First, if you are looking for a new pair of ski boots you simply must come here. Matt King is a boot wizard. He listened to how I ski and took everything into consideration and had me try on one boot that he then custom fit to my foot with heat and the right insert. I have arthritis and he made the boots perfect for me. These boots are cream of the crop and I absolutely love them. Second, I bought Look bindings with Matt's help as well. This weekend I was in a crash involving my knee and the back binding was twisted out about 2 to 3 inches. So much so that my husband thought they were broken but that is exactly what they are designed to do, give you some room in a crash so you don't seriously injure yourself. I am convinced that if my ankle hadn't been allowed to twist those inches I would have torn something instead of just having a bad sprain. I will never not ski with them. The Alpine Haus is the real deal and chances are very good that you will have a better experience with your equipment and the right clothing for YOU specifically rather than gambling with online ordering. Ashley is so knowledgeable and will suit you up with exactly what YOU need. Plus she has an eye for style. Josh is a boarder and back country guy. He is a wealth of info for local trails. Drew and Rachel are the owners and have built something great here. You can tell they actually CARE that you get set up with the right stuff. FRED! Fred can handle ANYTHING when it comes to ski tuning. My husband had a deep gouge in his skis from a rock and Fred fixed it like a boss. These guys are a community gem and I hope they're around forever!

There isn't a parking garage but that doesn't seem to bother me. It does have a food court and also plenty of restrooms. On weekends it can get pretty busy which is actually a good thing considering malls have become less popular over the years. I still prefer to shop in person than online for most things. As far as cleanliness, they do a great job of keeping this place clean. It's not a huge mall by any means, but it does have a decent selection of stores and is a great place to come and pass the time away.

I was unable to even tell if the small screw was Phillips or regular so I went inside to see if they did repairs. The person there at the time took a look, said no problem, and fixed it, cleaned the lenses in a few minutes. When asked how much I owed, he said nothing cause it was an easy fix. Game shops seem to either have no space to play a game or they have lots of space with no clear instructions on when/how the space can/should be used and by whom. And all of the shops we visited while in town were struggling with identity crisis. As for Uncles: Good: Board game selection is better than the other shops we visited in town Bummer: Not a cafe and no obvious place to play a game, so likely intended as strictly retail rather than a gaming space. (No harm no foul...just offering an observation for the advantage of others) Bad: Nobody offered to help (employees stayed behind the counter while we were there). Odd: Organization/layout and display shelves were a challenge. Some areas were clearly organized and others less so. Just when I started to think I was understanding the organizational scheme, I'd find a game that obviously belonged with a group of others on the other side of the store. Just my opinion, but there is enough selection here that an alphabetical layout scheme would probably make sense. Suggestion: Pick an identity: Toy store or game shop? Gone are the days of the bizarrely mixed toy department in the basement of the local sporting goods store. Board games have moved beyond classification as "toys" and into the realm of being a true hobby all its own. If Uncles decides to focus up as a game store, consider dumping the little kid toys and leaning heavier into collectibles loved by most gamers (e.g. Funko, Iron Studios, Superhero/Fantasy/Sci-Fi stuff, etc.) Parking: rough. (Seemed as though downtown paid street parking was the only option.) Pricing is pretty standard for brick and mortar...a touch higher than you can find online in most cases. (I call it the "Instant Gratification Tax.") At the end of the day, I came away feeling as though the shop might be run by a pair of contentious siblings...one who loves modern board games and the other who is convinced that kid's toys are the way to go. Combining them in this small a space was OK in the '80s but now is just confusing for both groups.

Parking sucks. I was there for less than three hours today and paid damn near $7 to use the ramp! I know they have a validation scheme where if you get three validations you get a watery discount, but it's just too much work. Just gimme the first hour free huh? Full validation for paying customers? Anyway... it's a bitter pill to swallow since coming downtown already comes with its own headaches. But I digress.

Several technicians were standing in the lobby and at the counter and had multiple opportunities to acknowledge customers. I decided to give them some grace and browsed the frame selection. Unfortunately, the selection was very generic and the same cookie cutter brands you see everywhere. No independent lines, nothing unique, nothing that felt curated. After nearly 25 minutes of browsing, I still hadn't been acknowledged. As I was preparing to leave, another customer walked in and experienced the same thing... standing awkwardly in the middle of the lobby waiting for eye contact or direction before eventually sitting down looking just as uncomfortable as I felt. The overall experience made me feel like a number, not a customer. It's disappointing to see large, doctor-owned optical chains taking over while the personal service and expertise that used to define this industry continues to disappear. I will not be returning.

(this is 90 miles from home and third trip) eyes retested, yes, numbers wrong, and owner became defensive said, NO, he never refunds money, we said, the error was done by your staff and my eyes would have been ruined by your error. He offered a "free" diabetic exam... really, I'd trust you again, NO WAY... finally yelled, he'd send a check. If this is not received we will take this con to court as he and his staff are incompetent and need to be shut down. DO NOT every use this facility for eye exams as they will ruin your eyes and then blame you for their error.

I'm very thankful that Jamie helped us with paperwork, provided feedback, cleaned the pile of glasses, and was so patient with us. It's nice when a business that sells glasses understands how important it is that we don't have a limit of how many pairs we could try on or make us feel rushed. I want to add that my teenager noticed how the glasses were organized and merchandised. They were merchandised by shape, price, brand, and styles which made it super easy to shop. We have visited other stores prior and honestly it was so hard to shop it because it was only merchandise by brand. Those little charts that help you pick out the best frame shape for your face shape didn't go unnoticed. It was helpful, but then we decided to break the rules and try on all the shapes. When it was time for us to wrap things up and check out, the team helped us narrow down which ones were better. :) not to forget, Jamie broke down what I was being charged for vs. what my insurance was covering. It was super easy to understand and know that I was getting a great buy for our glasses combined. I know that If we were on a tight budget, Jamie would have helped us pick out the frames that were in our price range. However, I'm one that picks out the glasses then worries if the price after insurance would be within budget. I was here about 2 years ago purchasing my other pairs of glasses, and by far there has been a huge improvement in service. I don't even remember who helped me last year...
