I've had a very disappointing experience with this office. They are overpriced, constantly try to upsell services, and their billing practices are disorganized and unprofessional. Recently, I received a bill for services dating back to 2023. Apparently, they continued billing an outdated insurance provider, even though my coverage had changed. No one informed me of an issue at any point--not even during my 2024 annual exam, when they could have easily mentioned the outstanding balance. Instead, they waited until 2025 to send a bill, at which point it was too late to submit the correct insurance information. When I called to give them my updated insurance info, I was told it was too far past the service date to file a claim. This could have been easily avoided with even the most basic communication or billing follow-up. My advice: find an eye care provider that communicates, handles billing professionally, and genuinely cares about their patients. read more

Watch out when you do business here. They ask you for an extra payment with no explanation at all the minute you walk in the door. You'll also receive a bill in the mail that you have no idea why. On my EOB from my insurance company there's no denial of payment . My understanding is they're under contract with my insurance company as a PPO and have agreed to charge according to the contract. My best guess is they're selling you a service without telling you about it. I asked them to do a minor repair on my frame which they refused to do. I was supposed to be notified regarding a future appointment. There's been no contact from anyone. Let's not forget, we're dealing with my eyes. It takes too long to get an appointment. Some of the front end staff could be more courteous and friendly. A REAL smile goes a long way. I get the impression this business is over focused on an up sale. With any business always ask if what you're buying, will there be any extra charges. read more

We have been patrons of EyeGuys Optical in Hayden for the past 8+ years. We have always had good rapport and good service; until this year. Most of the familiar faces were gone, customer service was minimal. We had the yearly exam and purchased new glasses. 20 Days later my partner received a phone call and a man said his glasses were in but my partner would have to have someone else pick up the glasses as he was not allowed in the facility. In shock he gave me the phone and the man stated that that he was banned from the building because of harassment of an employee. When I ask what specifically was said; the man gave me the excuse that he didn't have the report. Since businesses have the right to refuse service at their discretion I didn't push the issue. I found the accusation ludicrous. Since harassment is a "he said"/ "she said"; it might be in everyone's best interest to be accompanied by someone who can verify what was said during an appointment. I have recommended this facility to several people and have called them to let them know what happened to us. read more

My daughter had an eye exam with a local doctors office but if we ordered glasses there, it could have taken 2-3 weeks. I gave Eye Guys a call and was greeted with friendly service and informed they had an on-site lab. We were in a bit of a time crunch with our upcoming spring break travel so it was important that we get glasses sooner than later. I took my daughter after school to try on and order glasses. I didn't catch the name of the woman who helped us but she was GREAT! She talked to my daughter about her likes and dislikes and then helped her chose the perfect pair. I've gone to Eye Guys 3 times over the past few years and this last time was not okay. The office staff are friendly and exam is good, but their billing/finance area not so much. I received a bill from an exam 9 months ago. I called their billing department and she said they were trying to take care of it and not involve me, but my insurance was denied (Aetna, I've had for 20+ years) saying they couldn't find my account. I called Aetna, of course they could find my account, but since more than 6 months has passed since the date of service, they would no longer accept a claim. Ugh, why didn't Eye Guys let me know sooner what was going on, clearly they couldn't figure it out and now I'm out the money. Eye guys said it's Aetna's fault, Aetna said its Eye Guys fault, I really don't care who's fault it is, I just would've liked to have known before the time lapsed. I ordered my glasses less than a year ago and chose all of the options for the lenses. I also ordered titanium frames w/o hinges because they stay in place better than most other frames when I tilt my head for better viewing angles. It was also proudly explained to me that they make their own lenses. I've worn glasses for many years and I have never had lenses that crack. I haven't worn this pair of glasses since October because I noticed one of the lenses was cracking where the nose bridge attaches. I called in November and I was told I would have to buy both new lenses. We have been traveling, so now that we're home, I took them in today. I noticed the other lens was developing cracks so I mentioned that to their counter representative. She explained that the lens material was the wrong type for eye glass frames. They would not stand behind their product and I would need to buy another set of lenses. I thought I would be represented by a professional and apparently I was not. Very disappointed! read more

I would not recommend this optical shop to anyone. My father and my self have both been patients. Eye Guys Hayden takes advantage of vulnerable seniors. Requested procedures that would not benefit both our situations. There billing department bills for everything in the book possible. Eye Guys Haden had my correct insurance and did not send it to their billing department to update. After getting a bill that should have been covered I called them and was told to call their billing department and fix the problem myself. After calling their out of state billing department multiple times I was told their system was down every time but did take my updated info. I never heard another thing about the bill until I got a letter from a collection agency. I called my insurance and they actually did pay the claims. What a nightmare! Unethical Business/Billing Practices.  1. I went to the Hayden Eyeguys Optical for a medical eye exam. They told me they were in-network with my insurance prior to my appointment (they were not, and ended up sending me an inflated bill months later because they were mistaken about being in-network). I saw Dr. Danielle Johnson. She was great. It wasn't urgent that I get glasses that day, but I went to the lobby to ask which glasses were the cheapest. 2. I asked which were the least expensive frames since my glasses prescription was not urgent. The lady showed me to a display that had no organization according to price. They all seemed $200+. I got ready to leave, and that's when the lady produced hidden boxes of much cheaper frames from behind the reception desk. I was not happy to have been misled. 3. Even though I paid all of my portion at the visit, EyeGuys sent me another bill for $133 due to them being "mistaken" for being in-network with my insurance. They charged me extra for an exam that was fully covered by my optical insurance, but they said they didn't want to bill them. It took many months to dispute this bill, due to the back and forth phone calls, voicemails, and waiting for the bill to be corrected. All the while, Eyeguys kept sending the disputed bill to my HUSBAND, marked "past due" and threatening him with collections. My husband was never listed as a guarantor on the paperwork, nor had he ever been to Eyeguys before, so he was not impressed to be getting a bill like this. I brought it to the attention of the billing department, thinking it was improper, and an issue of medical privacy, for them to send my husband a medical bill for me (especially a disputed bill). The billing dept told me this is just how they do things. 4. I was able to get the bill "resolved" in September 2023, five months after the appointment date. I got through to the billing dept (this is a phone number listed on the statement for "billing questions", different from Hayden Eyeguys office number). I explained my situation to the billing person and she agreed the bill was problematic. *She said she would take care of it and adjusted my balance to $0.* I thought that was the last I would hear of it. 5. Two months later, my husband received another "past due" bill threatening collections for the April 2023 visit. I called the Hayden Eyeguys office and informed them I had already resolved the balance with the billing dept two months prior, and that my balance should be showing as $0. Eyeguys said I still had to pay the bill as they weren't aware of any adjustment. After more back and forth phone calls, I was able to speak to the lady in the billing dept who had told me previously that my balance was taken care of. *She informed me that she had indeed adjusted my balance to $0 in the months prior, but that Eyeguys had "decided to pursue the bill anyway".* What on earth ???? 6. Eyeguys has now sent this very disputed, once "resolved" bill, to COLLECTIONS. In my HUSBAND'S name. I do not recommend doing business with this unprofessional, unethical company. At best, they add random costs to the exams and glasses, while hiding more affordable options even when asked directly. Or, like they also did in my case, they tell you your balance is $0 only to change their minds months later and send your account to collections. read more

The service was fine, however my brand new very expensive glasses lost a part 2 days later. Neither the person at the front desk, the Dr., or the person who repaired them apologized. I know things happen, but It's disappointing that their customer service isn't better, especially considering the money you spend at their store. AMAZING experience here after a terrible experience at Ellenbecker Eye Clinic. Dr. Tran was INCREDIBLE - knowledgeable, professional and personable. The staff was just as amazing, the office was clean and comfortable and the frames selection was overwhelmingly awesome. I need to update this with a name, but the young woman who helped me choose frames was phenomenal. The very first pair she suggested was PERFECT. I tried on another dozen or so after that but the first pair was just perfect for my face. HUGE KUDOS to her! And when I went to pick them up the next day, she remembered me and had them ready on the counter as I walked in. THAT is customer service. Upon my arrival, all the employees were cheerful and welcoming. Dr. Kay was friendly, kind, and patient. She didn't rush me through the appointment and was very thorough in explaining the different options that I had to choose from to correct both issues that I have with my eyes. By the time I got out of my appointment, one of the gals had already picked out a dozen different glasses for me to choose from that she thought would look best on my face. There are so many reasons I'm writing this. Wished I could have a phone call to discuss everything that transpired. First they charge me a specialist co pay and thought I was just going to see an optometrist. They said they're a medical facility but in their name it's eyeguys optical. Their drs are optometrist, not ophthamologists. Then they charged me an extra $20. I have no clue what that was for. While waiting I picked out frames and paid for them $420 which was given the impression the urgency to buy them because only one pair etc. I see Dr. Danielle Johnson and was diagnosed with severe dry eyes. She said I'll have Dr Breazeal look at them because "he loves dry eyes". I just dealt with cancer in 2022 and multiple other health issues but thought how insensitive she was to my concerns and was making a childish game of it. Sent me on my way with Steroid drops (never saw the dr that "just loves dry eyes"). Came back a week later and told I have cornea disease in both eyes and that they wouldn't fill my eye prescription until I do a $15,000 procedure (of which said I wouldn't ne capable to do the procedure. How do they know? They dont know me. Then, they offered me $2000 out of pocket for each eye for amiotic membranes. I was too see Dr Braezeal that day and as soon as I mentioned money issues I was escorted out of there and never saw him. I just came off of chemo and radiation, hospital bills etc. Yes, o was concerned about more medical bills. Since they booted me out, without allowing me to fill the prescription, I asked for a refund for the frames and they said NO! I have since gone to another facility, given a much better prognosis without having to pay $15,000 for one procedure or $4000 for the other procedure. They relieved me of the worry and when I said EyeGuys wouldn't refund me for frames, they said it was deplorable and that they would have. The frames still have the dummy lenses in them. I'm absolutely livid how I was treated from back office to the front office. NEVER WILL I EVER GO BACK. Believe there's more, but I'm getting too upset writing this. read more

Dr. Breazeal is great. I don't think I've ever had a doctor try so hard to perfect my vision. I've been wearing glasses since I was six years old, I am now 55. He has fitted me with contact lenses, computer glasses and just every day glasses. He meticulously test and retest's until my vision is at its best given my severe astigmatism. I was an extremely satisfied and happy customer today as I departed the Hayden location of Eyeguys. My frames on my RX glasses(from another business) are very fragile, unique and challenging to fix. Initially, the optical technicians at Wal-Mart were unable to fix them due to needing to replace a special part. The Eyeguys fixed my frames and now I don't need to get new glasses, plus they give friendly and efficient customer service. You guys rock!! read more

My son's glasses broke yesterday, and he did not have a back up pair. They are warrantied, but they had to be sent into the store we purchased them at, and they would be gone for a few weeks. I needed to get him a spare pair quickly and not break the bank in doing so. I called the Eyeguys in Hayden to see if I could come in with my sons prescription and get him a new pair of glasses. The girl I spoke with on the phone was so kind and courteous and answered all of my questions I had over the phone so when my son and I came in, we already knew what we were wanting. He picked out a pair of frames and they had his new glasses all set and ready to go an hour after we walked through the door. The girl who helped us was hilarious and was so good with my son. Very patient while he took his sweet time picking out the perfect frames... They had a sale going on that it was a free pair of kids lenses with a purchase of frames, so it was totally affordable which was a relief since his primary pair of glasses cost a small fortune. Highly recommend Eyeguys and will for sure be going back for any of our future optical needs. read more
