Mintze, my optician, set about looking for frames that had adequate support for the thicker parts of my lenses-to-be. When it came time to pick the coatings, she warned me that the blue light filters would really harm the transmission of the thicker parts of the lens. I appreciated this attention to detail. Really, you're coming to Madison Eyes because you want a neutral person's appraisal for how the frames look on you, and because you want greater selection. It's definitely not cheap to buy glasses here. But it's worth it for making the most of my sight, my most important sense. I'm posting photos of my top two choices from this year. 6-7-21 Had cataract surgery - different doctor and location…read more After 3 weeks of treatment to fix a problem with the surgery, Dr. Reisman identified my problem quickly, notified and arranged for the surgeon that did the original surgery to immediately, correct the problem. I could have lost sight in that eye except for Dr Reisman seeing me right away without an appointment. Dr Reisman is an outstanding, competent, capable and trustworthy physician. Those who wait for a time past their appointment may experience that because Dr. Reisman is helping someone like myself. Upon arriving at the office, the assistant at the front desk greeted me with a smile, was friendly and helped make check-in a breeze. During my visit, everyone on the staff, with whom I encountered, was so friendly, professional, helpful, and extremely organized. I immediately felt at ease with everyone in the office and appreciated Dr. Fruchtman's assistant for her kindness while helping me prepare for my eye exam. I also appreciated how Dr. Fruchtman patiently listened to my concerns, took his time while going through the examination, then explaining his recommendations in detail including having his wonderful staff prepare my prescription so I could take it with me when leaving. Dr. Fruchtman is a true professional that is kind, very personable, and extremely knowledgeable. I had initially gone elsewhere based on an advertisement that I had seen on tv. I was told by this other doctor that I was not a candidate for Lasik and I was very disappointed to hear that because I needed some sort of correction badly. I had gotten home and decided before I give up to get a second opinion. I chose Dr. Benedetto's office at random and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I should also note that I had my heart set on doing the surgery in Ecuador where I have another home and had a trustworthy doctor that could have done it for $1700. However, because the eyes are so vital and doctors in the US follow stricter guidelines, have better equipment, cleaner facilities, and are accountable to their patients, I came to my senses and realized that my eyes are too vital to take a chance with so I came to the realization that even though it cost more than double that amount it was a much smarter choice. So if you're thinking of getting some discount surgery in latin America, you should probably think long and hard on it. Anyways, I explained to them that this other doctor said I was not a good candidate and asked what they thought. They ran a number of tests on me that day and said things look good but that I should come back and do these tests again next week just to confirm. They spent ALOT of time examining me and it was beyond clear that they weren't about to tell me what I wanted to hear just to get some money out of me. I am very confident that they have my best interests at heart and are very honest people. It was at that point that I knew this was the place for me. In regards to the office, it is new, inviting, appealing to the eye, and the staff are very friendly. The Lasik equipment they use, I had come to learn, is the newest technology available and fully bladeless. The surgery was quick and painless. I had a little more discomfort than most people get on the evening of my surgery but in the morning I was as fresh as a daisy. Even though all of the warnings and literature state that many people get a "foreign object sensation" in the eye and frequent dryness or some other symptoms, I did not and still do not experience any of that whatsoever. To wrap it up, I am very happy with my decision to go with Dr. Benedetto and cannot think of a single bad thing to say about these folks.
