While poking myself in the eye is not something that I would recommend to anyone, the entire team at Blink Eyecare were incredible, and I am grateful! I originally was turned away from another local eye clinic when trying to get an appointment via their triage line, and then in desperation, walking in, both receptionists there were brusk and borderline rude, making it seem as if it was a favor to get me scheduled for later that week. My issue was much more time-sensitive; I had lacerated my cornea. I ended up going to Providence Urgent Care in Spokane Valley, and they were also exceptional. They got me taken care of to the best of their expertise, then ended up getting me an appointment later that morning at Blink. The physician I saw at Urgent Care told me how great everyone at Blink Eyecare is; he shared that it is where he and his family go. Everyone from the receptionist to the optometrist whom I saw was kind, caring, professional, efficient, and made a less-than-ideal situation much better. They took care of me quickly and explained everything clearly as they addressed my needs. They assessed my injury, cleaned my eye, and were able to provide a contact lens band-aid with medicine to help heal my cornea. The optometrist communicated with me throughout the entire visit, and the receptionists scheduled me for a follow-up appointment 48 hours later. Once again, everyone was fantastic at the follow-up visit, and I can tell from all interactions that Blink Eyecare is a terrific business and service within our community. read more

The good: Everyone was incredibly friendly! Every interaction I had from the front office staff, to the technician who started my exam, to the doctor, and the woman who helped me pick out glasses, was pleasant. The customer service was genuinely excellent. The not-so-good: Before my appointment, I was told they couldn't provide an accurate breakdown of what my insurance would cover until I arrived. I have good vision insurance, and my annual exam should only require a copay. While the exam itself was covered with the copay, I was also charged $100 for a contact lens fitting. At every previous optometrist I've seen, that fitting has been billed to my insurance and covered, so this was an unexpected expense. The doctor also recommended dilating my eyes. I mentioned that previous optometrists have told me my pupils naturally dilate enough that it usually isn't necessary. He said he'd like to dilate them at a future visit just to be thorough. I then asked whether they offered retinal imaging instead, since I've had other offices include that as part of the exam. They do have the machine, but I was told it would cost an additional $40. Overall, I had a positive experience with the people and felt well cared for during the exam. However, I left feeling like there were several unexpected add-on charges throughout the visit. While the staff was wonderful, the overall experience left me feeling a bit nickeled-and-dimed, and unfortunately that makes me hesitant to return. read more

This was my second visit to Blink and I came to see Dr Anderson with some serious eye issues. Pain in my eyes and blurred vision. My PCP had sent me to an in house eye doc and I just hadn't felt good about the care I received. Didn't trust the quick exam. Dr Anderson always explains what she is doing and answers every question. She double checks her work so you know it's the right prescription. I felt so much better leaving that appointment with a new script, a reason for my eye issues that made sense and the feeling that I had been cared for by a doctor that was really concerned for my eyes. My family has been seeing Dr Anderson for years, and now I know I will never go anywhere else! Phase 2 of the eye appointment at Blink is choosing new glasses. This year I tried on everything. I had the most wonderful personal shopping associate: Jaslynn. She gathered glasses from all around the room and I tried on almost all of them. It was so much fun! Sometimes we would get extra options from other associates (hi Sarah ) which really helped narrow it down. Honestly, shopping for glasses here is a joy. So many to choose from, every color, shape, style you can imagine. And if you think after 50 you cannot wear sparkles - Jaslynn says no, you can wear anything! What a fabulous experience! I saw Dr Makadia and I'm so happy with my experience. I called several weeks in advance and they had all my insurance co pays ready for me that day! Such great customer service at the front desk. Dr Makadia did such a thorough exam of my eyes. He also helped me understand some things I was confused about regarding the health of my eyes. Blink continues to provide excellent service. I recently had a yearly diabetic eye exam, which was extremely thorough. I even bought new prescription eyewear, although I didn't really need any! I have purchased 5 glasses with Tim Camphouse's assistance He is exceptional at what he does. He provides excellent customer service and is an expert in his craft. He got to know me as a person and my style. He was attentive thorough and made sure I was 100% comfortable before making any decision. He even asked me if I wanted a second opinion on any choices we made and each time his recommendations and our choices were validated as the right ones He follows thru after an appointment. I was really not impressed with this company. I went in for an exam, making it clear I was on a strict budget and only wanted to do what my insurance covered. I walked out $225 lighter out of pocket, besides what insurance paid. Now, this was mostly my fault, as I trusted the saleswoman when she said I needed certain things or that the other place I was going to go to wouldn't be able to warranty frames. When my glasses came in, weeks later, I couldn't see out of them. I returned for an additional eye exam, and we found that my prescription was correct, but I still couldn't see out of the lenses. After sending in for a replacement set with a lower prescription, it was better, but still nowhere near acceptable. I returned after a few days of allowing my eyes to adjust, and as I was waiting for the optometrist, one of the receptionists came over, looked at me for a few seconds, and then asked if she could adjust my glasses. Turns out, the prescription was correct, but the tilt of the glasses was wrong for my eyes. She said it's pretty common, and a simple fix. Two seconds in the hands of a receptionist eliminated three weeks of incompetence from this shop. She is the sole reason I gave two stars, and not one. I've been to many optometrists, and this was by far my worst experience. I have calcium buildup in my eyes, and my retinas are in danger of detaching, both of which can cause blindness if not properly addressed. These facts were only brought up when I asked if they were still an issue. I'd expect more from medical professionals. read more

They follow COVID protocols very carefully and I really appreciated that. This is a horrible company. The entire staff was rude and went out of their way to make myself and my daughter not feel welcome there. When I had questions, the company made me feel like I was a bother and nuisance to them. The doctor spoke to me with arrogance and as if my tiny mind couldn't comprehend the information she would give me. Do yourself a favor and stay away! I have really difficult eyes. I have damage from glaucoma, and I have never had a pair of glasses that didn't hurt. Dr. Makadia is the first optometrist whom I have ever had who took the time and had the patience to fit gas permeable contacts so that I could see well. Jana was incredible in trying to fit several pairs of glasses so that they didn't hurt. My interactions with everyone in this office showed me that they all have tremendous patience. Dr. Makhija I'll recommend you guys to everyone I know and everyone I don't know was in there today for 30 minutes they're just adjusting my glasses and I was kind of a teaching spot for Jana which was awesome she's able to teach them show them how long as she's done that and she's good at it she's good at what she does and it's amazing and she's teaching these girls perfectly what they should be doing I mean they hired somebody came from Ukraine and it's just great place Olga from Ukraine originally and she's doing amazing she works there she just awesome everybody there thank you thank you thank you so much I want to go in there to say hi to him like every week I enjoy your company so much read more
