Received thorough eye exam from lovely optometrist, and then staff member who is obviously expert at analyzing face shapes found me the perfect frames. Also got reading glasses while I was at it. When I went back a few days later, there was a problem with one of the lenses in the reading glasses, but they fixed it while I waited. Great service! Recommended.

We first went to Eye Q when my son was 2 years old. They used to provide great service and was amazing with my son. The older gentleman...I guess was the previous owner...was an absolute gem. The lenses I have purchased from Eye Q have been the most accurate compared to other places I have tried. The prices are not bad compared to other places. But, over the years, with mgmt changes, the service is not the same. I went recently to get my son's annual prescription filled. They told me that they carry Tomato and Dilly Dally eyeglass brands. But when I went to the store, they had ....4 or 5 frame selections between both brands. I should have left then. My son picked a pair of dark blue Tomato frames from their very limited selection. I then notice that they did not take my son's eye (PD) measurement. I thought that they had taken it a week prior when my husband took our son. But when I called to ask, they stated that they could not take my son's eye (PD) measurement because my son was too hyper. Granted...he was. Anyone with an autistic child knows the struggle. Other places are I went to were accustomed to young children, so they give a toy and have patience. Anyway.... Eye Q did a visual "guestimate" of my son's PD measurement. I have been to other places. The staff all managed to get his eye measurement with the machine. My son has speech delay, so he cannot communicate whether his glasses are blurry or whether he is having other issues due to incorrect PD measurement. When I spoke to them about taking my son's eye measurement, Eye Q stated that there is a 1 year warranty on the lenses. If there is a problem, I can have them corrected for free. Eye Q also stated that they must send out the lens scrip to be filled externally since the lens is a 7. They could not fill the scrip in house. That was fine. I receive a call around 2 - 3 business days later stating that the glasses are ready. I go today to pick up my son's glasses. The glasses were in a plastic bag. When I asked where the kit is that typically comes with Tomato glasses, they stated that no kit comes with the glasses. I have purchased Tomato glasses previously. They always come with an eyeglass holder and a kit containing extra screws, screwdriver, extra nose pads, etc. They told me that they would need to "call the other store" to inquire whether they have the Tomato case. I could come back for it. I declined. Then they gave me a Nike case, strap, eyeglass cleaner and a cloth. Now that I have the glasses home and can examine them more closely, it seems that the glasses are used. The adjustable part of the arm that goes around the ear slips off way too easily. It is not secure at all...even for an adjustable arm. My son's prior Tomato glasses were secure....because they were new. I also notice what seems to be scuffs on the adjustable arm. If you have small children with special needs who need safety glasses, this is not the place for you. It is important that my son is happy with his eyeglasses and that they are new. My son yelled when he tried on his new glasses and refuses to wear them. Granted, this could simply indicate that my son wants a different style frame. But Eye Q is not honest about their children's safety eyeglass selection. This is a lesson learned. Update 3/29/25: Just met with the store mgr. He was late. This was an indication of how things would go. He refused to issue a refund for their faulty glasses and their poor service. Instead, he makes up some lie about all Tomato glasses needing UV glue. If the arms are glued down, they are no longer adjustable. He then arrogantly states that if I was unhappy with the assortment, I should not have made the purchase. As for them not taking my son's PD measurement, he attempted to lie again stating that they took it. I clarified that this was in 2024. Steer clear.

I was hung up on three times and I been calling them for three days all because I wanted to know if my order was ready and no one can fine my order with my information. They need to replace everyone that works in the front desk because that's not the way to handle customer that's spending money. The doctor was extremely helpful and answered all my questions.

I chose here because on Google it's almost a 5 rating and people said there were lots of frames to choose from. Setting up the appointment and filling out the forms before your visit are super easy online. They have weekend appointments. I ended up being here for an hour with the pre-exam, exam, choosing frames, and finally paying. The workers are in business dress which I appreciate. I was mostly speaking to a male worker who was nice and professional but spoke kind of quietly. The dr was efficient and nice. There was a promotional deal with 50% off the second pair of frames you buy. With my basic Aetna vision plan, it was pretty expensive. It can easily get to a few hundred dollars for two pairs. The lenses are expensive and you can add a bunch of coatings.

I loved this place when I first stumbled upon it at Atlas Park Mall. They were a cute boutique and…read moreoptical care center that offered a plentiful array of frames as well as sunglasses for all types of people big and small. They had a woman who worked there Angelique, who I loved , because if you needed something, she would make it happen. I've seen her speak with quite a nasty customer who was treating her like crap calling her names, and all Angelique could do was sigh, and smile and ask the customer how can I make your time here a little better for you, where you are not so unhappy. I've had maybe one instance where I had lost my glasses and I wanted the exact same pair. They never wrote the information down so I couldn't get another one like them and I never had a picture of me wearing them because I loathe glasses on me. ( just don't really have the face for it. ) Now they have moved to Junction Boulevard off the 7 train stop and call themselves 'Family Eye Center' as well. Some of my gripes could have been avoided, but I'm not so sure. Before they moved they had one or two staff members that would cater to everyone, now I see in this new location they have five to six girls in the front? You know what this tells me? It doesn't tell me you're busy, because I go in there almost monthly and it is not all crowded there. It tells me the quality of work two people did, you could no longer have s you had to get five or six people to equivocate duties. -Sad. I've gotten phone calls confirming my appointment in Spanish when i speak English, and since they mumble, you can't really hear in the voicemail what the heck they are saying, they don't say the name of the company, They've called and cancelled because they were overbooked, and then call me to ask why I missed my appointment. If that wasn't enough, they speak about you in Spanish in front of you. I mean really? I know what you're saying, and no you're not cool for saying it. I can get over these things these are petty things. But what I cannot get over is when I take my five-year-old to the doctor, assume all your staff has been trained, and then I get a woman who takes me into a room for an eye test that he is too young for. She asks me; "did the doctor talk to you about this exam for your child, do you know about it and stuff?....How should we do this exam?" What? I breathe deep, quietly exhale, and say; " I'm not going to have you conduct an invasive procedure that will probably damage my child's eyes permanently, If you are unsure what to do with yourself let alone a patient. I'm gong to sit in the waiting room and speak to the Optometrist myself. " What I wanted to say was; " F@!$ing seriously moron! Go play in traffic!" But that would be in bad taste. Finding out that the procedure was for older children and if he did it would damage his eyesight, makes me uncomfortable in knowing many of these girls who work there could not function if there was not a professional adult present. All the Optometrist are wonderful, I've been in interaction with three different ones! Depending on what day you go. The technician, and I am assuming Manager -Daniel has been there since the beginning of that store's existence in Atlas Park. He is great. So all in all, I give the place four stars for the best overall service. And I take one star off for the group of simpletons that need to keep there mouth shut when its not work related. As a customer, we don't care if you're miserable, get over it and don't take it out on us during daily interactions with us. Some people don't even have a job and would be more than happy to take your place in two seconds. So be polite and if you need more training, ask for it!
