I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

Sarah is the nicest and great worker has been my only contact and she is not a technician. I requested a pre site visit to review the job and draw up plans and I was told it is billable. So no pre site visit was ever completed. So removal went well. Install is a disaster. We are now 5 days in and I have no working system. I had 2 inverters and wanted to go to one. I was told the Tesla inverter could do that. Today the team removed my 2 old inverters and mounted the Tesla inverter. They then went to the panels and there was no Tesla MCI to connect to the panels. 18 of my panels might not be compatible with the Tesla inverter. 1, I do not have a building permit. This work is being performed while it is in process. 2. There is no install plan. Every time the installers came I had to be project manager. They did not know I was going to 1 inverter. 3. Even when the inverter was in the truck the team did not know I am going to one inverter. 4. My old inverters have been removed and are not usable. Save yourself my pain hire a reputable solar company.

Through it all, our sales contact, Jason Coolman, was patient and knowledgeably answer our questions as they came up. Everyone at Solar Technologies that we worked with was great. They made sure that things went smoothly and on time. We are thrilled with our new solar system. Solar Technologies has been a Bay Area Sunshares vendor for many years and a lot of other reviewers sound like they're as happy as we are. Down the street from us, a large cluster of neighbors hired Solar Technologies and I have only heard good things from those I've spoken to.

Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. After some back and forth with their customer support, they remotely assessed that the inverter failed and they would install a new one for a reasonable price. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. Jose is an excellent employee and my mom had a great experience working with him.

Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. There were hardware glitches after installation, but the Got Watts team reliably spotted them - without me realizing there was even an issue - and sent teams out to ensure my equipment worked as promised. Years later I noticed some leaks through my roof where some phase 2 panels were installed. I notified Got Watts and they sent large crews to my home to rectify the issue over several days. This was no small fix. They probably spent vastly more to rectify the leaks than they did to install the panels to begin with. No one likes to have problems with an install. But, it means a lot for a contractor to honor their commitment and spend vast sums to honor their warranty, and their word, to their customer. I've had "good companies" make promises they wouldn't honor once the initial check cleared. Got Watts was true to their word and treated me in a dignified manner that is rare these days. Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions made the entire solar process smooth and enjoyable. From their top-notch customer service (Alessandro is awesome to work with!) to their competitive prices, quality equipment, and clean & professional installation by Carlos and his team. I couldn't be happier with my solar panels and whole home battery backup system. I have already referred Sunlight Electri-Cal to some of my friends. Throughout the process Alessandro handled the sales side of things while Carlos and his team handled the installation. Both were easy to work with and super responsive, they even took evening calls. I felt like I was working on a project with my friends. Sunlight Electri-Cal focuses on customer service and quality equipment/installations unlike other big company solar providers. Alessandro and Carlos handled everything throughout the process, there wasn't much required on my part. Everything moved quick, the only delay in the process was waiting for our permits. Understandably Sunlight Electri-Cal didn't have control of this timeline, however they felt bad and found another perk they were able to give us to make up for the 2-month waiting window. As soon as the permits came in, Carlos got us scheduled for install within 2 weeks. He took good care of us during the installation, he made sure everything was installed well and looked nice and clean. I was impressed with how organized and professional the team was, they really have this process down. After installation Carlos took the time to go over everything with me and show me how to use the apps to view and manage my system. It only took about 2 weeks for the final inspection and PG&E sign off shortly after. I've had a few questions after going operational and both Carlos and Alessandro have responded right away and helped address my questions. I couldn't be happier with the services Sunlight Electri-Cal provided, I had 3 other quotes, and Sunlight had the most competitive pricing for the system we needed. I have installed solar panels before over the years in several houses, and my experience with Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was beyond expectations. I got quotes from other well-known companies, but Sunlight came to my house, sold the best equipment, was not the most expensive, and promptly completed everything they said they would, whether paperwork or showing up for the job or coordinating with the roofer (if you can do them both at the same time, do it!). My roofer was so impressed with them - they use the best devices to mount the solar panels and cannot leak. Got some downpours a month ago, and it's tight. AHS was the most reasonable of the four companies I got quotes from. Meo was communicative and good to work with. There were some issues with timeliness and communication with his installers, but they were relatively minor. Thien, the representative who commissioned the system and met the city inspector, was a gem. I definitely recommend this company.

The cost for both the 10.1 kW and 12.4 kW systems with two powerwalls each for two properties made complete sense even before applying the 30% tax credit. Can you say all you can run AC in the summer? If you're shopping for solar and want excellent value without any of the usual markups, we highly recommend Nabu. I'm happy to share I referred brother to install solar with Nabu. He was very reluctant, but eventually came around. He got his 10.1 kW system with two powerwalls installed earlier this year so he missed out on the 30% Federal tax credit. However, he's still very happy he did it. My roof is difficult to access and they had to come back several times with different ladders but they never gave up and the weren't ever not confident that it could be done easy. Finally the right tools were located. The team was very professional. The install went very well and caused no damage to the roof or my house. The service afterwards has also been great. This is a great value with no cost upfront. PG&E is naturally trying to claw back some sort of a pay increase but so far has been honest at true up. They just increase the price for gas. 5 stars. My experience with Collin was frustrating and confusing. I initially spoke with him about…read moredisconnecting and reinstalling solar panels for an upcoming roofing/expansion project. After learning about the expansion, he strongly encouraged me to meet Benny, a general contractor, because he said Benny was very competitive. I was already in the process of selecting contractors for the expansion but had not signed a contract, so I agreed to let Benny inspect the project and show me how competitive his proposal would be. However, I did not agree that Benny would receive the expansion project, and my main reason for the introduction was still the solar-panel work. I specifically told Collin that Benny did not appear interested in doing only the solar project. Collin assured me that the solar work would have nothing to do with whether Benny received the roofing or expansion work. Based on that assurance, I continued the process and asked Benny to prepare a contract for only the solar portion. When Benny stopped responding, I asked Collin whether I should find another solar contractor. Collin responded, "We can do it," and agreed to contact Benny about preparing the contract. Benny later informed me that the solar price had actually been offered with the expectation that his company would receive the entire addition project. Since I wanted only the solar work, Benny declined the job. I forwarded Benny's response to Collin. Collin apologized for the confusion and said he would call Benny the following day to sort it out, but I never received another update. The main problem was that I specifically asked whether the solar proposal was tied to the larger expansion project and was assured that it was not. I relied on that assurance and lost valuable time. Clear disclosure of the condition from the beginning--and a final follow-up after promising to resolve the issue--would have prevented this experience.

The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.
