Then, we had to go through permit apply which was a bit slower than I expected. I understood that it is out of the company control but I wish the communication during this time could be better. Sunlux came out and determined that this particular outage was caused by a failed breaker, not a failed SolarEdge inverter. Sunlux corrected the breaker problem, and our system is now back online and producing. My concerns with SolarEdge remain. This is the largest of the five solar systems we have purchased, and we have experienced multiple issues with the SolarEdge system over the years. Most importantly, we received no push notification, email, or other warning when the system went offline and stopped communicating. We discovered the problem only after receiving an approximately $800 electric bill. When I called SolarEdge directly, I was told that they could not work with me as the homeowner and that I had to go through the installer. Fortunately, Sunlux ultimately came out and resolved the current problem, but SolarEdge's monitoring should have alerted us immediately that communication or production data had stopped. Our other four systems use Enphase equipment and have been more reliable and better supported. Based on our experience, SolarEdge's quality, monitoring, and direct homeowner support have been disappointing. On any future system, reliable automatic outage and communication-loss notifications will be an absolute requirement. I am happy with the solar system I got through Sunlux. In October of 2025, I realized that the IRS solar credits were set to expire early at the end of the year due to the spending bill congress passed in July. I contacted 4 solar companies, and 3 said they could get the job done in time. Sunlux had the lowest price by $9,000 - $30,000. I liked that Mike Valencia is an owner, so I knew I was not working with a salesperson who might not be with me throughout the process. I purchased a 16 panel, 7.36KW, 2 Powerwall 3 system. From contract signing to Permission To Operate (PTO) took some time, but we got the system up and in service before December 31st. It did take almost 5 months from contract to PTO. Southern California Edison took 2 1/2 months to give us PTO. We did have some issues with communication at first. It turns out there was a key employee who was going through something. Sunlux hired an additional person to help. We then worked things out and communication has been great since. I noticed other reviews that remarked on communication. As far as I can see, that is resolved. I developed a good, friendly working relationship with Michael Valencia, Guillermo Santomauro, and Jessica Delgado. I also got along really well with the installers and technicians who came to my house. The installation and permit process did not go perfectly, but Sunlux took care of everything to my satisfaction, and to the satisfaction of my city (and we had a very particular inspector). If I saw something I did not like, Guillermo worked with me to make sure I was completely satisfied. Sunlux working with me to insure total satisfaction is why I gave them 5 stars. My safisfaction includes the very fair price, a good, safe system, and a company/people I feel confident with going forward. On my first bill reflecting a full billing cycle with solar, my Edison bill was only $10. I won't really know how well my system meets my needs until I have the air conditioning going full force during the summer. If needed, I will have a couple more panels and even another Powerwall added. For now my system produces far more power than I use. The only thing I don't like is having Tesla Powerwalls because Elon Musk's behavior and actions are contrary to my values. Sometimes compromises have to be made. They are good batteries. My third project with Sunlux was the Tesl Powerwall. We had a solar installation at our old house, then we moved and our new home had a tiny solar array, so we added another 24 (I believe it was) panel system a couple years ago, We'll, we FINALLY got the battery backup and they did a great job. Price was clear, including upgrade options/pricing, and they worked with me regarding the installation location, etc. Unfortunately, the county required safety poles in front of the Powerwall because our RV travel trailer parks next to it ( even though there is no geometric possibility of hitting it with my trailer!), so they had to install them and call for another final inspection. I'm going to remove them since they are worthless! After everything was wrapped up we got the PTO and everything is working perfectly, but we have not yet experienced a power outage. But I'm sure we'll be just fine when that happens! I always recommend Sunlux to people I know who are considering solar or battery backup. After some thorough research I decided to hire SunLux to do a new solar system install on my home. I had an original Solar System installed in 2004 made in Germany but it was time to upgrade. In comparison to other companies, we felt SunLux had the best price, presentation, and overall comprehension in terms of what we needed. After interviewing 5 other solar companies including two of the largest in the country, I decided to go with Sunlux. I spoke with Mike and he was able to beat all the offers from the other major solar companies. He was honest and tailored a system that fit my needs. This company is very good at front end sales and terrible at monitoring and customer service post install. Customer now for almost 7 years. Our system was completely offline at one point for months and no one at the company alerted us. We recently noticed that power generation is way down and has been for months and again, there was never any alert from the company. We paid the additional fee for the power generation guarantee and recently after digging into our contract realized they have not fufilled their obligations under agreement. We've initiated a dispute process, and I'm worried this is going to require a lawyer. When dealing with them it's clear that post install customer service is an afterthought and no real team or process is in place to properly monitor systems and proactively address system issues. This is a sales and install company first and foremost, leaving their customers substantially unsupported afterwards. Find a company that will actually help you monitor and maintain your very expensive solar system or it becomes an even more expensive investment and you will regret it. read more

After writing my review below, I did hear back from the exact technician from Sunlux that had installed my panels over two years ago. He was very helpful, and provided me with fairly easy to follow YouTube videos. He also said if needed he would come back out in person. I am confirming that I have been able to reconnect my solar system to my new home network after following the self help video shared by the Sunlux installer. Two years in from my purchase and installation, I am having problems with connectivity and monitoring of my panels. Sunlux directed me to reach out to the manufacturer for support. The manufacturer stated it was the installer, Sunlux's , responsibility to provide support. My contacts at Sunlux have blocked my email after my initial contact for assistance.
