Mohr Power was great, always there for my questions! The staff was great! Who will pick up the warranty?

I was a 'solar orphan' (installer no longer providing service) and needed a repair. Jered from Mohr came out and did the diagnostic, contacted the manufacturer and arranged the RMA. Came back the next week when the new part came in with Zach for the install. Very knowledgeable about the whole system, friendly and worked quickly. Brittany at the office also really knows her stuff and had the call set up for success before they even came out. I recommend them and would definitely use them again. read more

I spoke with Mohr Power to do our solar in our new home. They are a small, family owned business who have been around for 30 years, and really give a personal touch. Jason, the salesperson I worked with was very personable and incredibly accessible (he had me call him at 9:30pm after I got off of work one time. They move fast, so you need to make sure that you are ready when you pull the trigger. Ultimately, my wife and I decided we didn't have enough information to move forward with solar yet, so we did not have any panels installed, but if you want a company happy to work with you, and to hit the ground running, Mohr is for you. read more

I agreed with what Steve said a month ago... the worst company ever ！！！ This company was good 20 years ago but now is awful! I got their system 20 years ago and it went well. So I did my second one with them last year but this new management is awful! I could never get a call back. Took forever to get an appointment but no-one showed up with no notifications and no apology. Really bad, not professional, not responsible, not reliable, not trustworthy!!! I hate it!!! They did my pool solar on a wrong place and caused my new roof to leak badly. I called thousands times to ask for relocation of the panels to other part of roof and I was kind enough to offer to pay them again. It took forever to get an appointment but no show. I really hate it! All they want just get money from new customers and have no service and manner for old customers at all. I'm really painful because other company can't touch the solar that's not done by themself. Mohr Power just totally ignore me and don't come to move the panel then I can't fix my roof which is brand new and they damaged it and leaked badly a few months ago when rained. I regret doing business with them badly!!! I might have to sue them but I hate to do that. I'm really painful! I wish there could be some kind of justice or organizations or company can help me solve this problem. How can they damage your roof and keep ignoring you? Where is justice in this world? Well lets start from the beginning. Found Mohr Power with a google search and we are so thankful! They first installed our pool solar which brought our gas bill down from 500 dollars a month to under under 100 dollars. Then our electricity bill was close to 800 dollars so of course we called Mohr Power. They installed panels for the home and our now our bill is between 50-80 dollars a month. They were so kind and professional. You will be so thankful you contacted them!!!! read more

The absolute WORST!!!!! This company appears to have been well run at some point but has fallen into the gutter. To get a return call is next to impossible. any form of effective communication is pointless. my contractor signed a contract with them for a full solar voltaic and solar hot water system for a new build in Los Angeles. Once the contract was signed the problems began. It has been a multi year project that they have had ample time to make sure things were installed correctly and maintain some semblance of meaningful communication with the client. we have bent over backwards giving them every chance to keep the communication ball rolling. It is impossible. They are stubbornly ignorant of what being responsible means. They then take offense when you call them out on it. The client is the bad guy. Any time you have a trade that points their finger so vigorously at the client, it is almost an iron clad guarantee something is deeply wrong. Another choice tactic they use us blaming me for how far away they are from my job site, which begs the question....then why did you take the job in the first place??? They show up in broken down old vans and get defensive at the slightest question asked of them. There is something broken with this company..utterly incompetent and could care less about you. Earlier this summer I noticed some water coming off of my roof, despite no rain. After going up on the roof, I discovered that my solar pool heater was leaking in several places. I called a number of providers, but Mohr was the only company that could solve my problem. While another provider suggested I had a "weird" setup and should replace my whole system for $3000 (and charged me a visit fee of $125 for no repair), Mohr was able to repair immediately on site for less than $350. I am very pleased with the repair and would recommend Mohr for any pool solar repair or installation needs. Everyone I dealt with in the office (Tammy) and on site (Shane) were great! read more

We needed more solar panels because we had purchased an electric car and converted it to an all-electric house. We called our first solar installer but they have become flakey, as are so many solar companies. Then we found Mohr Solar. I called and spoke with Jason Brooks who has been in the business for 13 years and is extremely knowledgeable. Jason contacted his installers and within a few days, they came to our home for the initial inspection. (Warning: government and electric companies have made the process extremely difficult.) But Mohr hung in there and their office manager Brittany and her assistant Amber did a great job of keeping us informed as to what was happening. Finally, the panels were installed but the impressive part is that so many of their employees have been with them a long time, they know their trade very well and it's a family-run business. The final inspection went off without a hitch and we're now run by solar. That's why they have 5 stars. read more

I am really disappointed in Mohr Power Solar for a variety of reasons- from the initial sales meeting, follow up and now a barrage of calls to sign me up. I initially met with them a few months back based off the recommendation of a friend. The meeting went fine except the fact that the sales rep said he could not give me any estimates or paperwork that day- I could just take pictures with my phone of his documents (strange?) He said he might be able to email them to me, I gave him my email. Days went by with no email. I called him, he said he didn't have my email and he wrote it down again. We did this twice until I called his office and gave it to his assistant (whom has since not emailed me as well). I wanted more clarification on the monthly payment if I financed. I called the sales rep and he said he really needed to come to my house to explain "the complicated paperwork." I am sure he just wanted to close me in person. I assured me I could understand whatever he sent so he took a week and sent over a PDF document of the most complex set of numbers that I have ever seen. He said there were so many variables and it depended on A, B, C.... He finally gave me an "estimate" of what I would pay monthly (this was for JUST the solar, not extra electricity). Crazy huh? So my solar plans go on hold for a variety of reasons. THEN the calls start. His assistant begins to call me almost non stop. She calls about 2-3 times per week for the first few weeks. I get in touch with the sales rep and let him know I am on hold, please no more calls. The assistant continues to call me. I answered and said that I told the sales rep to stop calling, she said "Oh he is just very busy and probably forgot to tell me" That was the WORST excuse in my book. I am meticulous in follow up and this made me so mad. Finally I answer one day and let her know to stop calling, I would be in touch if I needed further assistance. She lays off for a few weeks but now the calls have started again. She is calling twice per week, its infuriating!!! I figure I will post this review in the hopes that they will realize that their lack of communication when I needed it coupled with the over communication when I don't need it tells me that they are NOT the company I would like to work with. I should note that I got another quote during this time from LA Solar Group (very highly rated on Yelp). The rep came to my home while I was at work (very convenient), ran my numbers with me simply emailing him SCE bills and produced a detailed PDF that was emailed to me within days. I told him I was also on hold and they have NEVER called. I am so impressed. MOHR power continues to call. When will they get the hint? read more

Mohr Power came out to service a pool system that had been installed by the previous owners. After checking out the horrible state it was in, I replaced it with a Heliocol system.. I love it! The system works great and the installers were on and off the roof before I knew it.. great job! read more

Mohr staff was very professional and efficient. The removal of the old and installation of the new system were some cleanly. The system works pretty good in the summer but could warm the pool better. I think this is just a limitation of the technology. read more

Mohr Power Solar installed the 8-panel Heliocol solar system for our pool in 2012. Parts, panels, and labor are covered by the manufacturer for 12 years (panel clamps and gaskets are not included in the warranty). The system has been generally trouble-free. In mid-May, two header tubes on a panel developed leaks. I also noticed then that several panel clamps and gaskets were leaking. Mohr Power Solar was scheduled to come out on 5/18 to repair the leaks. The technician was to call to let us know he was on the way. I waited all day at home, no call. No call rescheduling the appointment that week, so I called Mohr Power Solar - 4 days later. Despite losing a day, I tried to be understanding when told that the tech was delayed on a job. They rescheduled the appointment for 5/24. Once again, I was told that the tech would call before coming over. Once again, I waited all day at home - no call. When I called back the next day to inquire why, I was told Brittany would call me back to reschedule the appointment. It has now been over a week, and she hasn't called me back to reschedule. After not being able to swim for weeks because of the panel leak, I finally repaired it myself temporarily with a drop of super glue and read on the Internet how to permanently repair it with a Heliocol plug kit you can buy on Amazon. I also ended up replacing 6 leaking panel clamps with parts I bought on Amazon. Great solar system, lousy customer service. Mohr Power Solar obviously doesn't stand behind the product they installed or care about the impact they have on customers when they miss appointments or fail to call customers back. read more

I was a victim of Zero Energy's bankruptcy. I was furious and frustrated that they had gone out of business. I wanted to get someone to confirm that they work was done well and that my panels were producing at the best capacity. Most companies only service their own systems. Mohr was great. The first response I got was from Mohr Power Solar. Desiree was A-MA-ZING. She was able to allay my fears about my solar​ panels. Her knowledge is incredible. The worst customer service ever . We have pool solar through them . Within the first year the system had a major leak , stopped working . They came out and replaced pipes . 6 months later more issues That informed us 85$ service charge so I said ok come fix it . When they come out and check it .. well now there is labor charges too for 15 min fix with no parts or anything . All the guy did was check the system , change timer setting and said it is working . The customer service lady - Brittany is so disrespectful and rude . I would highly recommend you don't use this company I would rate the zero is that was an option . read more

Here's an update on my solar pool heating system installed by Mohr Power. We enjoyed 89 degree pool temperature for most of the year, dropping in early November to mid 80's. On December 21, the winter solstice aka shortest day of the year, the rooftop system was providing heated water to the indoor pool! I did need to run the pool heater for about 45 minutes to get the temperature up to 85 degrees, and then did my daily swim. Today the pool temperature is 83 degrees with no added heat from pool heater. read more

I was a victim of the Sungevity solar bankruptcy. I lost my contract for service and monitoring. I went to Mohr for advice. The staff were all very helpful and professional. My system has been working since late 2010. I believe we were borderline on having a solar system installed, but the deal and installation was great. If I went back and really looked I was paying at least 1200 to 1300 a year for electric power. I had said for years don't just heat my water, RUN my house. I do now. I send Edison twenty dollars a month and usually get a check back for at least half or more. read more

In April 2012 we had a salesman from Mohr Power come out to our home to discuss installation of a solar system to drastically reduce our electric bill. He reviewed some of our electric bills, which are always high; I am heat intolerant, so the house stays below 70 degrees; and on the care program. By the way our home is almost 4k sq. ft. Mr. Michael Rocky St Pierre explained to us that we would be able to take advantage of the hero program to install enough solar panels to completely cover our winter usage and drastically reduce our summer usage, to the extent that we would be receiving credit with SCE from the winter that would more than compensate for the summer. When you have solar, SCE bills you once a year and they give you 20 days to pay it; our electric bill came in at $5,600.00. Since our installation I have had 3 other companies come to my home to try and help me fix this issue, but found that Mohr Power maxed out the amount that the hero program would cover. The first thing out of all their mouths was where are the rest of your panels? I allowed them to review our paper work and hands down they all said you got severely hosed; you were over charged per panel as well as the installation of the panels. I spoke with Mr. Mohr regarding this matter and even sent him an image of the immense electric bill, he apologized for not returning our many messages since the system was installed. Mr. Mohr also told me that he would like to see what can be done, so he would be sending out his best representative. Further more he stated that there was no room on our roof to install more panels, which is kind of funny that all the other homes in our neighbor hood have panels front and back on all of their roofs. Surprise, surprise, surprise no one has called us back nor come to our home regarding this mess. At this point in the game our system that has put us in the hole for $21,336.00 doesn't even cover an 1/8th of our usage, so not only do we face paying that off but the intense SCE bill as well. read more

This year my electric bill went way up because of Edison new rate. I thought about installing solar and talked to a few installers. At this point 5 installers to be exact. Jason by far is the most professional. He knows his stuffs, explaining to me what the different options I could have. Differences between the brand of solar panels. We spent about 1 hour but most of the time, it was spent on going through best option for me and talking about potential usage changes. I haven't decided on the installer to use but I feel it's important for me to leave a review for his professionalism. I have sales people who came in and would not leave. Also those who did door to door sales, giving me crazy prices. Do not open your door to those solar panel solicitor, they are priced 30% more anyone else and they treat you like an idiot. read more

When we called Mohr for our annual maintenance on our solar hot water system, we were offered the opportunity to replace our (very) old system with a new one at an attractive price. The work was scheduled and completed in a timely manner. The old system was hauled away and they cleaned up after themselves. We've been a customer for over twenty-five years and they do not disappoint. read more

After spending hours worth of research trying to find the best solar company I had to look no further after finding Mohr Power Solar. Last summer my electric bill was between $500 to $1000 every month now my electric bill is nothing!!! I actually have a negative balance. On top of finding them to have the best price they offered the best options for financing that didn't screw me over in the long run which we found out to be a huge blessing in that we are now selling our house and have no issues at all. This company had hands-down the best customer service out of all the other companies that I spoke with. From the time they came out to my house to give me a quote all the way until their final checks and checking up with me after everything was done and getting my first electric bill they have been second to none! I am so thankful for everyone at the company that made the process so easy for me and my family they were quick and extremely professional. The salesman Frank was professional and honest, then I spoke with Mory the field manager for installing time frame, and he sent Larry to install and it was only 1 hour plus the service call and he was done! We installed a swimming pool early this year. I got three quotes for solar heating, and Mohr was slightly less expensive than the second best quote. Mohr was recommended to me by a contractor I trust, so it was a no brainer. We are very happy with the system so far. With temps in the mid 70's the west facing rooftop solar heats the water to the mid-high 80's by early afternoon, and stays there well into the evening. So far there have been no problems with the system. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that we haven't had the system long enough to see how it holds up over time. read more
