had. It had a very tall layer of merengue, lightly torched on top floating over a creamy, light key lime heart with a touch of tartness and sweetness, and a thin bottom crust. What made things really weird was a cook/manager (not sure who she was but she was a blonde lady) was saying bye to a group of her friends and very loudly declared "I hate Italians too". Beyond their routine of care and presence, they helped a customer who took a hard fall outside the cafe. Customers helped, too, but the waitstaff showed up with compassion, concern, ice and bandages. I'm sorry someone trip and fell hard, but it was wonderful to watch the care for this person and their friends. The fried banana was really good. My sandwich, though, was pretty boring. Still, it was a chill and peaceful spot to sit in the shade, eat lunch, and watch all the cool cars go by -- a nice, relaxed lunch overall.
