*** good for a sweet tooth stop, good for breakfast all day *** ENVIRONMENT This tiny shop is located on a corner of a plaza in Downey. There are a few really great small businesses in this area. Please support them all! SERVICE The older man who assisted my girls and me was nice. He offered to reheat my ham/cheese/jalapeño croissant three times. He wanted me to eat it right away I guess. Lol. He was a bit soft spoken, thus, muffled under his COVID-19 mask, so I unfortunately had to have him repeat a few times. First world pandemic problems, right? MY FAVORITE PART... Several choices for donuts and muffins. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Prices aren't clearly labeled. The usual annoying pandemic stuff... not understanding the guy under his mask. THE GRUB The donuts were a hit with my girls. If they weren't soft, they would definitely let me know. My croissant was giant! It was very tasty. Of course, I would choose it again if I was in a ham & cheese mood. PARKING Ample, free parking in a lot with other businesses. TIP Bring cash. Otherwise be prepared to pay a $.75 fee on charges to a card of less than $8. OVERALL The croissants are really good. They'll heat it up for you if you'd like. They have a new milk tea flavor - vanilla green! | Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Environment: 4 | Price: 4 |

Literally don't get the ice coffee it's a** in a cup tastes like water down coffee with a hint of sugar. The only thing that was good was the breakfast sandwich. Save your $5 for a Starbucks instead ;)

This donut shop has alot of stuff going on . You can get any breakfast item you want. Donut , bagel, crossitant and the best breakfast sandwiches. The staff know their regulars for sure . As soon as they walk in they are getting their usual items ready . I had the breakfast bagel sandwich only and enjoyed it alot. It had egg , cheese, ham and bacon.

Venue: beautiful, clean, and spacious with plenty of seating for families and friends to gather comfortably. It's conveniently located inside a shopping center with lots of parking available, which made our visit even easier. Ambiance: We absolutely loved the ambiance! The mariachi music playing in the background truly brought the whole experience together and perfectly represented the spirit and name of the location. Food: everything was fresh, delicious, and perfectly balanced in flavor without being overly sweet. We ordered the chocolate croissant, Abuelita's rosca, elote fino, and a fried pulled pork empanada with green sauce. Every item was flavorful and satisfying. The café de olla was warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweet. Overall, my family and I had a wonderful experience and truly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be returning for more pan dulce, delicious food, and maybe even try one of the cold brews next time. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for great Mexican bread and pastries, this is definitely the place. However, on Mother's Day (May 10th), I decided to try their menudo for the first time and purchased 3 orders. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The menudo was extremely bland and seemed to be missing basic seasoning like salt and oregano. Normally, bland food can be fixed at home with a few spices, but the bigger issue was the large amount of grasa (grease/fat) in the caldo. The grease was very dense and excessive. I tried removing as much as possible, but there was still too much. In fact, I had to serve my mother the menudo without the broth because of how greasy it was. My recommendation: stick to the bread -- it's great. As for the menudo, maybe this was just a one-off experience, so others may want to give it a try for themselves. I personally hope they improve the recipe because it's difficult finding a good Sunday morning menudo spot in the Downey area.

I've ordered up to three dozen tamales at a time and never had an issue. The staff is polite, they greet you when you pay, and that's all I need no need to chat about their weekend or personal life. I'm there for the bread and tamales, and both are consistently fresh and delicious. This is definitely a regular stop for me! Rated by a TEAMSTER

I had been to the one in Laguna Niguel and this one in Little Tokyo is more spacious, with an area where you can eat. I bought an oyako pork shumai, curry pan and spicy curry pan. The shumai was like dumpling filling in a bun. My faves were the curry pan, which were super flavorful and vegetarian. The spicy curry one does have a kick (great for my husband), while I prefer the regular curry as I can't handle spice. Wish I had one closer to me!

You turn right after you walk in, and there it is, tucked away in a quiet corner. I almost missed it but I am so glad I didn't! The place feels super cute inside. They have this cozy little setup with natural lighting and wooden decor. The seating space is tiny with a small amount of seats ,so depending on the traffic you might have to grab your stuff and go. But that I think is what makes it special. Prices feel reasonable for what you get. They highlight using Hokkaido flour in their items with no preservatives, so it will only last about 2 days. I scanned for what was left since I went around 3pm where most of the items were already sold out. I chose the salt and butter bread since it looked fresh and simple. The crust has this nice crisp bite and the inside stayed soft and fluffy! High quality all around. After tax, it came out to be about $4, pretty good for what you get. Even thought it was near closing time, the staff was really friendly. They smiled as they took my order and answered all my questions I had about the menu. That's how I found out about their flour! It felt welcoming as I did not feel like I was just a customer, but a friend. If you're in the area I defintely recommend checking them out! They have many locations from Anaheim, Honolulu to Little Tokyo. The whole experience just hits the spot. Nothing complicated, but solid baked goods in a nice setting.
